ADVENT
Advent is the beginning of the Western liturgical year and commences on the fourth Sunday before Christmas.
The term is a version of the Latin word meaning 'coming'. Advent is a season observed in many Western Christian churches as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas.
For the others it's a time of preparation for the celebration of New Year and waiting for Christmas gifts that - let's hope - will bring Santa Claus or the Christchild. It's a time to stop a moment and to think maybe you need to start a new life?
In Lithuania, the Advent was always a quiet time to pray, to fast and to sing, but not to celebrate. It was a time of waiting for the winter solstice and observing the changes of nature. For the elder generation it is still strange that Christmas preparation begins already in November.
If you would like to have a good time at Christmas you have to read 'The Little Book of Christmas Joys: 432 things to do for yourself and others that just might make this the best Christmas ever' by H. Jackson Brown, Jr., Rosemary Brown & Kathy Peel that is translated into Lithuanian. No one will use all the suggestions, but there's plenty of good ones for anyone.
You can study the sentences of the famous and not so famous people too. You need to have an Advert calendar as well as the calendar of the Christmas events that you can find in every Lithuanian city and village.
So let's wait for Christmas with the sentences of J. S. Lec, the Polish poet and satirist, with American suggestions for Christmas as well as with German Advent calendars, filled with Austrian chocolates and English tea.
Let's visit events that offer the Christmas programme of Šiauliai, the fourth largest city of Lithuania.
DIE ADVENTSZEIT
Die Adventszeit fängt vier Wochen vor dem Weihnachtsfest an. Das Wort stammt aus dem Lateinischen
und bedeutet "Ankunft". Damit beginnt für das Christentum das neue Kirchenjahr und die Christen bereiten sich auf die Geburt von Jesus Christus vor.
Für alle andere weihnachtet es auch und "von drauß', vom Walde" kommt der Weihnachtsmann wieder, und "droben aus dem Himmelstor sieht das Chriskind schon hervor". "Und alt und jung sollen nun von der Jagd des Lebens einmal ruhn..."

In Litauen war die Adventszeit immer eine ruhige Zeit, in der nicht gefeiert wurde. Es wurde gebetet, gefastet und gesungen in der Erwartung der Wintersonnenwende. Es wurde die Natur beobachtet und danach geraten, was das kommende Jahr bringt.
Für die ältere Generation ist es immer noch komisch, dass der Weihnachtsbetrieb schon Anfang Dezember anfängt.
Aber er fängt ja an! Beim Morgenkaffee wäre es ratsam wieder im Büchlein "Weihnachtsfreuden" (The Little Book of Christmas Joys von H. Jackson Brown, Jr., Rosemary Brown & Kathy Peel) zu blätttern. Man könnte sich auch an Gedanken der berühmten Menschen erinnern. Man muss unbedingt einen Adventskalender kaufen sowie einen Veranstaltungskalender für Weihnachtszeit holen, was in jeder litauischen Stadt zu finden ist.
Wollen wir nun auf Weihnachten mit den Gedanken des polnischen Dichters und Satirikers J. S. Lec, mit amerikanischen weihnachtlichen Ratschlägen sowie mit den Adventskalendern deutscher Herkunft, gefüllt mit österreichischen Schokoladen sowie englischem Tee, warten. Wollen wir auch die Weihnachtsveranstaltungen besuchen, die in Šiauliai, in der viertgrößten Stadt Litauens, reich angeboten werden.
ADVENTAS
Vėl Adventas! Ir anot vieno T. Štormo eilėraščio - jau Kalėdų angelas leidžiasi nuo dangaus vartų link Žemės, jau Kalėdų Senis atžingsniuoja iš tolimų tolių. "Skubėk, skubėk, jau dega žvakės, jau dangaus vartai atverti",- sako jam angelas, o žmonėms primena: "Sustokite visi - seni, jauni, sulėtinkite tempą - jau artinas Kalėdos!"
Adventu, kuris lotyniškai reiškia "atėjimą", viskas ir prasideda. Tikintiesiems Adventas yra naujų liturginių metų ir Kalėdų ciklo pradžia. Šitos 4 savaitės - tai vilties metas, kai laukiama Kristaus gimimo. Kai žmogus atsigręžia į kitą žmogų. Kai ateina pajautimas: Adventas kiekvienam - šiandien, dabar ir čia...
Seniau Lietuvoje per Adventą žmonės nedirbo sunkių darbų ir neorganizavo jokių linksmybių. Pagonybės laikais buvo meldžiamasi Žemėpačiui, ūkio bei gyvulių globėjui, ir derliaus deivei Žemynai. Tapę krikščionimis lietuviai per Adventą pasnikaudavo: nevalgydavo mėsos, kiaušinių bei pieno produktų. Tokiu būdu apvalydavo kūną ir sielą, tapdavo stipresni, mažiau sirgdavo. Vakarais melsdavosi, giedojo giesmes ir laukė, kada saulė atsigręš į žemę. Advento laikotarpiu lietuviai mėgo stebėti gamtą ir iš to spręsdavo, kokie bus kiti metai. Ir dabar vyresnė karta dar nesusitaikė su tuo, kad jau Advento laikotarpiu prasideda didžiulis kalėdinis šurmulys. Nors Lietuvoje jis prasideda gerokai vėliau nei kitose pasaulio šalyse, kur jau lapkričio viduryje kyla kalėdinių pirkinių bumas, kalėdinių mugių šėlsmas ir gyvenimo džiaugsmas čia ir dabar.
Ar įmanomas toks džiugesys lietuviškoje rimtyje? Įmanomas, sako H. Jackson'as (jaun.) ir savo miniatiūrinėje knygutėje "Kalėdų džiaugsmai" pateikia 428 patarimus, kaip padaryti Kalėdas linksmiausias sau ir kitiems. Rosemary Brown & Kathy Peel) again. During the morning coffee, I review this book at the beginning of every Advent.
The first helpful advices for today could be:
#16-- Don't worry about money! Be creative! Later you will have the most beautiful memories of the Chistmastime
when you didn't have enough money.--
#73--Remember three rules for the Christmastime: 1) Plan on doing sth. in advance; 2) Set to work early;
3) Don't make a mountain out of a molehill!--
My book of "Christmas Joys" is full of the notes with sentences of the famous and not so famous people and it's the first one: SIMETIMES PEOPLE NEED A DAY FREE FROM LIFE" (J.S. LEC, 1909-1966).
Let's do such a day today because it is the 1st Sunday of Advent. If you don't have an Advent wreath at home you can go to a church and light the first Advent Candle here.
One Advent custom is perfect because you don't need to do something. Since the 1st Sunday of Advent, you need only to observe the sky 12 nights (it isn't necessarily one afte the other) and to search the brightest star on it. When you 'collect' 12 stars, go to your bed without talking to someone. In the night you will see a prophetic dream...
When you watch the stars you can think about a pleasant history or a pleasant event happened in your life.

DER 27.11.2016: DER ERSTE ADVENTSSONNTAG
So, der Advent fängt wieder an!
Und man fängt beim Morgenkaffee mit dem schon erwähnten Büchlein "Weihnachtsfreuden" an.
Ein paar Ratschläge davon kann man sich gleich merken:
#16-- Keine Verzweifelung, wenn man an Geld mangelt! Seid schöpferisch! Später überzeugt ihr euch, dass man die schönsten Erinnerungen an die Weihnachten hat, bei denen man am wenigsten Geld hatte.--
#73--Merkt euch drei Regeln für die Feiertage: 1) Plant im voraus eure Arbeiten; 2) Fangt früh damit an;
3) Macht nicht aus einer Mücke einen Elefanten!--
Kaum das Büchlein gerührt, fliegt der erste Zettel von den vielen drin gesteckten Zetteln heraus, wo Gedanken der berühmten und nicht so berühmten Menschen aufgeschrieben sind:
DIE MENSCHEN BRAUCHEN MANCHMAL EINEN TAG FREI VOM LEBEN" (J.S. LEC, 1909-1966).
Wollen wir solchen Tag heute haben, denn es ist der 1. Adventssonntag. Wenn man keinen Adventskranz hat, kann man zur Kirche gehen und dort die erste Adventskerze anzüden.
Für den Adventsabend passt ein Weihnachtsbrauch besonders gut, denn man braucht nichts zu machen. Seit dem
1. Adventssonntag beobachtet man den Himmel 12 Nächte (nicht unbedingt der Reihe nach), wobei man nach dem hellsten Stern sucht. Nachdem man 12 Sterne gesehen hat, geht man zu Bett, ohne mit jemandem zu sprechen. In der Nacht träumt man einen prophetischen Traum...
Beim Beobachten der Sterne kann man sich an eine angenehme Geschichte oder an ein angenehmes Ereignis im Leben erinnern. Und laut dem berühmten dänischen Schriftsteller H. Ch. Andersen - "Reisen - das ist das Leben!"

PIRMASIS ADVENTO SEKMADIENIS, 2016-11-27
Taigi, vėl Adventas! Ir vėl reikia ieškoti "Kalėdų džiaugsmų" knygelės, kurią malonu pavartyti kasryt geriant kavą.
Vos palietus "Džiaugsmus" išskrenda vienas iš daugybės lapukų, kurių prikimšta knygutė ir kuriuose surašytos garsių ir nelabai garsių žmonių mintys:
ŽMONĖMS KAI KADA REIKĖTŲ "DIENOS, LAISVOS NUO GYVENIMO" (J.S. LECAS, 1909-1966)
Ir tebūnie tokia diena šiandien! Neturintieji Advento vainiko gali nueiti į bažnyčią, virš kurios galbūt jau suka ratus pirmasis Advento angelas, ir uždegti pirmąją Advento žvakę.
Po metų pertraukos vartant jau minėtą H. Jackson'o knygutę "Kalėdų džiaugsmai" su 428 patarimais, norėtųsi jų visų, bet šiandien užteks ir šių:
#16--Nenusiminkite, jei trūksta pinigų. Nusiteikite kūrybiškai. Vėliau įsitikinsite, kad tos Kalėdos, per kurias turėjote mažiausiai pinigų, paliko geriausių prisiminimų.--
#73--Įsiminkite tris taisykles, kaip sumažinti šventės rūpesčius: 1) iš anksto susiplanuokite darbus; 2) anksti juos pradėkite;
3) nedarykite iš musės dramblio.--
O vakarais galima stebėti gamtą. Vienas kalėdinis paprotys, susijęs su gamta, tiksliau su dangumi, ypač geras, nes nereikia nieko daryti. Prasidėjus Adventui 12 naktų stebėti dangų išsirenkant po 1 šviesiausią žvaigždę. Praėjus 12 naktų ir pamačius 12 žvaigždžių su niekuo nekalbėti ir eiti miegoti: tada bus susapnuotas svarbus ir pranašingas sapnas.
Šiandien viena tokia žvaigždė jau užfiksuota!
Tiesa, žvelgiant į žvaigždę galima prisiminti kokią nors malonią gyvenimo istoriją.
O gyventi, anot garsiojo danų rašytojo H. K. Anderseno, tai reiškia keliauti, tebūnie ji šiandien apie keliones:

#119-- Just for once, visit New York to enjoy a Christmas play in the Concert Hall of the Radio Center as well as the skaters and the huge Christmas Tree by the Rockefeller Center!--
It's a suggestion for Americans, although I was there too. But today, you don't need to go to New York because New York came to Šiauliai. In the Concert Hall "Saulė" takes place the Jazz Concert "With love from New York" with four musicians from New York and one from Lithuania.
New York is the Christmas capital of America, famous with the really beautiful Christmas trees. But!
But Lithuanian Christmas trees can really compete with it and in Europe there are also interesting places for the Christmas holiday too (read more: http://nijolife.blogspot.lt/2015/12/2015-gruodis-deczember-eu-usa.html).
What I missed in New York at Christmas of last year it was snow. But today it is snowing and snowing in Šiauliai, in Northern Lithuania. It doesn't matter that the snow covered all the stars in the sky...

In der Nacht hat es ein wenig geschneit und so fängt der Tag mit dem Schnee und Kaffee an

Das ist ein Rat für Amerikaner, obwohl ich dort auch war. Aber heute braucht man nicht nach New York zu fahren, denn heute kommt New York nach Šiauliai. Im Konzertsaal "Saulė" findet Jazzkonzert "Mit Liebe aus New York" statt, wo vier Musikanten aus New York und einer aus Litauen auftreten.
New York ist die Weihnachtshauptstadt von Amerika, die durch äußerst schöne Weihnachtsbäume berühmt ist. Aber litauische Christbäume können damit richtig konkurrieren, und in Europa gibt es auch wirklich interessante Gegenden für Weihnachten

Was im weihnachtlichen New York voriges Jahr gefehlt hat, war der Schnee. Nun aber schneit es und schneit es in Šiauliai, in Nordlitauen. Es tut wirklich nicht leid, dass der Schnee alle Sterne am Himmel bedeckt hat.

Tai - patarimas amerikiečiams, nors ir aš Niujorke buvau. Bet šiandien ten nebūtina važiuoti, nes Niujorkas atvažiuoja į Šiaulius. Koncertų salė "Saulė" kviečia į džiazo koncertą "Su meile, iš Niujorko", kur Niujorko dvasią skleidžia keturi niujorkiečiai ir vienas lietuvis. Niujorko dvasią kiekvienas suvokia skirtingai, bet sutariama dėl vieno, kad Niujorkas - Amerikos Kalėdų sostinė. Ten labai prabangios Kalėdų eglės, bet ramia širdimi galima pasakyti: lietuviškosios tikrai nenusileidžia! Ko pernai labai trūko kalėdiniam Niujorke - tai sniego! O štai Šiauliuose šiandien sninga ir sninga... Ir tikrai negaila, kad sniegas uždengė visas žvaigždes!

Northern Lithuania is snowbound!
The white day starts with black coffee, the sententence of J. S. Lec and the 159th suggestion from the book 'Christmas Joys':

#159-- Don't wait that somebody give you Christmas joys. Take the initiative yourself!--
The nature already took the initiative with such lush snowdrifts that you don't have enough words to express it!
Today you can have a really Christmas walk through the snow-covered streets and avenues. The supermarkets and shops already shine in all Christmas colors. By the school, which windows are decorated with Christmas angels, one can see the strange fog over the snow-covered school stadium. It's very interesting for children discovered it!
Between the snow-covered trees you can see the window of a privat house with an advent wreath that isn't very popular in Lithuania. In the 1st week of Advent is lighed one candle of the Advent wreath, in the 2nd week - two candles, in the 3rd week - three candles and in the 4th week - four candles. If you see 5 lighting candles of an advent wreath it means that somebody didn't notice Christmas...
And what is with the stars today? It's O. K., because the 2nd star is discovered!

DER 29.11.2016: DIENSTAG
Nordlitauen liegt absolut im Schnee!!! Der weiße Tag fängt mit schwarzem Kaffee, einem Gedankem von J. S. Lec und dem 159. Rat aus dem Büchlein "Weihnachtsfreuden"an:
WARUM SCHREIBE ICH SO KURZ? DENN MIR FEHLEN EINFACH DIE WORTE (J. S.LEC, 1909-1966).
#159--Wartet nicht, bis jemand Weihnachtsfreuden für euch bereitet. Ergreift die Initiative selbst!--
Die Natur ergriff schon die Initiative mit solchen üppigen Schneedecken, dass es einfach die Worte fehlen! Die beste Weihnachtsstimmung heute wäre ein langer Spaziergang durch verschneite Straßen und Alleen. Die Supermärkte und Geschäfte glänzen schon in allen Weihnachtsfarben. Aus einer Lehranstalt, die ihre Fenster mit Weihnachtsengeln dekoriert hat, sieht man Kinder herauslaufen und im komischen Nebel über dem verschneiten Stadion verschwinden. Nur sehr wenige private Häuser haben sich weihnachtlich geschmückt. Zwischen den verschneiten Bäumen ist ein Adventskranz im Fenster eines Hauses zu sehen, was nicht typisch für Litauen ist. In der 1. Adventswoche zündet man darauf eine Kerze an, in der 2. Woche - zwei Kerzen, in der 3. Woche - drei und in der 4. Woche - vier. Wenn darauf 5 Kerzen brennen, hat man Weihnachten schon versäumt...
Und wie steht es heute mit den Sternen? Wunderbar! Der 2. Stern ist schon entdeckt.

