In Lithuania, the Advent
was always a quiet time to pray, but not to celebrate. Today, it's a
quiet time too.
Would you like to change it?
Let's read 'The Little Book of
Christmas Joys: 432 things to do for yourself and others that just might
make this the best Christmas ever' by H. Jackson Brown, Jr., Rosemary
Brown & Kathy Peel (that is translated into Lithuanian). No one will
use all the suggestions, but there's plenty of good ones for anyone.
Let's study the sentences of the famous and not so famous people too!
This time, you can enjoy an Advert calendar and visit the Christmas
events
that you can find in every Lithuanian city and village.
There are
two suggestions from 'Christmas Joys' that you can do all Advent
season:
#37--Begin with a Christmas puzzle on the 1st December, and end
it on Christmas Eve.--
#306--Every day find at least 20 minutes only for
you! Switch off all telephone devices
and sit down comfortably with a
cup of tea.--
Since the 1st Sunday
of Advent, you can observe the sky 12 nights and search the
brightest star on it. When you watch the stars you can think about a
pleasant history or a pleasant event happened in your life. When you
'collect' 12 stars you will see a prophetic dream in the night... Till
today it was discovered already 7 stars!
So let's wait for Christmas
with the stars and the German Advent calendars filled with Austrian
chocolates and English tea!

DIE ADVENTSZEIT
Die Hälfte der Adventszeit
ist schon vorbei.
In Litauen war die Adventszeit immer eine ruhige Zeit,
in der nicht gefeiert wurde. Noch heute ist es üblich diese Zeit
traditionell ruhig zu verbringen. Wer etwas ändern möchte, beginnt mit
dem Büchlein "Weihnachtsfreuden" (The Little Book of Christmas Joys von
H. Jackson Brown, Jr., Rosemary Brown & Kathy Peel). Man findet hier 428 Ratschläge, was zu machen ist, um die fröhlichsten
Weihnachten zu haben. Beim Morgenkaffee kann man darin blätttern.
Für
den Advent passen auch Gedanken der berühmten oder nicht so berühmten
Menschen. Für diese Zeit sind Adventskalender sowie
Weihnachtsveranstaltungen gerade richtig.
Zwei Ratschläge von "Weihnachtsfreuden"
könnten die ganze Adventszeit begleiten und zwar:
#37--Fangt mit einem
Weihnachtsrätsel am 1. Dezember an und beendet es am Heiligabend.--
#306--Findet täglich wenigstens 20 Minuten Zeit für sich. Schaltet alle
Telefongeräte aus
und setzt euch bequem mit einer Tasse Tee.--
Für die
ganze Adventszeit passt auch der Weihnachtsbrauch, der mit der Natur
verbunden ist. Seit dem 1. Adventssonntag beobachtet man den Himmel 12
Nächte, indem man nach dem hellsten Stern sucht. Dabei kann man sich an
eine angenehme Geschichte oder an ein angenehmes Ereignis in seinem
Leben erinnern. Nachdem man 12 Sterne gesehen hat, träumt man in der
Nacht einen prophetischen Traum... Bis jetzt sind schon 7 Sterne
entdeckt!
Wollen wir die Sterne weiter studieren, solange es weihnachtet!
Wollen wir auf Weihnachten mit den Gedanken des polnischen Dichters und
Satirikers J. S. Lec, mit den amerikanischen weihnachtlichen Ratschlägen
sowie mit den Adventskalendern deutscher Herkunft, gefüllt mit
österreichischen Schokoladen sowie englischem Tee, warten!
Wollen wir
auch die Weihnachtsveranstaltungen besuchen, die in Šiauliai, in der
viertgrößten Stadt Litauens, reich angeboten werden.