Šiaurės Lietuva - absoliučiai baltam sniego patale!!! Prasideda balta diena su juoda kava, J. S. Leco mintimis
ir 159-uoju patarimu iš "Kalėdų džiaugsmų" knygutės:
KODĖL RAŠAU TAIP TRUMPAI? TODĖL, KAD TRŪKSTA ŽODŽIŲ (J. S.LECAS, 1909-1966).
#59--Nelaukite, kol kas kitas ims skleisti Kalėdų džiaugsmą. Patys imkitės iniciatyvos.--
Gamta jau ėmėsi iniciatyvos ir viską apgaubė tokiais kalėdiniais patalais, kad tiesiog trūksta žodžių. Šiandien niekur negausi didesnės Kalėdų dozės, kaip vaikščiodamas apsnigtomis gatvėmis ir alėjomis. O žmonių iniciatyvos dar nedaug. Tiesa, parduotuvės jau tviska visomis kalėdinėmis spalvomis. Štai ir pirmoji mokymo įstaiga, kurios langai išdekoruoti kalėdiniais angelais. Iš jos pabirę vaikai nuskubėjo patyrinėti keistą rūką, pakilusį virš sniegu užkloto stadiono. Tarp snieguotų medžių išniro namas, kurio langą puošia Advento vainikas. 1-ąją Advento savaitę ant jo uždegama viena žvakė, 2-ąją - dvi, 3-ąją - trys, 4-ąją - keturios, o jei dega penkios žvakės - vadinasi, Kalėdas pražiopsojai...
O kaip žvaigždės? Dangus - ūke, bet žvaigždės matosi ir jau antroji žvaigždė užfiksuota.

The main event today, it is visiting of the supermarkets to look after Christmas gifts as well as to buy an Advent calendar, because tomorrow is December 1. An Advent calendar is a special calendar used to count or celebrate the days before Christmas. Many Advent calendars take the form of a large rectangular card with 24 'windows'. Consecutive windows are opened every day leading up to Christmas, beginning on December 1.
The calendar windows open to reveal an image, a poem, a portion of a story or a small gift, such as a toy or a chocolate item. There are many variations of it, including social media Advent calendars. Many towns have created living Advent calendars.
In Lithuanian supermarkets usually you can buy German Advent calendars with chocolates. But today I discovered the calendars from Austria decorated with angels as well with Santa Claus. After I bought the 'Santa Claus' with chocolates I remembered that at home it's an Advent calendar with English tea. It doesn't matter! In the morning you can enjoy the Advent chocolate and in the evening - Advent tea.
And how is with the stars today? It's wonderful because you could discover already the third star!
And what about the story? It can be about the stars that you find in the internet yourself!

Die Weihnachtsstimmung, die von der Natur geschenkt wird, muss man hier und jetzt genießen.
Draußen ist es noch weiß, obwohl die warme Nacht die weißen Decken etwas dünner gemacht hat.
Und drinnen wartet Morgenkaffee mit dem Buch "Weihnachtsfreuden" sowie mit den Gedanken von J. S. Lec.

Die Idee des Adventskalenders ist mit der Zeit von 24 Tagen vor dem Heiligabend verbunden. So malten manche früher 24 Kreidestriche an die Tür, von denen dann täglich einer weggewischt wurde. Die anderen versüßten diese Zeit mit 24 Gebäckstücken wie die Familie vom Erfinder des Adventskalenders G. Lang, der den ersten Adventskalender 1908 hergestellt hat. Der Adventskalender ist ein deutscher Brauch, der in der ganzen Welt populär geworden ist.
Es gibt nun die unterschiedlichsten Formen davon, aber die Idee ist dieselbe geblieben: Jeden Tag ein Türchen öffnen! Man kann dahinter eine Schokolade, einen Teebeutel, einen schlauen Gedanken und alles mögliche finden. Am wichtigsten ist es die Geduld: Alles hat seine Zeit und man darf nicht töricht über den Tag hinausgreifen! In unseren Geschäften sind meistens deutsche Adventskalender mit Schokoladen zu kaufen, diesmal aber habe ich welche aus Österreich entdeckt. Die einen sind mit Engeln dekoriert, die anderen - mit dem Weihnachtsmann. Nachdem der "Weihnachtsmann" mit Schokoladen gekauft wurde, erinnerte ich mich dass man zu Hause schon einen Adventskalender hat - einen Teekalender. Macht nichts: Am Morgen wird eine Adventsschokolade gegessen und am Abend - Adventstee getrunken.
Und wie steht'es mit den Sternen heute? Einfach wunderbar - auch der dritte Stern ist schon da!

Šiandienos pagrindinis renginys - parduotuvės, kur reikia apsižvalgyti po kalėdinių dovanų lentynas. Ir nepamiršti Advento kalendoriaus, nes rytoj gruodžio 1 d.
Advento kalendorius idėja kilo fiksuojant 24 dienas, likusias iki Kalėdų. Vienur kiekvieną Advento dieną kabindavo vis naują šventą paveikslą ant sienos, kitur ant durų kreida būdavo nubrėžiami 24 brūkšneliai kasdien vieną jų nutrinant. Dar kitur vaikams 24 dienas iki Kalėdų duodavo po sausainį ir t. t. Šios idėjos įsikūnijo į Advento kalendorių 1908 m. ir nuo tada jis sparčiai išpopuliarėjo daugelyje pasaulio šalių, įgaudamas pačias įvairiausias formas. Bet idėja ta pati: kasdien 24 dienas iki Kalėdų atsidaryti vieną kalendoriaus langelį ir suvalgyti ten rastą šokoladuką ar sausainį, išgerti puodelį arbatos ar kavos iš ten rasto maišelio, galbūt perskaityti kokią įdomią mintį ar sukonstruoti kažką iš rastų detalių ir t. t. Svarbiausia - būti kantriam, mėgautis čia ir dabar ir neužbėgti laikui už akių... Parduotuvėje tarp kalėdinių saldumynų surikiuoti ir Advento kalendoriai su šokoladukais - vieni su Kalėdų angelu, kiti su Kalėdų Seniu. Gerai būtų du viename, nes abu gali atnešti dovanų. Sako, kurio atvaizdą turėsi namuose, tas ir atneš dovanas. Išsirinkau Kalėdų Senį, nes jis konkretesnis. O tada prisiminiau, kad namie jau yra vienas Advento kalendorius su angliška arbata! Na, nieko tokio - arbata bus vakarui, o šokoladas rytui.
O žvaigždės ką sako šiandien? Neįtikėtina, bet pro baltų debesų properšas žvaigždės taip mirksi, kad labai sunku nustatyti, kuri ryškiausia. Turbūt toji iš Didžiųjų Grįžulio Ratų ir ji bus jau trečioji! O istorija? Tebūnie ji apie žvaigždes!

Der erste Wintertag in Litauen ist mit etwas Frost auf der Erde und der Sonne am Himmel.
So warten wir nun auf Weihnachten mit den Gedanken des polnischen Dichters und Satirikers J. S. Lec, mit den amerikanischen weihnachtlichen Ratschlägen und mit den Adventskalendern deutscher Herkunft, gefüllt von österreichischen Schokoladen sowie englischem Tee.

Das wird später gemacht, nun aber geht man zur Bibliothek der Universität Šiauliai, wo die Ausstellung "Projektion von Weihnachten" bis zum 15. Dezember stattfindet. Wunderbare Wintergestecke ist eine richtige weihnachtliche Entspannung. Das ist eine von mehr als 100 Veranstaltungen, die in Šiauliai zur Weihnachtszeit angeboten werden. Der Tag begann mit dem Adventskalender, indem sein erstes Fenster geöffnet und die dahinter versteckte Schokolade gegessen wurde. Und der Tag endet mit dem Adventskalender, der mit dem berühmten englischen Tee "Cornwall" gefüllt ist. Der Tee passt bestens zur abendlichen Entspannung von 20 Minuten in der Stille oder mit Musik, oder mit Erinnerungen an das vergangene Jahr oder auch mit dem Weihnachtsrätsel, dessen erste Frage folgend sein könnte:
"In welchem Land wurde der Adventskalender erfunden? a) Österreich b) Deutschland c) Großbritannien (Antwort kommt morgen).

North Lithuania is covered with snow, so you could write any word in the snow today. Then you can go to the Christmas market that takes place only a few days in the city centre, decorated for the festivy season with the luminous angels, flowers and birds. And after that all roads lead to the Prisikėlimas-Square, the main square of Šiauliai. Today, there's illuminated citie's largest Christmas tree with the unique garlands of Sun motifs that you can see in the pedestrian area too, because Šiauliai is called 'Sun City'. It's interesting to know, in which country (a. Germany; b. USA; c. France) did the idea originate to illuminate the Christmas trees with electrical garlands?
The answer is tomorrow because now it's time to drink the Advent tea, discovered behind the 2nd window of the Advent calendar. The first Advent Calendar was produced by bookseller Gerhard Lang in 1908 in Munich (Germany). It's a German tradition that has become popular in all the world.
Today one doesn't ask the traditional question 'How is with the stars?', because it is snowing...

Nordlitauen ist weiß bedeckt, so könnte man heute ein beliebiges Wort im Schnee schreiben. Aber dann ist es ratsam auf dem Großen Weihnachtsmarkt im Zentrum von Šiauliai einzukaufen, der nur ein paar Tage dauert. Und danach führen alle Wege zum Hauptplatz von Šiauliai, zum Prisikėlimas-Platz, wo der größte Christbaum der Stadt mit den eigenartigen Girlanden von Sonnenmotiven angeleuchtet wird. Šiauliai nennt man eine Sonnenstadt, so sind Sonnenmotive auch in der Fußgängerzone zu sehen, die auch mit den leuchtenden Figuren der Engel, Blumen und Vögel geschmückt ist.
Es ist interessant, in welchem Land (a. Deutschland; b. USA; c. Frankreich) die ersten elektrisch beleuchteten Weihnachtsbäume aufgestellt wurden? Morgen kommt die Antwort darauf, gefunden beim abendlichen Adventstee, den man hinter dem 2. Fenster des Adventskalenders entdeckt. Und der erste Adventskalender wurde vom gelernten Buchhändler Gerhard Lang im Jahre 1908 in München, in Deutschland hergestellt.
Heute gibt es aber die traditionelle Frage "Wie steht es mit den Sternen?" nicht, denn es schneit wieder...

Šiandien ir pagrindinės Šiaulių eglės uždegimo ceremonija. Ant jos sužimba saulės motyvų girliandos, nes Šiauliai - saulės miestas. Saulės motyvai puošia ir pėsčiųjų gatvę, kurioje taip pat sužibo ir šviesos skulptūros - angelai, gėlės, paukščiai. O kurioje šalyje (a. Vokietija; b. JAV; c. Prancūzija) pirmą kartą Kalėdų eglė buvo papuošta elektrinėmis girliandomis?
Rytoj bus atsakymas, rastas vakarinio 20 min. relakso metu, geriant Advento arbatą, kurios pakuotė buvo atrasta atidarius antrąjį Advento kalendoriaus langelį. Beje, Advento kalendorių pirmą kartą išleido knygų prekeivis Gerhard'as Lang'as 1908 m. Miunchene, Vokietijoje.
O šiandien žvaigždžių danguje nėra - jas uždengė krentančios snaigės....

There are not many people in the Post Office, so it is the right time to send all packages. Then, when you visit the Christmas Market, you have the real possibility to squeeze the hand of Santa Claus and to see yourself that he isn't mirage.
Not mirage is a concert at 6 p.m. today (3.12) - Lithuanian spelling of it would be 12.3.6, that is founding year of Šiauliai. It's because today takes place the final concert, dedicated to the 780th Anniversary of Šiauliai, the fourth largest city of Lithuania. Šiauliai has celebrated it all the year (2016) round.
The final concert, it was a magnificent performance with famous choirs, orchestras, singers and dancers. The history and the present of Šiauliai were presented with music, songs and dances as well as with the impressive visual effects.
After the concert you could continue to enjoy the present of Šiauliai decorated with Christmas festoons and stars. In Šiauliai, the Christmas tree this year is especially beautiful, with new decorations and lights of sun motifs and sunbeams.
By the way, the first Christmas tree, illuminated with electric festoons, was displayed in New York in 1912. So, it isn't such an old tradition as it of Father Christmas. If you would like to know how old is Father Christmas you can find the answer in the picture below: Add together all numbers here and you have the sum (i.e., the age of Santa Claus) you need.
It's enough 20 minutes for this Christmas puzzle in the evening when drinking Advent Tea from the Advent calendar.

Hinter dem Fenster des Hauses herrscht der richtige litauische Winter und hinter dem 3. Fenster des Adventskalenders steckt die richtige Schokolade zum Kaffee, J. S. Lec und "Weihnachtsfreuden".
WENN ES SICH ENTPUPPT, DASS DIE MIRAGE EINE WIRKLICHKEIT IST, MUSS MAN NACH DER ENTSCHÄDIGUNG VERLANGEN (J. S. LEC, 1909-1966).

Auf dem Postamt gibt's nicht viele Menschen, also es ist die richtige Zeit alle Packete abzuschicken. Unterwegs entsteht die Möglichkeit die Hand des Weihnachtsmanns, der auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt bummelt, zu drücken, um sich zu vergewissern, dass er keine Mirage ist.
Nun ist es schon 6 Uhr abends vom 3.12. Die litauische Schreibweise wäre 12, 3, 6 und so bekommt man das Gründungsjahr von Šiauliai (1236). Deshalb findet heute das Abschlusskonzert zum 780. Jubiläum statt, das die viertgrößte Stadt Litauens Šiauliai das ganze Jahr gefeiert hat. Das war eine imposante Aufführung mit Chören, Orchestern, Sängern und Tänzern, die nicht nur in Litauen, sondern auch im Ausland bekannt sind. Die Vergangenheit und die Gegenwart von Šiauliai wurden mit Hilfe von Musik, Liedern, Tänzen und eindrucksvollen visuellen Efekten vorgestellt.
Nach dem Konzert konnte man die Gegenwart von Šiauliai weiter genießen, die nun von Weihnachtsgirlianden beleuchtet ist, die in Fenstern, an Gebäuden und an Christbäumen glimmern. Übrigens, wurden die ersten elektrisch beleuchteten Weihnachtsbäume 1912 in New York aufgestellt. Es war vor etwa 100 Jahren, also nicht so lange her. Und wie alt könnte der Weihnachtsmann sein, kann im Bild unten erfahren: Welche Summe (Alter des Weihnachtsmanns) kommt heraus, wenn man alle Zahlen da addiert?
Für diesen Weihnachtsrätsel reichen 20 Minuten am Abend beim englischen Adventstee vom Adventskalender.
In der Sonnenstadt Šiauliai war heute ein sonniger Tag, dem eine sternenhelle Nacht folgte. So gab es kein Problem den 5. Stern zu entdecken, der selbstverständlich mit der Geschichte von Šiauliai verbunden ist

O už trečiojo Advento kalendoriaus langelio laukia tikras minišokoladas prie kavos, J. S. Leco minčių ir "Kalėdų džiaugsmų".

Galingos pajėgos - Lietuvoje ir už jos ribų garsūs chorai, dainininkai ir šokėjai kūrė įspūdingą teatralizuotą renginį. Muzika, daina, šokiu ir stulbinančiu vizualiniu fonu buvo perteikta Šiaulių žemės istorija ir dabartis.
Po koncerto buvo galima toliau grožėtis miesto dabartimi, tviskančia nuo švytinčių girliandų languose, ant pastatų bei ant kalėdinių eglių. Beje, pirmą kartą elektrinės girliandos ant Kalėdų eglės buvo uždegtos Niujorke 1912 m. - ne taip jau ir seniai, maždaug prieš 100 metų. O kiek metų galėtų būti Kalėdų Seniui, galima sužinoti šiame paveikslėlyje: Norint sudėti visus čia surašytus skaičius (tai ir būtų Kalėdų Senio amžius) užteks 20 min. vakare, skirtų Advento kalendoriaus arbatai.
Po to - nepamiršti žvilgtelėti į žvaigždes. Šiauliuose - Saulės mieste, dieną švietė ryški saulė, o nakties danguje mirksėjo labai ryškios žvaigždės, tad buvo nesudėtinga susirasti jau penktąją žvaigždę, kuri, be abejo, susijusi su Šiauliais.

In Lithuania, there aren't popular German practices of Advent associated with an Advent wreath. But yo can light two Advent candles in a church too, where you might feel already two angels flying above it. Or do they fly over the Frenkelis Villa of the Museum "Aušra" where is open the exhibition 'Along the parth of mercy: Saints in Art' (17 November, 2016 - 5 February, 2017). The exhibition is dedicated to the Holy Year of Mercy announced by Pope Francis.
In the villa you can see the pictures, wooden sculptures and small gold-plated altars from the museum "Aušra" (Šiauliai), the Art Museum of Lithuania (Vilnius), as well as from churches of Skuodas and Molėtai. Very interesting is the large picture of an unknown painter, painted in oils on copper and called 'Jesus invites children'. It's an invitation to think about Christmas spirit!
One of the saints - Saint Nicholas is connected with Christmas. In which way? (The answer is tomorrow).

DER 4.12.2016: DER ZWEITE ADVENTSSONNTAG
Heute fängt der 2. Advent mit dem sogenannten Kupfernen Sonntag an. Draußen stehen verschneite Bäume und Häuser, und drinnen liegen wie immer die 4. Schokolade aus dem Adventskalender, Zettel mit den Gedanken von J. S. Lec sowie "Weihnachtsfreuden" auf dem Tisch neben Morgenkaffee.

#364--Weihnachten ist die Zeit der alten Traditionen. Lassen wir es sein, wie es ist!--
Die vorweihnachtliche Tradition - der Adventskranz ist ein deutscher Brauch, in Litauen nicht so populär. Aber die zwei Adventskerzen kann man auch in einer Kirche anzünden, wobei man vielleicht spürt, dass schon zwei Engel darüber kreisen?
Oder kreisen die über die Frenkelis-Villa des Museums "Aušra", wo die Ausstellung „Auf dem Wege der Barmherzigkeit: Heilige in der Kunst" ausgestellt ist (bis Februar 2017). Damit wurde der Einladung vom Papst Franziskus gefolgt, der 2016 zum Hl. Jahr der Barmherzigkeit erklärt hat.
In der Ausstellung fällt zuerst das Bild eines unbekannten Malers auf, gemalt im Öl auf einer Kupferplatte. Es heißt "Jesus lädt Kinder zu sich ein" und ist eine Einladung, die am kupfernen Adventssonntag gerade richtig ist.
In der Villa sind Bilder und Holzskulpturen der Heiligen sowohl vom Museum "Aušra" (Šiauliai) als auch vom Kunstmuseum Litauens (Vilnius) ausgestellt. Aber auch kleine vergoldete Altäre für Prozessionen aus den Provinzkirchen vom Kreis Skuodas sowie Molėtai sind hier zu sehen.

#281--Visite the historic building decorated festively in your area.--
Until today, all historic buildings of the city were decorated with the snow melt last night. Only the building of the Heating Company "Šiaulių Energija" is decorated with the Christmas lights. Its 60 meters high chimney was lit colourfully a week ago and can compete with the Šiauliai Cathedral which spire, lighhting all year round, is 71 m high. By the way, the building of 'Šiaulių energija' could be a historic building too, because the first boiler here was installed in 1966 - 50 years ago!
It's interesting that chimneys are associated with Father Christmas. If you don't now about it you will find the answer tomorrow because now is the the time for relaxing with Advent tea.
Tomorrow is St. Nicholas' Day (December 6) and St. Nicholas is the prototype of the Father Christmas. It was proved that really Nicholas was the bishop, later declared a Saint of the Greek Church. In Europe, especially in Germany, children put a boot, called Nikolaus-Stiefel (Nikolaus boot), outside the front door on Saint Nicholas Eve in hope that Saint Nicholas will fill it with gifts and sweets overnight.
In Lithuania, we don't celebrate St. Nicolas Day, but who knows?
So let's leave our shoes outside the door too!

DER 5. 12.2016: MONTAG
In der Nacht hat es geregnet, so ist die Weihnachtsstimmung draußen getaut. Aber drinnen ist es weihnachtlich mit der 5. Adventsschokolade zum Kaffee sowie mit den "Weihnachtsfreuden", woraus immer ein Gedanke von J. S. Lec herausfliegt:

#281--Besucht ein historisches Gebäude in eurer Gegend, das festlich geschmückt ist.--
Bis jetzt waren alle historischen Gebäude der Stadt nur mit dem Schnee geschmückt, der aber in der Nacht getaut ist. Was nun unter dem Himmel von Šiauliai weihnachtlich glänzt, ist der Schornsten des Heizhauses Süd von "Šiaulių energija". Der Schornstein wird jährlich weihnachtlich beleuchtet und ist von Weitem zu sehen, denn mit sener Höhe von 60 Metern kann er mit dem Turm des Domes von Šiauliai richtig konkurrieren, der 71 m hoch ist (mit dem Kreuz - 76 m).
Übrigens könnte das Heizungshaus Süd schon ein historisches Gebäude sein, denn der erste Heizkessel da wurde 1966 - also, vor 50 Jahren - in Betrieb gesetzt.
Und Schornsteine sind direkt mit den Weihnachtsmännern verbunden. Wie? Die Antwort kommt morgen, denn nun ist die Atempause mit dem Adventstee zu machen.
Morgen ist Nikolaustag, und Hl. Nikolaus ist ein Prototyp des Weihnachtsmannnes gewesen. Einen Nikolaus hat es nachweislich gegeben: Er war ein wundertätiger Bischof und schließlich Heiliger der griechischen Kirche.
In Deutschland stellt man am Vorabend des 6. Dezembers Stiefel vor die Tür in der Hoffnung, dass Nikolaus sie mit Süßigkeiten und Obst füllt. In Litauen ist dieser Brauch nicht bekannt, aber wer weiß, vielleicht kommt Nikolaus vorbei?
Wollen wir unsere Schuhe draußen vor die Tür stellen!

Visi miesto istoriniai pastatai kol kas buvo papuošti tik baltais snieguotais stogais, bet sniegas šiandien nutirpo. Vienintelis pastatas, kuris švyti Šiaulių padangėje, yra "Šiaulių energijos" Pietinės katilinės kaminas, kuris kasmet per Adventą papuošiamas lempučių girliandomis ir taip žaižaruoja iki Kalėdų. Beje, Pietinė katilinė jau galėtų būti istorinis pastatas, nes jos pirmas katilas buvo paleistas 1966 metais. Taigi, prieš 50 metų - o tai jau jubiliejus! Kamino aukštis buvo 45 metrai, bet po rekonstrukcijos
2014 m. jis padidėjo iki 60 m. Taigi, kaminas beveik pasivijo Šiaulių katedros bokštą, kurio aukštis 71 m (su kryžiumi - 76 m).
Beje, kaminai yra susijęs su Kalėdų seniu. Kaip? Atsakymas bus rytoj.
Kalėdų senio prototipas yra Šv. Mikalojus. Rytoj yra jo vardo diena, kuri yra ypatinga Vokietijoje: visi laukia Mikalojaus dovanų, kurias jis palieka batuose. Tad iš vakaro visi padeda savo batus prie durų.

The story about Santa Claus is it a lie or a creative work? In the old times, you needed to be very creative to imagine that Father Christmas can come to the inside of the house through its chimney. Today the chimneys are too thin for Father Christmas...
In Germany, you can see the 'brother' of Father Christmas already at the 6. December, on St. Nicholas' Day. Even the tourist, who has no idea of St. Nicholas', can get a small gift when he meets him. Although Nicholas wears the same clothes as Father Christmas but it is only his prototype because he brings only small gifts. The tradition of "Nicholas" is very old while Father Christmas, that brings big gifts at Christmas, became popular in Northern Germany only in 19th century. Father Christmas is originally from America (Santa Claus). In many areas of Southern Germany, the Christmas gift-bringer is not Father Christmas but the Christchild.
The story about Christmas gift-bringer is so creative that you need 20 hours for it. But not 20 minutes during the Advent tea in the evening! The most important thing of this imaginative story is the real result - Christmas gifts! It would be interesting to know how old is the tradition of Christmas gifts? The answer is tomorrow because now you need to study the program of Christmas events in Šiauliai and then to look to the sky. No stars!

Die Natur fängt mit dem Winter von Anfang an. Gestern ist der Schnee getaut und heute nacht ist der Boden wieder gefroren und ein wenig weiß bedeckt. Drinnen gibt es keine Veränderung: Morgenkaffee mit der 6. Adventsschokolade, "Weihnachtsfreuden" sowie mit einem Gedanken von J. S. Lec:

Die Geschichte des Weihnachtsmanns - ist es eine Lüge oder ein Schaffen?
Richtig schöpferisch musste man in den alten Zeiten sein, um sich auszudenken, dass Weihnachtsmänner durch Schornsteine in Häuser geraten können. Nun sind die Schornsteine zu dünn dazu...
In Deutschland werden die "Brüder" der Weihnachtsmänner schon am 6. Dezember, am Nikolaustag erwartet. Sogar ein Tourist, der keine Ahnung vom Nikolaustag hat, bekommt hier ein kleines Geschenk, wenn er Nikolaus begegnet. Obwohl Nikolaus dieselben Kleider trägt wie der Weihnachtsmann, aber er ist nur sein Prototyp, denn Nikolaus bringt nur kleine Geschenke. Bekommt man Geschenke von Nikolaus, ist es zu erwarten, dass man auch große Geschenke vom Weihnachtsmann zu Weihnachten erhält. Die Tradition des "Nikolaus" ist schon sehr alt, während die vom "Weihnachtsmann" erst im 19. Jh. aufkam und in Norddeutschland sehr populär wurde. Der Weihnachtsmann kommt ursprünglich aus Amerika, wo er "Santa Claus" genannt wird. In vielen Gegenden Süddeutschlands bringt aber das "Christkind" die Geschenke am Weihnachtstag.
Die Geschichte des Weihnachtsmanns ist so lang, dass 20 Minuten beim abendlichen Adventstee richtig zu kurz dafür sind. Man braucht wenigstens 20 Stunden! Am wichtigsten ist es, dass das Ergebnis dieser fantasievollen Geschichte sehr real ist: Weihnachtsgeschenke! Wann ist aber die Tradition der Weihnachtsgeschenke entstanden? Die Antwort kommt morgen, und nun braucht man noch im Programm der Weihnachtsveranstaltungen von Šiauliai zu blättern. Und dann noch zum Himmel zu gucken. Der wievielte Stern wäre es schon? Keiner, denn der Himmel ist auch heute sternenlos.

Gamta ėmėsi žiemos darbo iš naujo: vakar visą sniegą nutirpdė, o šiąnakt vėl sušaldė žemę padengdama ją šerkšnu. Viduje jau garuoja kava, pasaldoma šeštuoju Advento šokoladu, papildoma "Kalėdų džiaugsmais" ir J. S. Leco mintimis:

Kalėdų senelio melas - tai iš tikro kūryba, todėl senais laikais Kalėdų Senis patekdavo į namus per kaminus. Dabar kaminai per ploni ir Kalėdų senis pro juos nebepralenda. O jo "broliukas", vardu Mikalojus, ypač laukiamas Vokietijoje gruodžio 6 d., per Mikalojaus vardadienį (Nikolaustag). Ir jis ateina, o apie tokią dieną nieko nežinantis turistas nustemba, kas čia dabar? Šią dieną Vokietijoje tikrai galima sulaukti ir anoniminės picos, o jau saldumynais apsidalija tikrai visi - nuo šalies kanclerių iki darželinukų.
Nors Mikalojus apsirengęs kaip Kalėdų Senis, bet jis yra tik jo pranašas, nes atneša nedideles dovanas, daugiausia saldumynus. Jeigu gavai dovanėlių nuo Mikalojaus, tai tikėtina, kad didelių dovanų gausi ir nuo Kalėdų Senio per Kalėdas. Jeigu nieko negavai, vadinasi blogai elgeisi, ir būsi perspėtas piktojo Mikalojaus palydovo Ruprecht'o. Bet dar bus laiko iki Kalėdų pasitaisyti. Tiesą sakant, Kalėdų Senis Vokietijoje pasirodė tik 19 a. (tradicija atkeliavo iš Amerikos) ir išpopuliarėjo šiaurinėje Vokietijoje, tuo tarpu Pietų Vokietijoje dovanas per Kalėdas atskraidina Kristaus kūdikėlis angelo pavidalu.
Kalėdų Senio istorija ilga ir jai reikėtų 20 valandų, o ne 20 min. geriant vakarinę Advento arbatą. Svarbiausia, kad Kalėdų Senio fantazijos vaisius yra realus: Kalėdų dovanos. O kada atsirado Kalėdų dovanų tradicija? Atsakymas rytoj, o šiandien dar reikia pavartyti kalėdinių renginių programą Šiauliuose, o po to žvilgtelėti į žvaigždes, bet jos ir šiandien danguje nepasirodė...

There are many sorts of coffee and its preparation ways. The special coffee is made from coffee beans of fresh harvest, roasted not earlier than two weeks ago and grinded before the preparation. Let's hope you have a time for such a magical coffee at Christmas! Any way, coffee is a good Christmas gift!
The tradition of Christmas gifts is very old. Probably it comes from the ancient Rome. In the Middle Ages, it was banned by the church as a pagan remains. But in the 16th century, it became popular the Christmas present for children, included a coin, sweets, toys, clothes and school things. Later, the present included so many things that it was needed the help of Santa Claus or Christ Child. And how do these helpers know which Christmas gift do you want? (The answer is tomorrow).

Nordlitauen ist in der Nacht zur Eisbahn ohne Schnee geworden.
Die verschneiten Landschaften sind nur noch in den Bildern des Adventskalenders bei der Suche
nach der 7. Adventsschokolade zu genießen. Auf dem Kaffeetisch liegen heute noch die "Weihnachtsfreuden" und
ein Veranstaltungskalender für Weihnachtszeit in Šiauliai.

Es gibt sehr viele Kaffeesorten und dessen Vorbereitungsmöglichkeiten. Besonderen Kaffee bekommt man, wenn man es aus Kaffeebohnen von frischer Ernte macht, geröstet nicht früher als vor zwei Wochen und gemahlen vor der Vorbereitung. Vielleicht findet man Zeit für solche Kaffeemagie wenigstens zu Weihnachten? Auf jeden Fall Kaffee ist ein gutes Weihnachtsgeschenk!
Die Bescherung ist ein Brauch, der vermutlich aus dem alten Rom stammt. Im Mittelalter wurde das Schenken zu Weihnachten so populär, dass es die Kirche Mitte des 15. Jhs als heidnisches Überbleibsel amtlich verbot. Dennoch: Schon Mitte des 16. Jhs war die "Christbürde" genannte Kinderbescherung üblich, wozu ein Geldstück, Nascherei, Spielzeug, Kleiderstücke und Schulsachen gehören. Später wurden die Gaben so zahlreich, dass man dabei die Hilfe eines Weihnachtsmanns oder eines Christkindes brauchte. Und wie erfahren diese Helfer, welche Weihnachtsgeschenke gebracht werden müssen? (Darüber morgen).
Nach dem Adventstee am Abend stellt man fest, dass es auch heute keine Sterne am Himmel gibt.