ADVENTAS
Adventas,
prasidėjęs prieš dvi savaites, jau įpusėjo.
Nuo senų laikų Lietuvoje per
Adventą žmonės neorganizavo jokių linksmybių ir laukė, kada saulė
atsigręš į žemę. Tuo metu lietuviai mėgo stebėti gamtą ir iš to
spręsdavo, kokie bus kiti metai.
Ir dabar Lietuvoje daugelis yra linkę
Adventą praleisti tradiciškai rimtai. Norintiems
kažką keisti, pravartu pirma pasiskaityti amerikiečio H. Jackson'o Brown'o
(jaun.) knygutę "Kalėdų džiaugsmai", kur pateikiami 428 patarimai, kaip
padaryti Kalėdas linksmiausias sau ir kitiems. Kasdien ryte geriant kavą
galima ją pavartyti ir pasirinkti vieną ar kitą patarimą.
Adventui
tinka ir garsių bei ne tokių garsių žmonių mintys. Tinka ir Advento
kalendoriai, ir gamtos stebėjimas, ir kalėdiniai renginiai, kuriuos
rengia kiekvienas Lietuvos miestas ar miestelis.

autoatsakiklį.--
Visam Advento laikotarpiui tinka ir vienas kalėdinis
paprotys, susijęs su gamta. Prasidėjus Adventui 12 naktų stebėti dangų
išsirenkant po 1 šviesiausią žvaigždę. Pamačius 12 žvaigždžių bus
susapnuotas pranašingas sapnas. Žvelgiant į žvaigždę galima
prisiminti kokią nors malonią gyvenimo istoriją. Iki šiandien pavyko suskaičiuoti jau
7 žvaigždės!

3RD ADVENT SUNDEY: DECEMBER 11, 2016
The third week of Advent begins
with Gaudete Sunday, called Silver Sunday too (in Germany).
Outside you can see snow-cowered
trees and houses, and inside there are cup of coffee with the 11th
chocolate of the Advent calendar and the notes with the sentences of J.
S. Lec, put in the book "Christmas Joys".

Christmas traditions, start with it this year!--
If you don't have an
Advent wreath today (that is a Christmas tradition too) you can light
three Advent candles in a church.
After it, let's go to the Christmas
market that takes place in the biggest hall of the city - Šiaulių arena.
There's everything, but...
If you once visited a German Christmas market,
you miss its dose of Gemütlichkeit (winter cheer) in the Lithuanian
Christmas markets. Is it because this tradition is quite new in
Lithuania?
The most famous Christmas markets of the world take place in
Germany. Its oldest Christmas market, first mentioned as Nikolaus
Market, took place in 1310 in Munich. Now there are hundreds of
Christmas markets, each offering something unique.
Do you want
variations on the theme and a big city buzz (as in Berlin and Munich) or
something more low-key and archetypically quaint (Rothenburg)? Do you
want something in the more affluent west (Düsseldorf) or something more
representative of the east (Erfurt)? You need to choose only!
Germans love a good Christmas
celebration and it’s never too early to start preparing for this cosy
holiday. From aromatic mulled wine (each market has its own special
Glühwein mug!) and homemade gingerbread cookies to Christmas decorations
- it’s practically impossible not to enjoy the atmosphere of the German
Christmas market, while you start on your gift shopping!
And what about
the tadition of Christmas markets in English-speaking countries? (The
answer is tomorrow).
Now it's the Advent tea that you need to drink.
After that let's look to the sky. No stars today! Because it is
snowing still. It's a really wonderful Silver Advent Sunday!

Heute fängt der 3. Advent mit dem sogenannten Silbernen Sonntag an.
Draußen sieht man eine vollkommene
Weihnachtslandschaft, denn es schneit. Und drinnen auf dem
Kaffeetisch liegen - wie immer - die 11. Schokolade aus dem Adventskalender, der
Zettel mit einem Gedanken von J. S. Lec sowie die "Weihnachtsfreuden".
ACH, GOTT! MAN WÜRDE GERNE DEINE ADRESSE WISSEN! (J. S. LEC,