Hurakanas yra majų dievas, kurio valioje - vėjai ir audros, o kavos firmos, pasivadinusios jo vardu, valioje pasirinkti kavo ruošimo filosofiją. Galimybių paruošti kavą - tiek pat gausu kaip ir kavos rūšių. Dešimtys skonių, poskonių ir pojūčių skleidžiasi skirtingai, naudojant skirtingus būdus. Ypatinga kava išverdama tik tuomet, kai pupelės yra šviežio derliaus, paskrudintos ne seniau nei prieš dvi savaites, o sumaltos prieš pat vartojimą. Gerai tai sužinoti, dar geriau būtų šito nepamiršti. Gal kada nors bus galima turėti tiek laiko, kad jo liks ir magiškai kavai paruošti. Gal net per šias Kalėdas? Bet kuriuo atveju ir kava, ir knyga puikiausios dovanos Kalėdoms.
Kalėdų dovanų tradicija yra labai sena, turbūt kilusi iš Romos laikų, kai valdovai gaudavo naujametines dovanas iš pavaldinių. Viduramžiais ši tradicija taip paplito, kad 15 a. bažnyčia ją uždraudė kaip pagonišką reliktą. Bet jau 16 a. buvo įprasta vaikams per Kalėdas dovanoti "Kristaus laiknešėlį", kuriame turėjo būti žaislas, rūbas, mokyklinis reikmuo, pinigas ir saldumynas. Bet labai greitai dovanos nebetilpo į laiknešėlį ir buvo pradėtos dėti po egle. O į pagalbą atėjo ir Kalėdų Senis, ir Kristaus kūdikis angelo pavidalu. O kaip jie sužino, kokių dovanų norima? All day was connected with doing of a kidness, so one has very little time for the Christmas Programme, that offers 5 events today. It's why it was planned a very short visit only to the little Christmas market in the city district Šimšė. But the visit continued 3 hours because of the Ice Queens and interesting Christmas trees (created by students) as well as because of Santa Claus and the funny concert, included magical winter songs, dancing snow flakes and stars and the Lithuanian pop stars Radži and
B. Dambrauskaitė. The concert ended with the best Christmas wishes and fireworks!
After the Christmas Concert, Santa Claus asked whether the audience would like something more?
'Christmas gifts!' - it was the answer of the audience.
'Write me a letter to know which Christmas gifts would be required! Do you know where I live?'
Tomorrow, it's the answer to this question of Santa Claus. And now you need to drink Advent tea and to look to the sky. Very sad, but no stars tonight too!
DER 8.12.2016: DONNERSTAG
Das Eis hat in der Nacht getaut und nur der Adventskalender erinnert daran, dass es weihnachtet.
Es wird schon das 8. Fensterchen geöffnet, d. h., ein Drittel der Schokoladen ist schon gegessen. Und was sagt J. S. Lec dazu?

Und die "Weihnachtsfreuden" sind mit den Gedanken über andere Menschen verbunden:

Der Tag ist mit Wohltaten verbunden, aber auch mit Geschenken sowie göttlichem "Adventssekt" (Dessert aus dickem Moorbeerengetränk mit Schlagsahne).
Das Weihnachtsprogramm bot heute 5 Veranstaltungen an, aber es gab wenig Zeit dafür. So wurde nur ein kurzer Besuch zum kleinen Weihnachtsmarkt im Stadtbezirk Šimšė geplant, aber es hat dort ... 3 Stunden gedauert: wegen der Eisköniginnen und fantasievoller Weihnachtsbäume (geschaffen von Studierenden); wegen des Weihnachtsmanns (der allen konnte, sogar Gymnastikübungen) und wegen des Kozerts mit den magischen Winterliedern, tanzenden Schneeflocken und Sternen. Aber besonders wegen des Auftritts der litauischen Popstars Radži ("Lebensfreude hier und jetzt und schnell") und B. Dambrauskaitė ("Es ist die Zeit an seine Fehler, unerfüllte Hoffnungen und Träume zu denken..."). Alles endete mit den besten Weihnachtswünschen und Feuerwerken!
Nach dem Weihnachtskonzert hat der Weihnachtsmann gefragt, ob das Publikum noch etwas möchte?
"Weihnachtsgeschenke! " war die Antwort, worauf der Weihnachtsmann reagierte:
"Schreibt mir einen Brief oder einen Wunschzettel, um zu wissen, welche Geschenke gewünscht werden! Wisst ihr, wo ich wohne?"
Die Antwort auf diese Frage des Weihnachtsmanns kommt morgen.
Und für heute gibt es noch Adventstee und die Sterne, die auch heute am Himmel nicht erschienen sind.

Diena susijusi su labdaringais darbais, o gerus dabus reikia daryti tyliai. Bet jų dėka teko paragauoti dieviško "Advento šampano", deserto iš tiršto spanguolių kisieliaus su grietinėle, bei gauti vaikų rankomis pagamintą angelą.
O Šiaulių kalėdinėje programoje šiandien 5 renginiai: pora advento vakarų, kalėdinės dirbtuvėlės, dar viename miesto rajone bus įžiebta eglė, o štai kitame - Šimšėje, prie ŠPRC Buitinių paslaugų skyriaus - bus atidarytas kalėdinis miestelis. Kadangi jis pakeliui, buvo planuota užbėgti 3 minutėms, bet pasilikta čia visas 3 valandas. Ir dėl Kalėdų mugės, ir dėl kalėdinių eglių (kokias gali sukurti tik neribota moksleiviška fantazija), ir dėl Kalėdų Senio (kuris mokėjo viską ir mokė daryti mankštą), ir dėl stingdančių Ledo karalienių aplinkui...
Ir dėl koncerto, kuriame moksleivių kolektyvai visiems "po dienos darbų" dovanojo dainas. Todėl "atėjo magiška žiema", pabiro šokančios snaigės ir žvaigždės, pasiklydusios galaktikoje. O scenon įžengęs Radžis, pasiūlė džiaugtis gyvenimu čia, dabar ir kuo greičiau, ir kartais žvilgtelėti į dangų, nors "danguje tiek daug žvaigždžių, kurios jau nieko nebešildo". Pamatęs publikos šėlsmą, pasiūlė padaryti Šiauliuose chaosą ("bardaką"). Bet išėjo Birutė Dambrauskaitė ir galingu balsu priminė, kad "ateina metas suskaičiuot visas klaidas, neišsipildžiusias viltis ir svajones". Ir ne tik per publiką, bet Radžio veidu nubėgo šiurpuliukai, galvojant kokių čia klaidų pridaryta šiais metais. Bet dainininkei buvo negana ir ji vertė apmąstyti visą gyvenimą: "Tad patikėki, patikėki, patikėki / /Kad bėga metai daug greičiau už svajones /O jeigu žvilgsnį veidrodis klaidina /Kalti ne mes, kalti ne mes..."
O prasidėjus fejerverkams angelo balsu paprašė:
"Man palinkėki gerų Kalėdų,/ Man palinkėki geros vilties./ Gerų Kalėdų ir Tau linkėsiu,/ Linkėsiu geros kloties!
Atrodo, kad nieko daugiau nebereikia. Bet Kalėdų Senis paklausė, ar dar ko nors publika norėtų?
"Dovanų!" - buvo atsakyta.
"Tai parašykit man laišką, kad žinočiau, kokias atnešti! Ar žinote, kur gyvenu?"
Atsakymas į šį Kalėdų Senio klausimą bus tytoj, o šiandien dar liko Advento arbata ir žvaigždės,
kurių tiek daug danguj, bet šiandien ir vėl nesimato nė vienos...

You can do it today because the Christmas Programme of Šiauliai offers three events and two of them are connected with music. In the Bookstore "Žiburys" takes place the concert 'Joy of Christmas' of Gabija L. Petrauskaitė that sings about life, love, happiness and 'paper friends'. In the concert you could feel more Advent atmosphere, while the Christmas feeling you needed to seach outside: By the traditional Christmas tree in the city center or in the small Christmas market of the city district Šimšė, that is decorateded with modern Christmas trees, created by young people.
Now, the biggest Christmas business is in supermarkets. Very strange that you don't see Santa Claus here. Maybe it's because now, Father Christmas is wrapping the Christmas gifts in his residence, situated on the Arctic Circle in Lapland. And where does he buy the Christmas gifts? We speak about it tomorrow.
During Advent tea, the moon looked through the window as if he wishes to say that the stars appeared in the sky again. It's true and so it was discovered already the 6th star (we need 12)!

Draußen gibt es keine Winterspuren, aber daran erinnert der Adventskalender,
dessen 9. Fensterchen eröffnet wird. Kommt Zeit, kommt Rat, auch von S. Lec (1909-1966):
ES WÄRE RATSAM ERNÜCHTERUNGSANSTALT FÜR BETRUNKENE VOM GLÜCK ZU GRÜNDEN.
Vom Buch "Weihnachtsfreuden" kann man auch einen Rat einholen:

Im Weihnachtsprogramm von Šiauliai gibt es heute drei Veranstaltungen, von denen zwei mit Musik verbunden sind. In der Buchhandlung "Žiburys" fand das Weihnachtskonzert von Gabija L. Petrauskaitė "Joy of Christmas" statt. Die junge Musikerin hat sich in ihren Liedern mit ihrer Lebensauffassung, Glück zu zweit und "Papierfrenden" auseinandergesetzt. Im Konzert herrsche mehr Adventsstimmung, während die Weihnachtsmotive am traditionellen Christbaum auf dem Hauptplatz der Stadt zu suchen sind. Oder auf dem kleinen Weihnachtsmarkt mit modernen von Jugendlichen geschaffenen Christbäumen im Stadtbezirk Šimšė. Oder in Supermärkten, wo nun ein richtiger Weihnachtsbetrieb herrscht.

Lauke - jokių žiemos požymių. Bet yra gruodis ir Advento kalendorius skaičiuoja jo dienas - jau atidarytas 9 langelis, o J. S. Lecas (1909-1966) pataria:

Gitaros garsų ir dainų nuotaika buvo labiau adventinė, tuo tarpu kalėdinių motyvų reikėjo dairytis už knygyno sienų - prie tradicinės Didžiosios miesto eglės centrinėje aikštėje, ar jaunimo sukurtame alternatyviame Šimšės kalėdiniame miestelyje.
Arba supermarketuose, kur pats kalėdinių dovanų pirkimo bumas, bet Kalėdų Senio nesimato. Turbūt jis savo rezidencijoje Laplandijoje už poliarinio rato dar pakuoja dovanas. Įdomu, o kur jis jas perka? (Atsakymas rytoj).
Jau geriant vakarinę Advento arbatą, pro langą žvilgtelėjo mėnulis, tarsi norėdamas pranešti, kad pagaliau danguje pasirodė žvaigždės... Taigi, jau šeštoji žvaigždė užfiksuota ir padaryta pusė darbo.

This morning, it is made in a hurry with drinking of the coffee, sweetened with the 10ty Advent chocolate, as well with reading of J. S. Lec and the suggestions of 'Christmas Joys'. It is because of the trip to Vilniaus, the capital of Lithuania!

And what about Christmas gifts, sold in the Christmas market of Vilnius next to the main Christmas tree of the capital of Lithuania? The offer is wonderful but there are the highest prises in Lithuania. But at first pay and then you can faint!
And the Christmas tree is really beautiful! It's the most elegant Christmas tree I have seen before. It's seems like a Christmas secret enveloped in lighting festoons. The most impressive photos of it are made from above. There the Christmas tree seems to be dressed in a perfect knitted dress of a world famous designer!
For the perfect design of the Christian tree of Vilnius and the Christmas market around it, doesn't fit the fairytale Christmas house with gingerbread from Germany. It stands outside the Christmas market but it's the best place to meet the friends with them you studied German at the University of Vilnius.
On the way back to Šiauliai, it starts to snow. The lighting festoons, seen in Vilnius, would be right to cover the little Christmas market in the district Šimšė of Šiauliai. Especially it would be right for the Christmas tree here, that presents as the lady with a rock, made from fir pine branches and decorated with Christmas decorations. And where are the most famous Christmas markets of the world where Father Christmas is shopping too?
It's snowing and snowing and it's because you can't see the stars in the sky.
But you can drink an Advent tea!

Die Natur spielt: Es friert wieder, vielleicht wird es auch schneien?
Heute wird alles in Eile gemacht: Zuerst Kaffee, gesüßt mit der 10. Adventsschokolade, dann ein Gedanke von J. S. Lec und ein Rat von "Weihnachtsfreuden" und danach - die Fahrt nach Vilniaus.
BEZAHLE ZUERST, DANN KANN MAN OHNMÄCHTIG WERDEN (J. S. LEC, 1909-1966).
#341--Freu' dich über jedes Geschenk!--
Und welche Weihnachtsgeschenke werden auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt von Vilnius angeboten, der am größten Christbaum der Hauptstadt stattfindet? Das Angebot ist groß und die Preise sind auch hoch, aber zuerst muss man bezahlen, erst dann in Ohnmacht fallen. Der Christbaum von Vilnius ist aber wunderschön! So einen eleganten Christbaum habe ich noch nie gesehen. Ein richtiges Weihnachtsgeheimnis, gewölbt von glänzenden Girlianden. Am eindrucksvollsten sieht er in Fotos aus, die von oben gemacht werden. Der Christbaum scheint in einem vollkommenen Ajourkleid von einem weltberühmten Designer gehüllt zu sein. In diese vollkommene Konzeption des Christbaums von Vilnius hat das Märchenhaus mit Lebkuchen aus Deutschland nicht hineingepasst und musste etwas weiter eingerichtet werden. Aber eben dort verabredet man das Treffen mit einer Studienkollegin, mit der man Deutsch an der Uni Vilnius studiert hat. Da beim Kauf Deutsch gesprochen wurde, kam eine zusätzliche Bescherung - Bonbons, selbst gemacht - dazu!
Auf der Rückkehr nach Šiauliai begann es zu schneien. Es fiel ein, dass die Girliandengewölbe, die über dem Christbaum von Vilnius eingerichtet sind, wären gerade richtig auch für den kleinen Weihnachtsmarkt im Stadtbezirk Šimšė. Besonders für einen Christbaum da, der eine Dame mit einem Rock aus Tannenzweigen, geschmückt mit Kugeln, darstellt.
Und wo finden die berühmtesten Weihnachtsmärkte der Welt statt, in denen die Weihnachtsmänner einkaufen? Früher sollten sie Weihnachtsgeschenke selbst gebastelt haben, aber es ist lange her.
Da es schneit, gibt es auch keine Sterne. Aber es gibt einen Adventstee!

Na, gamta tiesiog žaidžia: jau vėl šaltukas, gal ir vėl snigs?
Šiandien reikia kuo greičiau atsidaryti Advento kalendoriaus langelį (jau dešimtą!), išgerti kavą, pasigauti kokią nors J. S. Leco mintį, žvilgtelėti į "Kalėdų džiaugsmus" ir leistis į kelionę link Vilniaus.

O Kalėdų eglė pati elegantiškiausia, kokią kada nors teko matyti! Tikra Kalėdų paslaptis, apgaubta tviskančiu girliandu ažūru. Įspūdingiausiai ji atrodo nuotraukose iš aukštai: tarsi apsivilkusi tobula
J. Statkevičiaus sukurta ažūrine suknia - tenepyksta už tuos žodžius jos kūrėjai.
Kartą metuose prieš Kalėdas susitinkam Vilniuje su viena ar kita kursioke. Sutariam susitikti prie pasakų namelio, kur pardavinėjami vokiški meduoliai, nes studijavom vokiečių kalbą (Vilniaus universitete). Pasirodo, to namelio savininkai, pernai su dideliu pasisekimu viešėję Japonijoje, panoro jį atsigabenti ir į Lietuvą, į Vilnių. Bet netilpo į koncepciją prie tobulos Vilniaus Kalėdų eglės ir turėjo įsikurti atokiau nuo jos. Kadangi pirkdami užkalbinome vokiškai, tai prie pirkinių gavom dar ir saldainių, pačių padarytų ir maloniai nudžiugom.
Grižus į Šiaulius pradėjo snigti. Važuojant pro Šimšės kalėdinį miestelį, kilo mintis, kad girliandų ažūras, po kuriuo slėpiasi daugelis kalėdinių mugių, būtų reikalingas ir šiam miesteliui. Ir čia stovinčiai poniai, pasipuošusiai sijonu, padarytu iš eglės šakų, ant kurių sukabinti stiklo burbulai. Ir Kalėdų Seniui, kuris, akivaizdu, jau lankėsi čia, nes užmiršo kepurę, kurią tuoj užklos sniego patalai.
Ankščiau Kalėdų Seniai dovanas gamindavo savo dirbtuvėse, o dabar, sako, dažniausiai, apsiperka garsiausiose pasaulyje Kalėdų mugėse. O kur jos vyksta? (Atsakymas rytoj).
Šiandien sninga, tad dangus ir vėl be žvaigždžių. Bet Advento arbata čia kaip čia!

Advent is the beginning of the Western liturgical year and commences on the fourth Sunday before Christmas.
The term is a version of the Latin word meaning 'coming'. Advent is a season observed in many Western Christian churches as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas.
For the others it's a time of preparation for the celebration of New Year and waiting for Christmas gifts that - let's hope - will bring Santa Claus or the Christchild. It's a time to stop a moment and to think maybe you need to start a new life?
In Lithuania, the Advent was always a quiet time to pray, to fast and to sing, but not to celebrate. It was a time of waiting for the winter solstice and observing the changes of nature. For the elder generation it is still strange that Christmas preparation begins already in November.
If you would like to have a good time at Christmas you have to read 'The Little Book of Christmas Joys: 432 things to do for yourself and others that just might make this the best Christmas ever' by H. Jackson Brown, Jr., Rosemary Brown & Kathy Peel that is translated into Lithuanian. No one will use all the suggestions, but there's plenty of good ones for anyone.
You can study the sentences of the famous and not so famous people too. You need to have an Advert calendar as well as the calendar of the Christmas events that you can find in every Lithuanian city and village.
So let's wait for Christmas with the sentences of J. S. Lec, the Polish poet and satirist, with American suggestions for Christmas as well as with German Advent calendars, filled with Austrian chocolates and English tea.
Let's visit events that offer the Christmas programme of Šiauliai, the fourth largest city of Lithuania.
DIE ADVENTSZEIT
Die Adventszeit fängt vier Wochen vor dem Weihnachtsfest an. Das Wort stammt aus dem Lateinischen
und bedeutet "Ankunft". Damit beginnt für das Christentum das neue Kirchenjahr und die Christen bereiten sich auf die Geburt von Jesus Christus vor.
Für alle andere weihnachtet es auch und "von drauß', vom Walde" kommt der Weihnachtsmann wieder, und "droben aus dem Himmelstor sieht das Chriskind schon hervor". "Und alt und jung sollen nun von der Jagd des Lebens einmal ruhn..."

In Litauen war die Adventszeit immer eine ruhige Zeit, in der nicht gefeiert wurde. Es wurde gebetet, gefastet und gesungen in der Erwartung der Wintersonnenwende. Es wurde die Natur beobachtet und danach geraten, was das kommende Jahr bringt.
Für die ältere Generation ist es immer noch komisch, dass der Weihnachtsbetrieb schon Anfang Dezember anfängt.
Aber er fängt ja an! Beim Morgenkaffee wäre es ratsam wieder im Büchlein "Weihnachtsfreuden" (The Little Book of Christmas Joys von H. Jackson Brown, Jr., Rosemary Brown & Kathy Peel) zu blätttern. Man könnte sich auch an Gedanken der berühmten Menschen erinnern. Man muss unbedingt einen Adventskalender kaufen sowie einen Veranstaltungskalender für Weihnachtszeit holen, was in jeder litauischen Stadt zu finden ist.
Wollen wir nun auf Weihnachten mit den Gedanken des polnischen Dichters und Satirikers J. S. Lec, mit amerikanischen weihnachtlichen Ratschlägen sowie mit den Adventskalendern deutscher Herkunft, gefüllt mit österreichischen Schokoladen sowie englischem Tee, warten. Wollen wir auch die Weihnachtsveranstaltungen besuchen, die in Šiauliai, in der viertgrößten Stadt Litauens, reich angeboten werden.
ADVENTAS
Vėl Adventas! Ir anot vieno T. Štormo eilėraščio - jau Kalėdų angelas leidžiasi nuo dangaus vartų link Žemės, jau Kalėdų Senis atžingsniuoja iš tolimų tolių. "Skubėk, skubėk, jau dega žvakės, jau dangaus vartai atverti",- sako jam angelas, o žmonėms primena: "Sustokite visi - seni, jauni, sulėtinkite tempą - jau artinas Kalėdos!"
Adventu, kuris lotyniškai reiškia "atėjimą", viskas ir prasideda. Tikintiesiems Adventas yra naujų liturginių metų ir Kalėdų ciklo pradžia. Šitos 4 savaitės - tai vilties metas, kai laukiama Kristaus gimimo. Kai žmogus atsigręžia į kitą žmogų. Kai ateina pajautimas: Adventas kiekvienam - šiandien, dabar ir čia...
Seniau Lietuvoje per Adventą žmonės nedirbo sunkių darbų ir neorganizavo jokių linksmybių. Pagonybės laikais buvo meldžiamasi Žemėpačiui, ūkio bei gyvulių globėjui, ir derliaus deivei Žemynai. Tapę krikščionimis lietuviai per Adventą pasnikaudavo: nevalgydavo mėsos, kiaušinių bei pieno produktų. Tokiu būdu apvalydavo kūną ir sielą, tapdavo stipresni, mažiau sirgdavo. Vakarais melsdavosi, giedojo giesmes ir laukė, kada saulė atsigręš į žemę. Advento laikotarpiu lietuviai mėgo stebėti gamtą ir iš to spręsdavo, kokie bus kiti metai. Ir dabar vyresnė karta dar nesusitaikė su tuo, kad jau Advento laikotarpiu prasideda didžiulis kalėdinis šurmulys. Nors Lietuvoje jis prasideda gerokai vėliau nei kitose pasaulio šalyse, kur jau lapkričio viduryje kyla kalėdinių pirkinių bumas, kalėdinių mugių šėlsmas ir gyvenimo džiaugsmas čia ir dabar.
Ar įmanomas toks džiugesys lietuviškoje rimtyje? Įmanomas, sako H. Jackson'as (jaun.) ir savo miniatiūrinėje knygutėje "Kalėdų džiaugsmai" pateikia 428 patarimus, kaip padaryti Kalėdas linksmiausias sau ir kitiems. It is Advent again! It's a time to search 'The Little Book of Christmas Joys (by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.,
Rosemary Brown & Kathy Peel) again. During the morning coffee, I review this book at the beginning of every Advent.
The first helpful advices for today could be:

#73--Remember three rules for the Christmastime: 1) Plan on doing sth. in advance; 2) Set to work early;

Let's do such a day today because it is the 1st Sunday of Advent. If you don't have an Advent wreath at home you can go to a church and light the first Advent Candle here.
One Advent custom is perfect because you don't need to do something. Since the 1st Sunday of Advent, you need only to observe the sky 12 nights (it isn't necessarily one afte the other) and to search the brightest star on it. When you 'collect' 12 stars, go to your bed without talking to someone. In the night you will see a prophetic dream...
When you watch the stars you can think about a pleasant history or a pleasant event happened in your life.

DER 27.11.2016: DER ERSTE ADVENTSSONNTAG
So, der Advent fängt wieder an!
Und man fängt beim Morgenkaffee mit dem schon erwähnten Büchlein "Weihnachtsfreuden" an.
Ein paar Ratschläge davon kann man sich gleich merken:
#16-- Keine Verzweifelung, wenn man an Geld mangelt! Seid schöpferisch! Später überzeugt ihr euch, dass man die schönsten Erinnerungen an die Weihnachten hat, bei denen man am wenigsten Geld hatte.--
#73--Merkt euch drei Regeln für die Feiertage: 1) Plant im voraus eure Arbeiten; 2) Fangt früh damit an;
3) Macht nicht aus einer Mücke einen Elefanten!--
Kaum das Büchlein gerührt, fliegt der erste Zettel von den vielen drin gesteckten Zetteln heraus, wo Gedanken der berühmten und nicht so berühmten Menschen aufgeschrieben sind:

Wollen wir solchen Tag heute haben, denn es ist der 1. Adventssonntag. Wenn man keinen Adventskranz hat, kann man zur Kirche gehen und dort die erste Adventskerze anzüden.
Für den Adventsabend passt ein Weihnachtsbrauch besonders gut, denn man braucht nichts zu machen. Seit dem
1. Adventssonntag beobachtet man den Himmel 12 Nächte (nicht unbedingt der Reihe nach), wobei man nach dem hellsten Stern sucht. Nachdem man 12 Sterne gesehen hat, geht man zu Bett, ohne mit jemandem zu sprechen. In der Nacht träumt man einen prophetischen Traum...
Beim Beobachten der Sterne kann man sich an eine angenehme Geschichte oder an ein angenehmes Ereignis im Leben erinnern. Und laut dem berühmten dänischen Schriftsteller H. Ch. Andersen - "Reisen - das ist das Leben!"

Taigi, vėl Adventas! Ir vėl reikia ieškoti "Kalėdų džiaugsmų" knygelės, kurią malonu pavartyti kasryt geriant kavą.
Vos palietus "Džiaugsmus" išskrenda vienas iš daugybės lapukų, kurių prikimšta knygutė ir kuriuose surašytos garsių ir nelabai garsių žmonių mintys:

O vakarais galima stebėti gamtą. Vienas kalėdinis paprotys, susijęs su gamta, tiksliau su dangumi, ypač geras, nes nereikia nieko daryti. Prasidėjus Adventui 12 naktų stebėti dangų išsirenkant po 1 šviesiausią žvaigždę. Praėjus 12 naktų ir pamačius 12 žvaigždžių su niekuo nekalbėti ir eiti miegoti: tada bus susapnuotas svarbus ir pranašingas sapnas.
Šiandien viena tokia žvaigždė jau užfiksuota!
Tiesa, žvelgiant į žvaigždę galima prisiminti kokią nors malonią gyvenimo istoriją.
O gyventi, anot garsiojo danų rašytojo H. K. Anderseno, tai reiškia keliauti, tebūnie ji šiandien apie keliones:

It's a suggestion for Americans, although I was there too. But today, you don't need to go to New York because New York came to Šiauliai. In the Concert Hall "Saulė" takes place the Jazz Concert "With love from New York" with four musicians from New York and one from Lithuania.
New York is the Christmas capital of America, famous with the really beautiful Christmas trees. But!
But Lithuanian Christmas trees can really compete with it and in Europe there are also interesting places for the Christmas holiday too (read more: http://nijolife.blogspot.lt/2015/12/2015-gruodis-deczember-eu-usa.html).
What I missed in New York at Christmas of last year it was snow. But today it is snowing and snowing in Šiauliai, in Northern Lithuania. It doesn't matter that the snow covered all the stars in the sky...

Das ist ein Rat für Amerikaner, obwohl ich dort auch war. Aber heute braucht man nicht nach New York zu fahren, denn heute kommt New York nach Šiauliai. Im Konzertsaal "Saulė" findet Jazzkonzert "Mit Liebe aus New York" statt, wo vier Musikanten aus New York und einer aus Litauen auftreten.
New York ist die Weihnachtshauptstadt von Amerika, die durch äußerst schöne Weihnachtsbäume berühmt ist. Aber litauische Christbäume können damit richtig konkurrieren, und in Europa gibt es auch wirklich interessante Gegenden für Weihnachten

Was im weihnachtlichen New York voriges Jahr gefehlt hat, war der Schnee. Nun aber schneit es und schneit es in Šiauliai, in Nordlitauen. Es tut wirklich nicht leid, dass der Schnee alle Sterne am Himmel bedeckt hat.

Niujorko dvasią kiekvienas suvokia skirtingai, bet sutariama dėl vieno, kad Niujorkas - Amerikos Kalėdų sostinė. Ten labai prabangios Kalėdų eglės, bet ramia širdimi galima pasakyti: lietuviškosios tikrai nenusileidžia! Ko pernai labai trūko kalėdiniam Niujorke - tai sniego! O štai Šiauliuose šiandien sninga ir sninga... Ir tikrai negaila, kad sniegas uždengė visas žvaigždes!

The nature already took the initiative with such lush snowdrifts that you don't have enough words to express it!
Today you can have a really Christmas walk through the snow-covered streets and avenues. The supermarkets and shops already shine in all Christmas colors. By the school, which windows are decorated with Christmas angels, one can see the strange fog over the snow-covered school stadium. It's very interesting for children discovered it!
Between the snow-covered trees you can see the window of a privat house with an advent wreath that isn't very popular in Lithuania. In the 1st week of Advent is lighed one candle of the Advent wreath, in the 2nd week - two candles, in the 3rd week - three candles and in the 4th week - four candles. If you see 5 lighting candles of an advent wreath it means that somebody didn't notice Christmas...
And what is with the stars today? It's O. K., because the 2nd star is discovered!

Nordlitauen liegt absolut im Schnee!!! Der weiße Tag fängt mit schwarzem Kaffee, einem Gedankem von J. S. Lec und dem 159. Rat aus dem Büchlein "Weihnachtsfreuden"an:
WARUM SCHREIBE ICH SO KURZ? DENN MIR FEHLEN EINFACH DIE WORTE (J. S.LEC, 1909-1966).
#159--Wartet nicht, bis jemand Weihnachtsfreuden für euch bereitet. Ergreift die Initiative selbst!--
Die Natur ergriff schon die Initiative mit solchen üppigen Schneedecken, dass es einfach die Worte fehlen! Die beste Weihnachtsstimmung heute wäre ein langer Spaziergang durch verschneite Straßen und Alleen. Die Supermärkte und Geschäfte glänzen schon in allen Weihnachtsfarben. Aus einer Lehranstalt, die ihre Fenster mit Weihnachtsengeln dekoriert hat, sieht man Kinder herauslaufen und im komischen Nebel über dem verschneiten Stadion verschwinden. Nur sehr wenige private Häuser haben sich weihnachtlich geschmückt. Zwischen den verschneiten Bäumen ist ein Adventskranz im Fenster eines Hauses zu sehen, was nicht typisch für Litauen ist. In der 1. Adventswoche zündet man darauf eine Kerze an, in der 2. Woche - zwei Kerzen, in der 3. Woche - drei und in der 4. Woche - vier. Wenn darauf 5 Kerzen brennen, hat man Weihnachten schon versäumt...
Und wie steht es heute mit den Sternen? Wunderbar! Der 2. Stern ist schon entdeckt.

Šiaurės Lietuva - absoliučiai baltam sniego patale!!! Prasideda balta diena su juoda kava, J. S. Leco mintimis

#59--Nelaukite, kol kas kitas ims skleisti Kalėdų džiaugsmą. Patys imkitės iniciatyvos.--
Gamta jau ėmėsi iniciatyvos ir viską apgaubė tokiais kalėdiniais patalais, kad tiesiog trūksta žodžių. Šiandien niekur negausi didesnės Kalėdų dozės, kaip vaikščiodamas apsnigtomis gatvėmis ir alėjomis. O žmonių iniciatyvos dar nedaug. Tiesa, parduotuvės jau tviska visomis kalėdinėmis spalvomis. Štai ir pirmoji mokymo įstaiga, kurios langai išdekoruoti kalėdiniais angelais. Iš jos pabirę vaikai nuskubėjo patyrinėti keistą rūką, pakilusį virš sniegu užkloto stadiono. Tarp snieguotų medžių išniro namas, kurio langą puošia Advento vainikas. 1-ąją Advento savaitę ant jo uždegama viena žvakė, 2-ąją - dvi, 3-ąją - trys, 4-ąją - keturios, o jei dega penkios žvakės - vadinasi, Kalėdas pražiopsojai...
O kaip žvaigždės? Dangus - ūke, bet žvaigždės matosi ir jau antroji žvaigždė užfiksuota.

The main event today, it is visiting of the supermarkets to look after Christmas gifts as well as to buy an Advent calendar, because tomorrow is December 1. An Advent calendar is a special calendar used to count or celebrate the days before Christmas. Many Advent calendars take the form of a large rectangular card with 24 'windows'. Consecutive windows are opened every day leading up to Christmas, beginning on December 1.
The calendar windows open to reveal an image, a poem, a portion of a story or a small gift, such as a toy or a chocolate item. There are many variations of it, including social media Advent calendars. Many towns have created living Advent calendars.
In Lithuanian supermarkets usually you can buy German Advent calendars with chocolates. But today I discovered the calendars from Austria decorated with angels as well with Santa Claus. After I bought the 'Santa Claus' with chocolates I remembered that at home it's an Advent calendar with English tea. It doesn't matter! In the morning you can enjoy the Advent chocolate and in the evening - Advent tea.
And how is with the stars today? It's wonderful because you could discover already the third star!
And what about the story? It can be about the stars that you find in the internet yourself!