#416--Wenn eure Familie bis jetzt keine
Weihnachtstraditionen gepflegt hat,
fangt damit dieses Jahr an!--
Nur mit
einer vorweihnachtlichen Tradition geht es bis jetzt nicht - mit dem
Adventskranz, deshalb werden drei Adventskerzen auch diesmal in einer
Kirche angezündet. Dann geht man zum Weihnachtsmarkt, der in der
riesigen Arena Šiauliai stattfindet. Hier gibt es alles, aber...
Wer
deutsche Weihnachtsmärkte besucht hat, dem fehlt immer eine richtige
Weihnachtsstimmung auf den litauischen Weihnachtsmärkten. Vielleicht,
weil diese Tradition ziemlich neu in Litauen ist?
Die berühmtesten
Weihnachtsmärkte der Welt finden in Nürnberg und München statt. Der
älteste davon ist der von München, der als Nikolausmarkt erstmals
urkundlich 1310 erwähnt wurde. Im Laufe der Zeit breitete sich diese
Tradition im gesamten deutschen Sprachraum aus. Seit etwa der ersten
Hälfte des 20. Jhs wurden die Märkte zu einem festen Element des
vorweihnachtlichen Brauchtums in den deutschsprachigen Ländern.
Die
Weihnachtsmärkte gehen zurück auf spätmittelalterliche Wintermärkte, wo
meistens Fleisch verkauft wurde. Seit dem 14. Jh. sind Verkaufsstände
von Handwerkern wie Spielzeugmachern, Korbflechtern oder Zuckerbäckern
bekannt. Auch Stände mit gerösteten Kastanien, Nüssen und Mandeln gab es
damals bereits. Je nach lokaler Tradition wurde ein solcher Markt auch
Adventsmarkt oder Christkindlmarkt genannt. Nun werden auf einem Markt
meist besondere Waren angeboten, etwa Weihnachtsdekoration und
weihnachtliche Lebensmittel. Oft gibt es da Fahrgeschäfte, Musik und
Darbietungen von Krippenspielen.
Und gibt es die Tadition der
Weihnachtsmärkte in englischsprachigen Ländern?
Darüber erfahren wir
morgen und nun wartet Adventstee und vermutlich Sterne am Himmel?
Nein, keine Sterne! Denn es schneit immer noch. Es ist der richtige Silberne Adventssonntag!

Šiandien - taip
vadinamas sidabrinis Advento sekmadienis, nuo kurio prasideda trečioji
Advento savaitė. Už lango - tobulas kalėdinis peizažas, nes sninga, o
ant 11-ojo Advento kalendoriaus šokolado įspaustos rogės. Tad pirmyn -
su kava, J. S. Leco mintimis ir "Kalėdų džiaugsmais"!
ACH, KAD TAIP
ŽINOTUM PONO DIEVO NAMŲ ADRESĄ! (J. S. LECAS, 1909-1966)
#416--Jei jūsų
šeima nesilaiko Kalėdų tradicijų, šiais metais pradėkite tai daryti.--
Vienos tradicijos niekaip nepavyksta laikytis - tai Advento vainiko, tad
ir šį trečiąjį Advento sekmadienį trys Advento žvakės bus uždegtos
bažnyčioje. Po to - pirmyn į Kalėdų mugę Šiaulių Arenoje. Iš tiesų čia
yra visko, bet nėra to nuotaikingumo, kuriuo persmelktos Kalėdų mugės
Vokietijoje. Toms mugėms nekuriamos oficialios koncepcijos, į kurias
reikėtų kažkaip įtilpti. Jose svarbiausia yra prekiaujančio ir
dalyvaujančio - iniciatyva. Gal todėl vos žengi žingsnį, tave iš karto
pagauna vokiškų kalėdinių mugių, kurios yra garsiausios pasaulyje,
dvasia. Gal, kad ta tradicija labai sena?
Garsiausia yra Niurnbergo, o
seniausia ir ne mažiau garsi - Miuncheno kalėdinė mugė, pirmą kartą
paminėta 1310 m. kaip Mikalojaus turgus. 20 a. pradžioje tokios mugės,
vadintos Advento arba Kristaus kūdikėlio mugėmis, tapo neatskiriama
Advento tradicija vokiškuose kraštuose. Čia galima nusipirkti visko, ko
reikia Kalėdoms. Ypač sena tradicija - amatininkų gaminiai. Mugėse
kvepia karštu vynu, skrudintais kaštonais ar migdolais. Daug kur groja
muzika, supasi karuselės, galima pamatyti kalėdinius vaidinimus. Todėl
kiekvienas stengiasi čia stabtelėti.
O ar vyksta kalėdinės mugės
angliakalbėse šalyse? Apie tai - rytoj!
Po vakarinės Advento arbatos -
trumpas žvilgsnis ir į dangų: žvaigždžių šiandien nėra, nes vis dar
sninga!