Die Weihnachtsstimmung, die von der Natur geschenkt wird, muss man hier und jetzt genießen.
Draußen ist es noch weiß, obwohl die warme Nacht die weißen Decken etwas dünner gemacht hat.
Und drinnen wartet Morgenkaffee mit dem Buch "Weihnachtsfreuden" sowie mit den Gedanken von J. S. Lec.

Diesen Rat mit meiner Ergänzung mag ich besonders:

Die Hauptveranstaltung heute wäre der Besuch der Geschäfte, um nach Weihnachtsgeschenken zu gucken, aber auch einen Adventskalender zu kaufen. Morgen ist ja schon der 1. Dezember!
Die Idee des Adventskalenders ist mit der Zeit von 24 Tagen vor dem Heiligabend verbunden. So malten manche früher 24 Kreidestriche an die Tür, von denen dann täglich einer weggewischt wurde. Die anderen versüßten diese Zeit mit 24 Gebäckstücken wie die Familie vom Erfinder des Adventskalenders G. Lang, der den ersten Adventskalender 1908 hergestellt hat. Der Adventskalender ist ein deutscher Brauch, der in der ganzen Welt populär geworden ist.
Es gibt nun die unterschiedlichsten Formen davon, aber die Idee ist dieselbe geblieben: Jeden Tag ein Türchen öffnen! Man kann dahinter eine Schokolade, einen Teebeutel, einen schlauen Gedanken und alles mögliche finden. Am wichtigsten ist es die Geduld: Alles hat seine Zeit und man darf nicht töricht über den Tag hinausgreifen! In unseren Geschäften sind meistens deutsche Adventskalender mit Schokoladen zu kaufen, diesmal aber habe ich welche aus Österreich entdeckt. Die einen sind mit Engeln dekoriert, die anderen - mit dem Weihnachtsmann. Nachdem der "Weihnachtsmann" mit Schokoladen gekauft wurde, erinnerte ich mich dass man zu Hause schon einen Adventskalender hat - einen Teekalender. Macht nichts: Am Morgen wird eine Adventsschokolade gegessen und am Abend - Adventstee getrunken.
Und wie steht'es mit den Sternen heute? Einfach wunderbar - auch der dritte Stern ist schon da!

Šiandienos pagrindinis renginys - parduotuvės, kur reikia apsižvalgyti po kalėdinių dovanų lentynas. Ir nepamiršti Advento kalendoriaus, nes rytoj gruodžio 1 d.
Advento kalendorius idėja kilo fiksuojant 24 dienas, likusias iki Kalėdų. Vienur kiekvieną Advento dieną kabindavo vis naują šventą paveikslą ant sienos, kitur ant durų kreida būdavo nubrėžiami 24 brūkšneliai kasdien vieną jų nutrinant. Dar kitur vaikams 24 dienas iki Kalėdų duodavo po sausainį ir t. t. Šios idėjos įsikūnijo į Advento kalendorių 1908 m. ir nuo tada jis sparčiai išpopuliarėjo daugelyje pasaulio šalių, įgaudamas pačias įvairiausias formas. Bet idėja ta pati: kasdien 24 dienas iki Kalėdų atsidaryti vieną kalendoriaus langelį ir suvalgyti ten rastą šokoladuką ar sausainį, išgerti puodelį arbatos ar kavos iš ten rasto maišelio, galbūt perskaityti kokią įdomią mintį ar sukonstruoti kažką iš rastų detalių ir t. t. Svarbiausia - būti kantriam, mėgautis čia ir dabar ir neužbėgti laikui už akių... Der erste Wintertag in Litauen ist mit etwas Frost auf der Erde und der Sonne am Himmel.
So warten wir nun auf Weihnachten mit den Gedanken des polnischen Dichters und Satirikers J. S. Lec, mit den amerikanischen weihnachtlichen Ratschlägen und mit den Adventskalendern deutscher Herkunft, gefüllt von österreichischen Schokoladen sowie englischem Tee.
WARUM FALLEN WIR VOM MOND IMMER AUF DIESELBE ERDE HERUNTER? (J. S. LEC, 1909-1966).

Das wird später gemacht, nun aber geht man zur Bibliothek der Universität Šiauliai, wo die Ausstellung "Projektion von Weihnachten" bis zum 15. Dezember stattfindet. Wunderbare Wintergestecke ist eine richtige weihnachtliche Entspannung. Das ist eine von mehr als 100 Veranstaltungen, die in Šiauliai zur Weihnachtszeit angeboten werden. Der Tag begann mit dem Adventskalender, indem sein erstes Fenster geöffnet und die dahinter versteckte Schokolade gegessen wurde. Und der Tag endet mit dem Adventskalender, der mit dem berühmten englischen Tee "Cornwall" gefüllt ist. Der Tee passt bestens zur abendlichen Entspannung von 20 Minuten in der Stille oder mit Musik, oder mit Erinnerungen an das vergangene Jahr oder auch mit dem Weihnachtsrätsel, dessen erste Frage folgend sein könnte:
"In welchem Land wurde der Adventskalender erfunden? a) Österreich b) Deutschland c) Großbritannien (Antwort kommt morgen).

North Lithuania is covered with snow, so you could write any word in the snow today. Then you can go to the Christmas market that takes place only a few days in the city centre, decorated for the festivy season with the luminous angels, flowers and birds. And after that all roads lead to the Prisikėlimas-Square, the main square of Šiauliai. Today, there's illuminated citie's largest Christmas tree with the unique garlands of Sun motifs that you can see in the pedestrian area too, because Šiauliai is called 'Sun City'. It's interesting to know, in which country (a. Germany; b. USA; c. France) did the idea originate to illuminate the Christmas trees with electrical garlands?
The answer is tomorrow because now it's time to drink the Advent tea, discovered behind the 2nd window of the Advent calendar. The first Advent Calendar was produced by bookseller Gerhard Lang in 1908 in Munich (Germany). It's a German tradition that has become popular in all the world.
Today one doesn't ask the traditional question 'How is with the stars?', because it is snowing...

Am Fenster fällt wieder der Schnee. Und hinter dem 2. Fenster des Adventskalenders steckt eine Schokolade zum Kaffee und zu den Gedanken von J. S. Lec sowie zum Buch "Weihnachtsfreuden":

Nordlitauen ist weiß bedeckt, so könnte man heute ein beliebiges Wort im Schnee schreiben. Aber dann ist es ratsam auf dem Großen Weihnachtsmarkt im Zentrum von Šiauliai einzukaufen, der nur ein paar Tage dauert. Und danach führen alle Wege zum Hauptplatz von Šiauliai, zum Prisikėlimas-Platz, wo der größte Christbaum der Stadt mit den eigenartigen Girlanden von Sonnenmotiven angeleuchtet wird. Šiauliai nennt man eine Sonnenstadt, so sind Sonnenmotive auch in der Fußgängerzone zu sehen, die auch mit den leuchtenden Figuren der Engel, Blumen und Vögel geschmückt ist.
Es ist interessant, in welchem Land (a. Deutschland; b. USA; c. Frankreich) die ersten elektrisch beleuchteten Weihnachtsbäume aufgestellt wurden? Morgen kommt die Antwort darauf, gefunden beim abendlichen Adventstee, den man hinter dem 2. Fenster des Adventskalenders entdeckt. Und der erste Adventskalender wurde vom gelernten Buchhändler Gerhard Lang im Jahre 1908 in München, in Deutschland hergestellt.
Heute gibt es aber die traditionelle Frage "Wie steht es mit den Sternen?" nicht, denn es schneit wieder...

Šiandien ir pagrindinės Šiaulių eglės uždegimo ceremonija. Ant jos sužimba saulės motyvų girliandos, nes Šiauliai - saulės miestas. Saulės motyvai puošia ir pėsčiųjų gatvę, kurioje taip pat sužibo ir šviesos skulptūros - angelai, gėlės, paukščiai. O kurioje šalyje (a. Vokietija; b. JAV; c. Prancūzija) pirmą kartą Kalėdų eglė buvo papuošta elektrinėmis girliandomis?
Rytoj bus atsakymas, rastas vakarinio 20 min. relakso metu, geriant Advento arbatą, kurios pakuotė buvo atrasta atidarius antrąjį Advento kalendoriaus langelį. Beje, Advento kalendorių pirmą kartą išleido knygų prekeivis Gerhard'as Lang'as 1908 m. Miunchene, Vokietijoje.
O šiandien žvaigždžių danguje nėra - jas uždengė krentančios snaigės....

There are not many people in the Post Office, so it is the right time to send all packages. Then, when you visit the Christmas Market, you have the real possibility to squeeze the hand of Santa Claus and to see yourself that he isn't mirage.
Not mirage is a concert at 6 p.m. today (3.12) - Lithuanian spelling of it would be 12.3.6, that is founding year of Šiauliai. It's because today takes place the final concert, dedicated to the 780th Anniversary of Šiauliai, the fourth largest city of Lithuania. Šiauliai has celebrated it all the year (2016) round.
The final concert, it was a magnificent performance with famous choirs, orchestras, singers and dancers. The history and the present of Šiauliai were presented with music, songs and dances as well as with the impressive visual effects.
After the concert you could continue to enjoy the present of Šiauliai decorated with Christmas festoons and stars. In Šiauliai, the Christmas tree this year is especially beautiful, with new decorations and lights of sun motifs and sunbeams.
By the way, the first Christmas tree, illuminated with electric festoons, was displayed in New York in 1912. So, it isn't such an old tradition as it of Father Christmas. If you would like to know how old is Father Christmas you can find the answer in the picture below: Add together all numbers here and you have the sum (i.e., the age of Santa Claus) you need.
It's enough 20 minutes for this Christmas puzzle in the evening when drinking Advent Tea from the Advent calendar.

Hinter dem Fenster des Hauses herrscht der richtige litauische Winter und hinter dem 3. Fenster des Adventskalenders steckt die richtige Schokolade zum Kaffee, J. S. Lec und "Weihnachtsfreuden".
WENN ES SICH ENTPUPPT, DASS DIE MIRAGE EINE WIRKLICHKEIT IST, MUSS MAN NACH DER ENTSCHÄDIGUNG VERLANGEN (J. S. LEC, 1909-1966).

Auf dem Postamt gibt's nicht viele Menschen, also es ist die richtige Zeit alle Packete abzuschicken. Unterwegs entsteht die Möglichkeit die Hand des Weihnachtsmanns, der auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt bummelt, zu drücken, um sich zu vergewissern, dass er keine Mirage ist.
Nun ist es schon 6 Uhr abends vom 3.12. Die litauische Schreibweise wäre 12, 3, 6 und so bekommt man das Gründungsjahr von Šiauliai (1236). Deshalb findet heute das Abschlusskonzert zum 780. Jubiläum statt, das die viertgrößte Stadt Litauens Šiauliai das ganze Jahr gefeiert hat. Das war eine imposante Aufführung mit Chören, Orchestern, Sängern und Tänzern, die nicht nur in Litauen, sondern auch im Ausland bekannt sind. Die Vergangenheit und die Gegenwart von Šiauliai wurden mit Hilfe von Musik, Liedern, Tänzen und eindrucksvollen visuellen Efekten vorgestellt.
Nach dem Konzert konnte man die Gegenwart von Šiauliai weiter genießen, die nun von Weihnachtsgirlianden beleuchtet ist, die in Fenstern, an Gebäuden und an Christbäumen glimmern. Übrigens, wurden die ersten elektrisch beleuchteten Weihnachtsbäume 1912 in New York aufgestellt. Es war vor etwa 100 Jahren, also nicht so lange her. Und wie alt könnte der Weihnachtsmann sein, kann im Bild unten erfahren: Welche Summe (Alter des Weihnachtsmanns) kommt heraus, wenn man alle Zahlen da addiert?
Für diesen Weihnachtsrätsel reichen 20 Minuten am Abend beim englischen Adventstee vom Adventskalender.

O už trečiojo Advento kalendoriaus langelio laukia tikras minišokoladas prie kavos, J. S. Leco minčių ir "Kalėdų džiaugsmų".

Šiandien - 12 mėn. 3 d. 6 val. (o tai - 1236-ieji, Šiaulių miesto įkūrimo metai) - laukia koncertas, skirtas 1236 m. vykusio Saulės mūšio jubiliejui ir Šiaulių 780-mečiui. Galingos pajėgos - Lietuvoje ir už jos ribų garsūs chorai, dainininkai ir šokėjai kūrė įspūdingą teatralizuotą renginį. Muzika, daina, šokiu ir stulbinančiu vizualiniu fonu buvo perteikta Šiaulių žemės istorija ir dabartis.
Po koncerto buvo galima toliau grožėtis miesto dabartimi, tviskančia nuo švytinčių girliandų languose, ant pastatų bei ant kalėdinių eglių. Beje, pirmą kartą elektrinės girliandos ant Kalėdų eglės buvo uždegtos Niujorke 1912 m. - ne taip jau ir seniai, maždaug prieš 100 metų. O kiek metų galėtų būti Kalėdų Seniui, galima sužinoti šiame paveikslėlyje: Norint sudėti visus čia surašytus skaičius (tai ir būtų Kalėdų Senio amžius) užteks 20 min. vakare, skirtų Advento kalendoriaus arbatai.
Po to - nepamiršti žvilgtelėti į žvaigždes. Šiauliuose - Saulės mieste, dieną švietė ryški saulė, o nakties danguje mirksėjo labai ryškios žvaigždės, tad buvo nesudėtinga susirasti jau penktąją žvaigždę, kuri, be abejo, susijusi su Šiauliais.

In Lithuania, there aren't popular German practices of Advent associated with an Advent wreath. But yo can light two Advent candles in a church too, where you might feel already two angels flying above it. Or do they fly over the Frenkelis Villa of the Museum "Aušra" where is open the exhibition 'Along the parth of mercy: Saints in Art' (17 November, 2016 - 5 February, 2017). The exhibition is dedicated to the Holy Year of Mercy announced by Pope Francis.
In the villa you can see the pictures, wooden sculptures and small gold-plated altars from the museum "Aušra" (Šiauliai), the Art Museum of Lithuania (Vilnius), as well as from churches of Skuodas and Molėtai. Very interesting is the large picture of an unknown painter, painted in oils on copper and called 'Jesus invites children'. It's an invitation to think about Christmas spirit!
One of the saints - Saint Nicholas is connected with Christmas. In which way? (The answer is tomorrow).
And the answer to the yesterday question ('How old is Santa Claus?' ) is short - 176.

DER 4.12.2016: DER ZWEITE ADVENTSSONNTAG
Heute fängt der 2. Advent mit dem sogenannten Kupfernen Sonntag an. Draußen stehen verschneite Bäume und Häuser, und drinnen liegen wie immer die 4. Schokolade aus dem Adventskalender, Zettel mit den Gedanken von J. S. Lec sowie "Weihnachtsfreuden" auf dem Tisch neben Morgenkaffee.

#364--Weihnachten ist die Zeit der alten Traditionen. Lassen wir es sein, wie es ist!--
Die vorweihnachtliche Tradition - der Adventskranz ist ein deutscher Brauch, in Litauen nicht so populär. Aber die zwei Adventskerzen kann man auch in einer Kirche anzünden, wobei man vielleicht spürt, dass schon zwei Engel darüber kreisen?
Oder kreisen die über die Frenkelis-Villa des Museums "Aušra", wo die Ausstellung „Auf dem Wege der Barmherzigkeit: Heilige in der Kunst" ausgestellt ist (bis Februar 2017). Damit wurde der Einladung vom Papst Franziskus gefolgt, der 2016 zum Hl. Jahr der Barmherzigkeit erklärt hat.
In der Ausstellung fällt zuerst das Bild eines unbekannten Malers auf, gemalt im Öl auf einer Kupferplatte. Es heißt "Jesus lädt Kinder zu sich ein" und ist eine Einladung, die am kupfernen Adventssonntag gerade richtig ist.
In der Villa sind Bilder und Holzskulpturen der Heiligen sowohl vom Museum "Aušra" (Šiauliai) als auch vom Kunstmuseum Litauens (Vilnius) ausgestellt. Aber auch kleine vergoldete Altäre für Prozessionen aus den Provinzkirchen vom Kreis Skuodas sowie Molėtai sind hier zu sehen.
Ein Heiliger und zwar der Heilige Nikolaus ist mit Weihnachten verbunden. Auf welche Weise? (Die Antwort kommt morgen).

#281--Visite the historic building decorated festively in your area.--
Until today, all historic buildings of the city were decorated with the snow melt last night. Only the building of the Heating Company "Šiaulių Energija" is decorated with the Christmas lights. Its 60 meters high chimney was lit colourfully a week ago and can compete with the Šiauliai Cathedral which spire, lighhting all year round, is 71 m high. By the way, the building of 'Šiaulių energija' could be a historic building too, because the first boiler here was installed in 1966 - 50 years ago!
It's interesting that chimneys are associated with Father Christmas. If you don't now about it you will find the answer tomorrow because now is the the time for relaxing with Advent tea.
Tomorrow is St. Nicholas' Day (December 6) and St. Nicholas is the prototype of the Father Christmas. It was proved that really Nicholas was the bishop, later declared a Saint of the Greek Church. In Europe, especially in Germany, children put a boot, called Nikolaus-Stiefel (Nikolaus boot), outside the front door on Saint Nicholas Eve in hope that Saint Nicholas will fill it with gifts and sweets overnight.
In Lithuania, we don't celebrate St. Nicolas Day, but who knows?
So let's leave our shoes outside the door too!
And then let's look to the sky - but today there are no stars again!
DER 5. 12.2016: MONTAG
In der Nacht hat es geregnet, so ist die Weihnachtsstimmung draußen getaut. Aber drinnen ist es weihnachtlich mit der 5. Adventsschokolade zum Kaffee sowie mit den "Weihnachtsfreuden", woraus immer ein Gedanke von J. S. Lec herausfliegt:

#281--Besucht ein historisches Gebäude in eurer Gegend, das festlich geschmückt ist.--
Bis jetzt waren alle historischen Gebäude der Stadt nur mit dem Schnee geschmückt, der aber in der Nacht getaut ist. Was nun unter dem Himmel von Šiauliai weihnachtlich glänzt, ist der Schornsten des Heizhauses Süd von "Šiaulių energija". Der Schornstein wird jährlich weihnachtlich beleuchtet und ist von Weitem zu sehen, denn mit sener Höhe von 60 Metern kann er mit dem Turm des Domes von Šiauliai richtig konkurrieren, der 71 m hoch ist (mit dem Kreuz - 76 m).
Übrigens könnte das Heizungshaus Süd schon ein historisches Gebäude sein, denn der erste Heizkessel da wurde 1966 - also, vor 50 Jahren - in Betrieb gesetzt.
Und Schornsteine sind direkt mit den Weihnachtsmännern verbunden. Wie? Die Antwort kommt morgen, denn nun ist die Atempause mit dem Adventstee zu machen.
Morgen ist Nikolaustag, und Hl. Nikolaus ist ein Prototyp des Weihnachtsmannnes gewesen. Einen Nikolaus hat es nachweislich gegeben: Er war ein wundertätiger Bischof und schließlich Heiliger der griechischen Kirche.
In Deutschland stellt man am Vorabend des 6. Dezembers Stiefel vor die Tür in der Hoffnung, dass Nikolaus sie mit Süßigkeiten und Obst füllt. In Litauen ist dieser Brauch nicht bekannt, aber wer weiß, vielleicht kommt Nikolaus vorbei?
Wollen wir unsere Schuhe draußen vor die Tür stellen!

Visi miesto istoriniai pastatai kol kas buvo papuošti tik baltais snieguotais stogais, bet sniegas šiandien nutirpo. Vienintelis pastatas, kuris švyti Šiaulių padangėje, yra "Šiaulių energijos" Pietinės katilinės kaminas, kuris kasmet per Adventą papuošiamas lempučių girliandomis ir taip žaižaruoja iki Kalėdų. Beje, Pietinė katilinė jau galėtų būti istorinis pastatas, nes jos pirmas katilas buvo paleistas 1966 metais. Taigi, prieš 50 metų - o tai jau jubiliejus! Kamino aukštis buvo 45 metrai, bet po rekonstrukcijos
2014 m. jis padidėjo iki 60 m. Taigi, kaminas beveik pasivijo Šiaulių katedros bokštą, kurio aukštis 71 m (su kryžiumi - 76 m).
Beje, kaminai yra susijęs su Kalėdų seniu. Kaip? Atsakymas bus rytoj.
Kalėdų senio prototipas yra Šv. Mikalojus. Rytoj yra jo vardo diena, kuri yra ypatinga Vokietijoje: visi laukia Mikalojaus dovanų, kurias jis palieka batuose. Tad iš vakaro visi padeda savo batus prie durų.

The story about Santa Claus is it a lie or a creative work? In the old times, you needed to be very creative to imagine that Father Christmas can come to the inside of the house through its chimney. Today the chimneys are too thin for Father Christmas...
In Germany, you can see the 'brother' of Father Christmas already at the 6. December, on St. Nicholas' Day. Even the tourist, who has no idea of St. Nicholas', can get a small gift when he meets him. Although Nicholas wears the same clothes as Father Christmas but it is only his prototype because he brings only small gifts. The tradition of "Nicholas" is very old while Father Christmas, that brings big gifts at Christmas, became popular in Northern Germany only in 19th century. Father Christmas is originally from America (Santa Claus). In many areas of Southern Germany, the Christmas gift-bringer is not Father Christmas but the Christchild.
The story about Christmas gift-bringer is so creative that you need 20 hours for it. But not 20 minutes during the Advent tea in the evening! The most important thing of this imaginative story is the real result - Christmas gifts! It would be interesting to know how old is the tradition of Christmas gifts? The answer is tomorrow because now you need to study the program of Christmas events in Šiauliai and then to look to the sky. No stars!

Die Natur fängt mit dem Winter von Anfang an. Gestern ist der Schnee getaut und heute nacht ist der Boden wieder gefroren und ein wenig weiß bedeckt. Drinnen gibt es keine Veränderung: Morgenkaffee mit der 6. Adventsschokolade, "Weihnachtsfreuden" sowie mit einem Gedanken von J. S. Lec:

Die Geschichte des Weihnachtsmanns - ist es eine Lüge oder ein Schaffen?
Richtig schöpferisch musste man in den alten Zeiten sein, um sich auszudenken, dass Weihnachtsmänner durch Schornsteine in Häuser geraten können. Nun sind die Schornsteine zu dünn dazu...
In Deutschland werden die "Brüder" der Weihnachtsmänner schon am 6. Dezember, am Nikolaustag erwartet. Sogar ein Tourist, der keine Ahnung vom Nikolaustag hat, bekommt hier ein kleines Geschenk, wenn er Nikolaus begegnet. Obwohl Nikolaus dieselben Kleider trägt wie der Weihnachtsmann, aber er ist nur sein Prototyp, denn Nikolaus bringt nur kleine Geschenke. Bekommt man Geschenke von Nikolaus, ist es zu erwarten, dass man auch große Geschenke vom Weihnachtsmann zu Weihnachten erhält. Die Tradition des "Nikolaus" ist schon sehr alt, während die vom "Weihnachtsmann" erst im 19. Jh. aufkam und in Norddeutschland sehr populär wurde. Der Weihnachtsmann kommt ursprünglich aus Amerika, wo er "Santa Claus" genannt wird. In vielen Gegenden Süddeutschlands bringt aber das "Christkind" die Geschenke am Weihnachtstag.
Die Geschichte des Weihnachtsmanns ist so lang, dass 20 Minuten beim abendlichen Adventstee richtig zu kurz dafür sind. Man braucht wenigstens 20 Stunden! Am wichtigsten ist es, dass das Ergebnis dieser fantasievollen Geschichte sehr real ist: Weihnachtsgeschenke! Wann ist aber die Tradition der Weihnachtsgeschenke entstanden? Die Antwort kommt morgen, und nun braucht man noch im Programm der Weihnachtsveranstaltungen von Šiauliai zu blättern. Und dann noch zum Himmel zu gucken. Der wievielte Stern wäre es schon? Keiner, denn der Himmel ist auch heute sternenlos.

Gamta ėmėsi žiemos darbo iš naujo: vakar visą sniegą nutirpdė, o šiąnakt vėl sušaldė žemę padengdama ją šerkšnu. Viduje jau garuoja kava, pasaldoma šeštuoju Advento šokoladu, papildoma "Kalėdų džiaugsmais" ir J. S. Leco mintimis:
GRAŽUS MELAS? DĖMESIO! TAI JAU KŪRYBA! (J.S. LECAS, 1909-1966).

Kalėdų senelio melas - tai iš tikro kūryba, todėl senais laikais Kalėdų Senis patekdavo į namus per kaminus. Dabar kaminai per ploni ir Kalėdų senis pro juos nebepralenda. O jo "broliukas", vardu Mikalojus, ypač laukiamas Vokietijoje gruodžio 6 d., per Mikalojaus vardadienį (Nikolaustag). Ir jis ateina, o apie tokią dieną nieko nežinantis turistas nustemba, kas čia dabar? Šią dieną Vokietijoje tikrai galima sulaukti ir anoniminės picos, o jau saldumynais apsidalija tikrai visi - nuo šalies kanclerių iki darželinukų.
Nors Mikalojus apsirengęs kaip Kalėdų Senis, bet jis yra tik jo pranašas, nes atneša nedideles dovanas, daugiausia saldumynus. Jeigu gavai dovanėlių nuo Mikalojaus, tai tikėtina, kad didelių dovanų gausi ir nuo Kalėdų Senio per Kalėdas. Jeigu nieko negavai, vadinasi blogai elgeisi, ir būsi perspėtas piktojo Mikalojaus palydovo Ruprecht'o. Bet dar bus laiko iki Kalėdų pasitaisyti. Tiesą sakant, Kalėdų Senis Vokietijoje pasirodė tik 19 a. (tradicija atkeliavo iš Amerikos) ir išpopuliarėjo šiaurinėje Vokietijoje, tuo tarpu Pietų Vokietijoje dovanas per Kalėdas atskraidina Kristaus kūdikėlis angelo pavidalu.
Kalėdų Senio istorija ilga ir jai reikėtų 20 valandų, o ne 20 min. geriant vakarinę Advento arbatą. Svarbiausia, kad Kalėdų Senio fantazijos vaisius yra realus: Kalėdų dovanos. O kada atsirado Kalėdų dovanų tradicija? Atsakymas rytoj, o šiandien dar reikia pavartyti kalėdinių renginių programą Šiauliuose, o po to žvilgtelėti į žvaigždes, bet jos ir šiandien danguje nepasirodė...

There are many sorts of coffee and its preparation ways. The special coffee is made from coffee beans of fresh harvest, roasted not earlier than two weeks ago and grinded before the preparation. Let's hope you have a time for such a magical coffee at Christmas! Any way, coffee is a good Christmas gift!
The tradition of Christmas gifts is very old. Probably it comes from the ancient Rome. In the Middle Ages, it was banned by the church as a pagan remains. But in the 16th century, it became popular the Christmas present for children, included a coin, sweets, toys, clothes and school things. Later, the present included so many things that it was needed the help of Santa Claus or Christ Child. And how do these helpers know which Christmas gift do you want? (The answer is tomorrow).

Heute gibt es 5 Weihnachtsveranstaltungen in den Bibliotheken und Kulturzentren, und drei - in der Buchhandlung "Žiburys". Zwei davon sind mit den Büchern verbunden und eine heißt "Magie der Kaffeevorbereitung".
Es gibt sehr viele Kaffeesorten und dessen Vorbereitungsmöglichkeiten. Besonderen Kaffee bekommt man, wenn man es aus Kaffeebohnen von frischer Ernte macht, geröstet nicht früher als vor zwei Wochen und gemahlen vor der Vorbereitung. Vielleicht findet man Zeit für solche Kaffeemagie wenigstens zu Weihnachten? Auf jeden Fall Kaffee ist ein gutes Weihnachtsgeschenk!
Die Bescherung ist ein Brauch, der vermutlich aus dem alten Rom stammt. Im Mittelalter wurde das Schenken zu Weihnachten so populär, dass es die Kirche Mitte des 15. Jhs als heidnisches Überbleibsel amtlich verbot. Dennoch: Schon Mitte des 16. Jhs war die "Christbürde" genannte Kinderbescherung üblich, wozu ein Geldstück, Nascherei, Spielzeug, Kleiderstücke und Schulsachen gehören. Später wurden die Gaben so zahlreich, dass man dabei die Hilfe eines Weihnachtsmanns oder eines Christkindes brauchte. Und wie erfahren diese Helfer, welche Weihnachtsgeschenke gebracht werden müssen? (Darüber morgen).
Nach dem Adventstee am Abend stellt man fest, dass es auch heute keine Sterne am Himmel gibt.

O ką galėtų pasiūlyti Šiaulių kalėdinė programa, kurioje apie 100 renginių: Kalėdų mugės, spektakliai, koncertai (nuo klasikos iki moderno), parodos (nuo miniatiūrų iki Šventųjų), kalėdinės akcijos ir dirbtuvės bibliotekose ir galerijose, kalėdiniai sporto renginiai ir susitikimai su garsiais Lietuvos žmonėmis. Didžioji dauguma renginių - nemokami.
Šiandien 5 kalėdiniai renginiai laukia bibliotekose bei kultūros centruose, o trys - "Žiburio knygyne". Du iš jų susiję su knygomis, o vienas - su kava. Tai - "Huracan coffe" edukacija "Kavos ruošimo magija". Hurakanas yra majų dievas, kurio valioje - vėjai ir audros, o kavos firmos, pasivadinusios jo vardu, valioje pasirinkti kavo ruošimo filosofiją. Galimybių paruošti kavą - tiek pat gausu kaip ir kavos rūšių. Dešimtys skonių, poskonių ir pojūčių skleidžiasi skirtingai, naudojant skirtingus būdus. Ypatinga kava išverdama tik tuomet, kai pupelės yra šviežio derliaus, paskrudintos ne seniau nei prieš dvi savaites, o sumaltos prieš pat vartojimą. Gerai tai sužinoti, dar geriau būtų šito nepamiršti. Gal kada nors bus galima turėti tiek laiko, kad jo liks ir magiškai kavai paruošti. Gal net per šias Kalėdas? Bet kuriuo atveju ir kava, ir knyga puikiausios dovanos Kalėdoms.
Kalėdų dovanų tradicija yra labai sena, turbūt kilusi iš Romos laikų, kai valdovai gaudavo naujametines dovanas iš pavaldinių. Viduramžiais ši tradicija taip paplito, kad 15 a. bažnyčia ją uždraudė kaip pagonišką reliktą. Bet jau 16 a. buvo įprasta vaikams per Kalėdas dovanoti "Kristaus laiknešėlį", kuriame turėjo būti žaislas, rūbas, mokyklinis reikmuo, pinigas ir saldumynas. Bet labai greitai dovanos nebetilpo į laiknešėlį ir buvo pradėtos dėti po egle. O į pagalbą atėjo ir Kalėdų Senis, ir Kristaus kūdikis angelo pavidalu. O kaip jie sužino, kokių dovanų norima? All day was connected with doing of a kidness, so one has very little time for the Christmas Programme, that offers 5 events today. It's why it was planned a very short visit only to the little Christmas market in the city district Šimšė. But the visit continued 3 hours because of the Ice Queens and interesting Christmas trees (created by students) as well as because of Santa Claus and the funny concert, included magical winter songs, dancing snow flakes and stars and the Lithuanian pop stars Radži and
B. Dambrauskaitė. The concert ended with the best Christmas wishes and fireworks!
After the Christmas Concert, Santa Claus asked whether the audience would like something more?
'Christmas gifts!' - it was the answer of the audience.
'Write me a letter to know which Christmas gifts would be required! Do you know where I live?'
Tomorrow, it's the answer to this question of Santa Claus. And now you need to drink Advent tea and to look to the sky. Very sad, but no stars tonight too!
DER 8.12.2016: DONNERSTAG
Das Eis hat in der Nacht getaut und nur der Adventskalender erinnert daran, dass es weihnachtet.
Es wird schon das 8. Fensterchen geöffnet, d. h., ein Drittel der Schokoladen ist schon gegessen. Und was sagt J. S. Lec dazu?
WAS IST EIN CHAOS? DAS IST EINE ORDNUNG, ZERSTÖRT BEI DER SCHÖPFUNG DER WELT

Und die "Weihnachtsfreuden" sind mit den Gedanken über andere Menschen verbunden:
#80--Erinnert euch daran, dass die Festesdepression durch eine Wohltat am besten geheilt wird.--
Der Tag ist mit Wohltaten verbunden, aber auch mit Geschenken sowie göttlichem "Adventssekt" (Dessert aus dickem Moorbeerengetränk mit Schlagsahne).
Das Weihnachtsprogramm bot heute 5 Veranstaltungen an, aber es gab wenig Zeit dafür. So wurde nur ein kurzer Besuch zum kleinen Weihnachtsmarkt im Stadtbezirk Šimšė geplant, aber es hat dort ... 3 Stunden gedauert: wegen der Eisköniginnen und fantasievoller Weihnachtsbäume (geschaffen von Studierenden); wegen des Weihnachtsmanns (der allen konnte, sogar Gymnastikübungen) und wegen des Kozerts mit den magischen Winterliedern, tanzenden Schneeflocken und Sternen. Aber besonders wegen des Auftritts der litauischen Popstars Radži ("Lebensfreude hier und jetzt und schnell") und B. Dambrauskaitė ("Es ist die Zeit an seine Fehler, unerfüllte Hoffnungen und Träume zu denken..."). Alles endete mit den besten Weihnachtswünschen und Feuerwerken!
Nach dem Weihnachtskonzert hat der Weihnachtsmann gefragt, ob das Publikum noch etwas möchte?
"Weihnachtsgeschenke! " war die Antwort, worauf der Weihnachtsmann reagierte:
"Schreibt mir einen Brief oder einen Wunschzettel, um zu wissen, welche Geschenke gewünscht werden! Wisst ihr, wo ich wohne?"
Die Antwort auf diese Frage des Weihnachtsmanns kommt morgen.
Und für heute gibt es noch Adventstee und die Sterne, die auch heute am Himmel nicht erschienen sind.