In the Christmas programme of Šiauliai, there are two events today dedicated to the Libraries Year that was announced in Lithuania in 2016. In the first library are presented ten most popular books of Lithuania in 2016, while in the second one takes place 'The Carnival of the Christmas Books'.
One of the books of the 'Carnival' (about the dream of a child to be the best in the world) reminded of a visit to the United Kingdom a few years ago. The district of the private houses was decorated for Christmas already in the beginning of December. In the windows or on the doors of the houses you could read the invitations, dedicated to Santa Claus. Next to the invitation (to visit this house) were listed all good deeds, that a child made all the year round (with word of honor!). It was really the district of the best children in the world. All the neighbors and passerbies as well as Santa Claus could learn about it. No matter whether you invited Father Christmas or not, he use to visit you with anonymous gifts. Perhaps, because it is so nice? The Gifts - it's probably the most important Christmas tradition in the English-speaking countries. There is no tradition of Christmas markets, so the Christmas gifts are purchased usually in supermarkets.
But meanwhile you can discover the British version of the German Christmas market (called 'German Christmas Market', 'Christkindl Market' or 'Holiday Market') inter alia in Chicago (since 1996), New York (since 1995), Birmingham (since 1997), Bristol (1998), Manchester (since 1999) and Edinburgh (since 2000). The Christmas market in Edinburgh (Scotland) with sizzling sausages, Glühwein (mulled wine) and gingerbread as well as with Christmas music and German Gemütlichkeit (winter cheer) - it was the real surprise for me! The largest authentic German Christmas market (outside of Germany and Austria) takes place in Birmingham where is represented the Frankfurt Christmas Market because Frankfurt am Main and Birmingham are sister cities.
And how is it with the tradition of the Christmas markets in Scandinavia? (The answer is tomorrow). Now it's time to leave the library. Opposite it shines the small Christmas market of Šimšė with the full moon above it. In the sky glimmeref thousands of stars, so it wasn't difficult to discover the 7th of it! After that, it was Advent tea very well, because outside it was not only white, but also cold.

Im Weihnachtsprogramm von Šiauliai gibt es heute zwei Veranstaltungen, die mit Büchern verbunden sind. In einer Bibliothek werden die zehn populärsten Bücher vom Jahr 2016 vorgestellt, in der anderen findet "Ein Karneval der Weihnachtsbücher" zum Schluss des litauischen Bibliothekenjahres 2016 statt. Ein Buch des "Karnevals", das vom Traum eines Kind erzählt, zum besten in der Welt zu werden, erinnerte an einen Besuch in Großbritannien. Das Viertel der Privathäuser war schon Anfang Dezember weihnachtlich geschmückt. Überrascht haben die Einladungen für den Weihnachtsmann, die in Fenstern von Häusern oder an Schildern vor deren Türen zu sehen waren. Daran waren alle guten Taten erwähnt, die ein Kind (Ehrenwort!) pro Jahr gemacht hat. Hier lebten vermutlich die besten Kinder der Welt! Darüber konnten alle Nachbarn und Passanten sowie der Weihnachtsmann erfahren, der eingeladen wurde unbedingt vorbeizukommen. Wird der Weihnachtsmann eingeladen oder nicht, kommt er sowieso, bringt Geschenke, aber bleibt anonym. Vielleicht, weil es so angenehm ist?
Die Geschenke - das ist vermutlich die wichtigste Weihnachtstradion in den englischsprachigen Ländern. Es wird meistens in Supermärkten eingekauft. Es gibt auch Weihnachtsmärkte da, aber nur einer hat überrascht und zwar der Weihnachtsmarkt in Edinburgh (Schottland), wo es richtig weihnachtlich zuging. Im englischsprachigen Raum gab es traditionell keine Weihnachtsmärkte, wie man es in Deutschland versteht, aber das deutsche Konzept wird in neuerer Zeit mancherorts übernommen. Mittlerweile gibt es Weihnachtsmärkte (meist als "German Christmas Market", "Christkindlmarket" oder "Holiday Market") unter anderem in Chicago (seit 1996), New York (seit 1995), Birmingham (seit 1997), Bristol (1998), Manchester (seit 1999) und Edinburgh (seit 2000). Der größte authentische deutsche Weihnachtsmarkt außerhalb von Deutschland und Österreich ist der Frankfurt Christmas Market in der Frankfurter Partnerstadt Birmingham. Es wird in Großbritannien auch Wochenendausflüge zu deutschen Weihnachtsmärkten angeboten.
Und wie steht es mit den Weihnachtsmärkten in Skandinavien? (Die Antwort ist morgen).
Und nun ist die höchste Zeit die Bibliothek zu verlassen. Der kleine Weihnachtsmarkt Šimšė vor der Bibliothek wurde vom Vollmond beleuchtet. Am Himmel schimmerten tausende Sterne, von denen nur einer gebraucht wurde - und es war schon der 7. Stern!
Der Adventstee wurde auch gut gebraucht, denn draußen war es nicht nur weiß, sondern auch kalt.

Šiaulių kalėdinių renginių programoje šiandien du renginiai, susiję su knygomis: Vienoje bibliotekoje bus pristomas 2016 m. populiariausių Lietuvos knygų dešimtukas, o kitoje - "Kalėdų knygų karnavalas", kuris linksmai užbaigia 2016 metus, kurie Lietuvoje buvo paskelbti bibliotekų metais. Viena "Knygų karnavalo" pasaka apie vaiką, kuris pasižadėjo būti pats geriausias pasaulyje, priminė viešnagę D. Britanijoje prieš porą metų. Jau gruodžio pradžioje privačių namų kvartalas išsidabino Kalėdoms. Kai kurie namai virto vos ne spindinčiais rūmais. Bet nustebino ne tai, o languose ar stenduose šalia namo durų patalpinami kvietimai Kalėdų seniui būtinai užsukti. Šalia kvietimo surašyti visi geri darbai, kuriuos vaikas padarė per praėjusius metus, ir prisiekiama garbės žodžiu, kad tai tiesa. Tokiu būdu apie geriausius pasaulyje vaikus sužino kaimynai, praeviai ir Kalėdų Senis, kuris už tai atneša dovanų ir kuriam, akivaizdu, malonu išlikti anonimu. Bet gavę dovanas niekas sau dėl to nesuka galvos...
Dovanos, turbūt, yra svarbiausia Kalėdų tradicija angliškuose kraštuose ir jos dažniausiai perkamos supermarketuose, kartais kalėdinėse mugėse. Lankytos D. Britanijos, Airijos ar JAV kalėdinės mugės priminė lietuviškąsias, kur svarbiausia - apsipirkti. Bet nustebino Edinburgas (Škotija), kur Kalėdų mugėje šėlo tikra kalėdinė dvasia!
Iš tiesų, angliškuose kraštuose nėra tokios kalėdinių mugių tradicijos, kaip ji suprantama Vokietijoje. Bet, pasirodo, kai kur bandoma organizuoti analogiškas muges, kurios net vadinamos "Vokiškos kalėdinės mugės", pvz.: Čikagoje (nuo 1996), Niujorke (nuo 1995), Edinburge (nuo 2000), Mančesteryje (nuo 1999) etc. Beje, taip vadinama Frankfurto kalėdinė mugė, vykstanti Birmingham'e (nuo 1997), yra autentiškiausia vokiška Kalėdų mugė už vokiškai kalbančių šalių ribų. Birmingham'as draugauja su vokišku miestu Frankfurtu prie Maino, kuris ir dovanoja mugės koncepciją. Nemažai angliakalbių šalių gyventojų patys vyksta į vokiškas šalis, norėdami pajusti tą taip vadinamą kalėdinės mugės jaukumą.
O ar rengia Kalėdų muges mūsų kaimynai - skandinavai? Apie tai - rytoj.
O dabar jau laikas palikti biblioteką. Priešais jos langus mirga Šimšės kalėdinis miestelis, virš kurio kybo milžiniška mėnulio pilnatis. O jau žvaigždžių žvaigždžių danguj! Bet reikalinga tik viena - ir tai jau bus septintoji. Ir būtinai reikia Advento arbatos, nes lauke ne tik balta, bet ir šalta....

Don't make it,
although you miss the light on the shorts Advent days, especially

noch weiß, aber es muss heute wärmer werden.
Nun aber ist Kaffee schon warm, die 13. Adventsschokolade bereit und das Buch
"Weihnachtsfreuden" geöffnet. Zuerst aber kommt J. S. Lec an die Reihe:

#5--Wählt nie einen Weihnachtsbaum in der Dunkelheit!--
Obwohl das Licht in der Adventszeit wirklich fehlt, besonders vor dem
13. Dezember, dem Tag der Hl. Lucia, der noch ein Lichttag genannt wird.
Danach wird das Wetter der 12 folgenden Tage beobachtet: Der 1. Tag
entspricht Januar, der 2. Tag - Februar etc. Heute gab es etwas Schnee,
aber es war nicht kalt. Also, Januar sollte weiß, aber nicht kalt sein -
ein netter Monat!
Und in welchem skandinavischen Land ist der Lucia-Tag
besonders populär?

In Skandinavien sind auch Weihnachtsmärkte populär,
von denen die berühmtesten in Kopenhagen, Stockholm und Oslo
stattfinden. Es gibt da Bratwürste, und Glühwein, und Weihnachtsbetrieb,
aber das Gemütlichkeitsgefühlt der deutschen Weihnachtsmärkte fehlt
auch da.
Heute ist ein heller Abend, vielleicht weil es der Lichttag (Lucia-Tag) ist? Oder vielleicht weil es schneit?

es natürlich keine Sterne, aber es gibt einen Adventstee...

Liucijos dienos, dar vadinamos Šviesos diena.
Pagal senąjį Julijaus
kalendorių ši diena sutapdavo su žiemos saulėgrįža. Nuo gruodžio 13 d. dvylika
dienų paeiliui atidžiai stebimas oras: pirmoji šio tarpsnio diena
atitinka sausio orus, antroji - vasario ir t. t. Tad, jei spręsti pagal
šiandieną, tai sausis turėtų būti baltas, bet nešaltas, žodžiu, malonus
žiemos mėnuo.
Beje, kurioje Skandinavijos šalyje Šv. Liucijos diena ypač
populiari? (Apie tai - rytoj.)
Skandinavijoje taip pat populiarios ir Kalėdų mugės,
kurių garsiausios vyksta Kopenhagoje, Stokholme ir Osle. Yra čia ir
keptos dešrelės, ir karštas vynas, ir vyksta aktyvi prekyba, bet tą
vokišką jaukumo šarmą turbūt patirsi tik Vokietijoje.
Šiandien labai
šviesus vakaras, gal, kad Šv. Liucijos (Šviesos) diena? O gal, kad
sninga?
Kadangi sninga, tai nėra žvaigždžių, bet yra Advento arbata...

Lec is from a fairy-tale, while the 317th of suggestions of 'Christmas
Joys' is from reality:

In the Christmas programme
of Šiauliai there are no events today. But if you have a private
invitation to visit the exhibition 'Along the parth of mercy: Saints in
Art' in the Frenkelis Villa once again, do it! Especially, if you have possibility to enjoy the pictures with
the guide of the museum who usually draws your attention not only to the
artistic value of the pictures, but also to the life of the saints,
painted here. You become a real Advent surprise!
If you see the picture
'The homily of St. Vincentas Paulietis' (1782) you learn about his life and his programme for the soul (help
for people they are uneducated, uncertain and sad; forgive the people
for their insults and hurts; don't put up with evil things; pray for the
dead) as well as for the body (help for hungry, thirsty and poor
people; help for travellers, prisoners and invalids; care of
the dead). These 14 good deeds for soul and body of St. V. Paulietis (1581-1660) could be an Advent
programme, where you find the things you can change. Of course, not
everyone can be St Paulietis! His deeds as well as the deeds of the other Saints, presented in the pictures, reflects the spirit of Advent.
So, you don't need to see the Saints, associated with Advent season, in the exhibition. There you don't see St Lucia too, which day (December 13) is especially popularly in Sweden, where Saint Lucy is called Sankta Lucia. She is represented as a lady in a white dress and red sash with a crown
or wreath of candles on her head. In Sweden, girls dressed as
Lucy carry rolls and cookies in procession as songs are sung. It is said, that to vividly celebrate Saint Lucy's Day will help one live the long
winter days with enough light.
One symbol of Swedish Lucia Day you can
see in Lithuania too. What is it? (The answer is tomorrow).
The weather
that is today, the 2nd day after St. Lucia, it is of February. It was an icy
morning, a warm day and now it's falling snow. It's because you
don't see any stars again.
But don't forget - there is Advent tea!

Es wird schon das 14. Fensterchen des Adventskalenders
geöffnet. Also:
SESAM, ÖFFNE DICH, ICH MÖCHTE WEG! (J.S. LEC, 1909-1966)
Der Gedanke von J. S. Lec ist aus einem Märchen, während der 317. Rat
von "Weihnachtsfreuden" ist mit der Realität zu verbinden:
#317--Während dieser Weihnachten
versucht euch mit den Sachen abzufinden,
die nicht zu ändern sind.--
Im
Weihnachtsprogramm von Šiauliai gibt's heute keine Veranstaltungen, aber
es gibt ein privates Angebot, die Ausstellung "Auf dem Wege der
Barmherzigkeit: Heilige in der Kunst" in der Frenkelis-Villa nochmal zu
besuchen. Diesmal aber mit einer Führerin, die nicht nur auf den
künstlerischen Wert der Bilder, sondern auch auf die Persönlichkeiten
der dargestellten Heiligen aufmerksam gemacht hat, was zu einer
richtigen Adventsüberraschung wurde!
Am Bild "Hl. Vincentas Paulietis
predigt" (1782) wurde an sein Leben (1581-1660) sowie an sein
angebotenes Programm für die Seele (Hilfe für Uniwissende, Zweifelnde
und Traurige; Verzeihung für Beleidigende und Kränkende; Auftreten gegen
Böse; Beten für Gestorbene) sowie für den Körper (Hilfe für
Hungrige, Durstige, Arme, Wanderer, Gefangene und Kranke sowie Sorge um
Gestorbene) erinnert. Diese 14 Taten (je 7 für Seele und Körper) könnten
ein Adventsprogramm bilden, von dem jeder wählt, was er ändern kann.
Denn nicht jeder kann Hl. Paulietis sein!
In den Taten der dargestellten Heiligen spiegelt sich der Adventsgeist wieder. In der Ausstellung gibt es aber keine Bilder von den Heiligen, die direkt mit der Adventszeit verbunden sind. Hier ist auch die Hl. Lucia nicht zu sehen, deren Tag (der 13.
Dezember) so populär in Schweden ist. An diesem Tag besucht die weiß
gekleidete Lucia mit der Kerzenkrone auf dem Kopf Schulen und Kirchen,
Geschäfte und Büros. Ein Symbol, das mit dem schwedischen Lucia-Tag
verbunden ist, schmückt nun viele Fenster auch in Litauen. Was ist denn
das? (Die Antwort darauf ist morgen).
Wie der 2. Tag nach dem Lucia-Tag ist, so ist der Februar. Am Morgen war es eisglatt, dann wurde es warm und
nun am Abend fallen feuchte Schneeflocken. Deshalb sieht man keine
Sterne.
Aber nicht vergessen - es gibt einen Adventtee!

Pauliečio (1581-1660) gyvenimas ir jo siūlomi 7 geriausi darbai tiek
kūnui (išalkusį pavalgydinti, ištroškusį pagirdyti, vargšą aprengti,
keleivį priglausti, kalinį sušelpti, ligonį aplankyti, mirusį
palaidoti), tiek sielai (nemokantį pamokyti, abejojančiam patarti,
nuliūdusį paguosti, piktą darantį sudrausti, įžeidimus atleisti,
nuoskaudas nukęsti, melstis už gyvuosius ir mirusius). Tai tarsi būtų
programa Adventui, iš kurios kiekvienas galėtų atsirinkti tai, kas pagal
jo jėgas. Nes juk ne visi gali tapti Šv. Pauliečiu...
Paveiksluose pavaizduotų Šventųjų darbai puikiai atspindi Advento dvasią, nors parodoje ir nematyti tų Šventųjų, kurie konkrečiai susiję su Adventu. Nėra parodoje ir Šv. Liucijos paveikslo, kurios diena (gruodžio 13-oji) ypatingai švenčiama
Švedijoje.
Pagrindinis šios šventės akcentas - baltai
apsirengusios ir žvakių karūna pasidabinusios Liucijos ir jos palydovių
procesija. Kartais joje dalyvauja ir žvaigždėmis nešini
vaikinai, dėvintys smailias skrybėles. Procesija, giedodama Kalėdines
giesmes, lankosi įvairiose įstaigose ir tradiciškai vaišina kava ir
šafraninėmis bandelėmis. O vieną Šv. Liucijos dienos simbolį,
pastatytą languose, galima pamatyti ir Lietuvoje. Kokį? (Apie tai - rytoj.)
Kokia antroji
diena po Šv. Liucijos, toks bus vasaris. Rytas buvo apledėjęs,
šilta diena tirpino ledą,
o dabar (vėlų vakarą) jau krenta šlapios
snaigės, todėl nematyti žvaigždžių.

of the Advent calendar that reminds the 4th suggestions of 'Christmas
Joys':

Today, there are different Christmas events in
the city: a party for children, an opening of the exhibition, a concert
as well as the movies, created in Šiauliai this year. But if you have
only a few minutes time, you can visit the Library of the University of
Šiauliai and enjoy the Christmas tree, carried from a forest and
decorated yesterday.
Next to the Christmas tree was lit the candle
symbolizing the Peace Light of Bethlehem. From today until Christmas,
there takes place the Action of the Peace Light in Šiauliai. Do you know
what is it?
(The answer is tomorrow).
Opposite the Library you can see
lighting Swedish candelabra in the windows of the offices. The first
step of Swedish Christmas spirit is to light a load of candles. It could
be simple brass holders, red wooden holders and candelabra, and advent
candle holder sets. Many households use triangle-shaped sets of electric
candles for advent as well. Between Lucey's Day and Christmas Eve, you
can see there two chandeliers with 12 candles in all, represents 12
months of the year.
Today, it's already the third day after St. Lucy that
represents March. Today, it was a really March day: the snow continues
to melt, but it wasn't very warm.
And the sky was without stars, but
during Advent tea, it was nice to remember the white landscapes of the

Das 15. Fenster des Adventskalendars ist
schon geöffnet und es erinnert an den 4. Rat von "Weihnachtsfreuden":

Wollen
wir hoffen, dass danach nicht ein Ziel entsteht, Kalorien zu reduzieren. Und muss man sich dazu beeilen?

Heute gibt es unterschiedliche
Weihnachtsveranstaltungen in der Stadt: ein Treffen für Kinder,
eine
Eröffnung der Ausstellung, ein Konzert sowie Umschau der Filme, die in
Šiauliai dieses Jahr entstanden sind.
Aber die Zeit reicht nur für einen
Besuch der Bibliothek der Uni Šiauliai, wo gestern der Christbaum
geschmückt wurde, der aus einem richtigen Wald gebracht ist. Daneben
wurde heute eine Kerze angezündet, die Bethlehem's Feuer symbolisiert.
Von heute bis zum Heiligabend findet in Šiauliai die Aktion des
Friedenslichtes statt, indem es von Pfadfindern der