Lietus per naktį pilnai ištirpdė ledą, tad lauke - ankstyvojo pavasario potvynis. O Advento kalendorius ant sienos primena, kad artėja Kalėdos: atidaromas jau 8 langelis ir trečdalis advento šokoladų jau suvalgyta. O ką ta proga pasakytų J. S. Lecas?

Diena susijusi su labdaringais darbais, o gerus dabus reikia daryti tyliai. Bet jų dėka teko paragauoti dieviško "Advento šampano", deserto iš tiršto spanguolių kisieliaus su grietinėle, bei gauti vaikų rankomis pagamintą angelą.
O Šiaulių kalėdinėje programoje šiandien 5 renginiai: pora advento vakarų, kalėdinės dirbtuvėlės, dar viename miesto rajone bus įžiebta eglė, o štai kitame - Šimšėje, prie ŠPRC Buitinių paslaugų skyriaus - bus atidarytas kalėdinis miestelis. Kadangi jis pakeliui, buvo planuota užbėgti 3 minutėms, bet pasilikta čia visas 3 valandas. Ir dėl Kalėdų mugės, ir dėl kalėdinių eglių (kokias gali sukurti tik neribota moksleiviška fantazija), ir dėl Kalėdų Senio (kuris mokėjo viską ir mokė daryti mankštą), ir dėl stingdančių Ledo karalienių aplinkui...
Ir dėl koncerto, kuriame moksleivių kolektyvai visiems "po dienos darbų" dovanojo dainas. Todėl "atėjo magiška žiema", pabiro šokančios snaigės ir žvaigždės, pasiklydusios galaktikoje. O scenon įžengęs Radžis, pasiūlė džiaugtis gyvenimu čia, dabar ir kuo greičiau, ir kartais žvilgtelėti į dangų, nors "danguje tiek daug žvaigždžių, kurios jau nieko nebešildo". Pamatęs publikos šėlsmą, pasiūlė padaryti Šiauliuose chaosą ("bardaką"). Bet išėjo Birutė Dambrauskaitė ir galingu balsu priminė, kad "ateina metas suskaičiuot visas klaidas, neišsipildžiusias viltis ir svajones". Ir ne tik per publiką, bet Radžio veidu nubėgo šiurpuliukai, galvojant kokių čia klaidų pridaryta šiais metais. Bet dainininkei buvo negana ir ji vertė apmąstyti visą gyvenimą: "Tad patikėki, patikėki, patikėki / /Kad bėga metai daug greičiau už svajones /O jeigu žvilgsnį veidrodis klaidina /Kalti ne mes, kalti ne mes..."
O prasidėjus fejerverkams angelo balsu paprašė:
"Man palinkėki gerų Kalėdų,/ Man palinkėki geros vilties./ Gerų Kalėdų ir Tau linkėsiu,/ Linkėsiu geros kloties!
Atrodo, kad nieko daugiau nebereikia. Bet Kalėdų Senis paklausė, ar dar ko nors publika norėtų?
"Dovanų!" - buvo atsakyta.
"Tai parašykit man laišką, kad žinočiau, kokias atnešti! Ar žinote, kur gyvenu?"
Atsakymas į šį Kalėdų Senio klausimą bus tytoj, o šiandien dar liko Advento arbata ir žvaigždės,
kurių tiek daug danguj, bet šiandien ir vėl nesimato nė vienos...

You can do it today because the Christmas Programme of Šiauliai offers three events and two of them are connected with music. In the Bookstore "Žiburys" takes place the concert 'Joy of Christmas' of Gabija L. Petrauskaitė that sings about life, love, happiness and 'paper friends'. In the concert you could feel more Advent atmosphere, while the Christmas feeling you needed to seach outside: By the traditional Christmas tree in the city center or in the small Christmas market of the city district Šimšė, that is decorateded with modern Christmas trees, created by young people.
Now, the biggest Christmas business is in supermarkets. Very strange that you don't see Santa Claus here. Maybe it's because now, Father Christmas is wrapping the Christmas gifts in his residence, situated on the Arctic Circle in Lapland. And where does he buy the Christmas gifts? We speak about it tomorrow.
During Advent tea, the moon looked through the window as if he wishes to say that the stars appeared in the sky again. It's true and so it was discovered already the 6th star (we need 12)!

Draußen gibt es keine Winterspuren, aber daran erinnert der Adventskalender,
dessen 9. Fensterchen eröffnet wird. Kommt Zeit, kommt Rat, auch von S. Lec (1909-1966):
ES WÄRE RATSAM ERNÜCHTERUNGSANSTALT FÜR BETRUNKENE VOM GLÜCK ZU GRÜNDEN.
Vom Buch "Weihnachtsfreuden" kann man auch einen Rat einholen:

Im Weihnachtsprogramm von Šiauliai gibt es heute drei Veranstaltungen, von denen zwei mit Musik verbunden sind. In der Buchhandlung "Žiburys" fand das Weihnachtskonzert von Gabija L. Petrauskaitė "Joy of Christmas" statt. Die junge Musikerin hat sich in ihren Liedern mit ihrer Lebensauffassung, Glück zu zweit und "Papierfrenden" auseinandergesetzt. Im Konzert herrsche mehr Adventsstimmung, während die Weihnachtsmotive am traditionellen Christbaum auf dem Hauptplatz der Stadt zu suchen sind. Oder auf dem kleinen Weihnachtsmarkt mit modernen von Jugendlichen geschaffenen Christbäumen im Stadtbezirk Šimšė. Oder in Supermärkten, wo nun ein richtiger Weihnachtsbetrieb herrscht.
Der Weihnachtsmann ist hier nicht zu sehen, denn er verpackt vermutlich die Weihnachtsgeschenke in seiner Residenz in Lapland. Und wo kauft er eigentlich ein? (Die Antwort kommt morgen.)

Lauke - jokių žiemos požymių. Bet yra gruodis ir Advento kalendorius skaičiuoja jo dienas - jau atidarytas 9 langelis, o J. S. Lecas (1909-1966) pataria:
REIKĖTŲ ĮKURTI BLAIVYKLĄ GIRTIEMS IŠ LAIMĖS.
Tuo tarpu "Kalėdų džiaugsmai" antrina:

O Šiaulių kalėdinėje programoje šiandien trys renginiai ir du iš jų susiję su muzika. "Žiburio" knygyne - Gabijos Lukrecijos Petrauskaitės kalėdinis muzikos vakaras "Joy of Christmas". Nors ir atsidūrusi tarp knygų, kuriose sutalpinta pasaulio išmintis, jauna atlikėja nepabūgo pateikti savo supratimo apie pasaulį, laimę dviese ir "popierinius" draugus.
Gitaros garsų ir dainų nuotaika buvo labiau adventinė, tuo tarpu kalėdinių motyvų reikėjo dairytis už knygyno sienų - prie tradicinės Didžiosios miesto eglės centrinėje aikštėje, ar jaunimo sukurtame alternatyviame Šimšės kalėdiniame miestelyje.
Arba supermarketuose, kur pats kalėdinių dovanų pirkimo bumas, bet Kalėdų Senio nesimato. Turbūt jis savo rezidencijoje Laplandijoje už poliarinio rato dar pakuoja dovanas. Įdomu, o kur jis jas perka? (Atsakymas rytoj).
Jau geriant vakarinę Advento arbatą, pro langą žvilgtelėjo mėnulis, tarsi norėdamas pranešti, kad pagaliau danguje pasirodė žvaigždės... Taigi, jau šeštoji žvaigždė užfiksuota ir padaryta pusė darbo.

The nature plays: Tonight it froze again and maybe, it is going to snow?
This morning, it is made in a hurry with drinking of the coffee, sweetened with the 10ty Advent chocolate, as well with reading of J. S. Lec and the suggestions of 'Christmas Joys'. It is because of the trip to Vilniaus, the capital of Lithuania!

And what about Christmas gifts, sold in the Christmas market of Vilnius next to the main Christmas tree of the capital of Lithuania? The offer is wonderful but there are the highest prises in Lithuania. But at first pay and then you can faint!
And the Christmas tree is really beautiful! It's the most elegant Christmas tree I have seen before. It's seems like a Christmas secret enveloped in lighting festoons. The most impressive photos of it are made from above. There the Christmas tree seems to be dressed in a perfect knitted dress of a world famous designer!
For the perfect design of the Christian tree of Vilnius and the Christmas market around it, doesn't fit the fairytale Christmas house with gingerbread from Germany. It stands outside the Christmas market but it's the best place to meet the friends with them you studied German at the University of Vilnius.
On the way back to Šiauliai, it starts to snow. The lighting festoons, seen in Vilnius, would be right to cover the little Christmas market in the district Šimšė of Šiauliai. Especially it would be right for the Christmas tree here, that presents as the lady with a rock, made from fir pine branches and decorated with Christmas decorations. And where are the most famous Christmas markets of the world where Father Christmas is shopping too?
It's snowing and snowing and it's because you can't see the stars in the sky.
But you can drink an Advent tea!

Die Natur spielt: Es friert wieder, vielleicht wird es auch schneien?
Heute wird alles in Eile gemacht: Zuerst Kaffee, gesüßt mit der 10. Adventsschokolade, dann ein Gedanke von J. S. Lec und ein Rat von "Weihnachtsfreuden" und danach - die Fahrt nach Vilniaus.
BEZAHLE ZUERST, DANN KANN MAN OHNMÄCHTIG WERDEN (J. S. LEC, 1909-1966).
#341--Freu' dich über jedes Geschenk!--
Und welche Weihnachtsgeschenke werden auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt von Vilnius angeboten, der am größten Christbaum der Hauptstadt stattfindet? Das Angebot ist groß und die Preise sind auch hoch, aber zuerst muss man bezahlen, erst dann in Ohnmacht fallen. Der Christbaum von Vilnius ist aber wunderschön! So einen eleganten Christbaum habe ich noch nie gesehen. Ein richtiges Weihnachtsgeheimnis, gewölbt von glänzenden Girlianden. Am eindrucksvollsten sieht er in Fotos aus, die von oben gemacht werden. Der Christbaum scheint in einem vollkommenen Ajourkleid von einem weltberühmten Designer gehüllt zu sein. In diese vollkommene Konzeption des Christbaums von Vilnius hat das Märchenhaus mit Lebkuchen aus Deutschland nicht hineingepasst und musste etwas weiter eingerichtet werden. Aber eben dort verabredet man das Treffen mit einer Studienkollegin, mit der man Deutsch an der Uni Vilnius studiert hat. Da beim Kauf Deutsch gesprochen wurde, kam eine zusätzliche Bescherung - Bonbons, selbst gemacht - dazu!
Auf der Rückkehr nach Šiauliai begann es zu schneien. Es fiel ein, dass die Girliandengewölbe, die über dem Christbaum von Vilnius eingerichtet sind, wären gerade richtig auch für den kleinen Weihnachtsmarkt im Stadtbezirk Šimšė. Besonders für einen Christbaum da, der eine Dame mit einem Rock aus Tannenzweigen, geschmückt mit Kugeln, darstellt.
Und wo finden die berühmtesten Weihnachtsmärkte der Welt statt, in denen die Weihnachtsmänner einkaufen? Früher sollten sie Weihnachtsgeschenke selbst gebastelt haben, aber es ist lange her.
Da es schneit, gibt es auch keine Sterne. Aber es gibt einen Adventstee!

Na, gamta tiesiog žaidžia: jau vėl šaltukas, gal ir vėl snigs?
Šiandien reikia kuo greičiau atsidaryti Advento kalendoriaus langelį (jau dešimtą!), išgerti kavą, pasigauti kokią nors J. S. Leco mintį, žvilgtelėti į "Kalėdų džiaugsmus" ir leistis į kelionę link Vilniaus.
IŠ PRADŽIŲ UŽSIMOKĖK, PO TO ALPK! (J. S. LECAS, 1909-1966)

Kodėl nepasižiūrėti, kokias dovanas savo Kalėdų mugėse siūlo sostinė Vilnius prie centrinės eglės Katedros aikštėje? Kainos - aukščiausios Lietuvoje, bet pirma susimokėk, o tada alpk! O Kalėdų eglė pati elegantiškiausia, kokią kada nors teko matyti! Tikra Kalėdų paslaptis, apgaubta tviskančiu girliandu ažūru. Įspūdingiausiai ji atrodo nuotraukose iš aukštai: tarsi apsivilkusi tobula
J. Statkevičiaus sukurta ažūrine suknia - tenepyksta už tuos žodžius jos kūrėjai.
Kartą metuose prieš Kalėdas susitinkam Vilniuje su viena ar kita kursioke. Sutariam susitikti prie pasakų namelio, kur pardavinėjami vokiški meduoliai, nes studijavom vokiečių kalbą (Vilniaus universitete). Pasirodo, to namelio savininkai, pernai su dideliu pasisekimu viešėję Japonijoje, panoro jį atsigabenti ir į Lietuvą, į Vilnių. Bet netilpo į koncepciją prie tobulos Vilniaus Kalėdų eglės ir turėjo įsikurti atokiau nuo jos. Kadangi pirkdami užkalbinome vokiškai, tai prie pirkinių gavom dar ir saldainių, pačių padarytų ir maloniai nudžiugom.
Grižus į Šiaulius pradėjo snigti. Važuojant pro Šimšės kalėdinį miestelį, kilo mintis, kad girliandų ažūras, po kuriuo slėpiasi daugelis kalėdinių mugių, būtų reikalingas ir šiam miesteliui. Ir čia stovinčiai poniai, pasipuošusiai sijonu, padarytu iš eglės šakų, ant kurių sukabinti stiklo burbulai. Ir Kalėdų Seniui, kuris, akivaizdu, jau lankėsi čia, nes užmiršo kepurę, kurią tuoj užklos sniego patalai.
Ankščiau Kalėdų Seniai dovanas gamindavo savo dirbtuvėse, o dabar, sako, dažniausiai, apsiperka garsiausiose pasaulyje Kalėdų mugėse. O kur jos vyksta? (Atsakymas rytoj).
Šiandien sninga, tad dangus ir vėl be žvaigždžių. Bet Advento arbata čia kaip čia!
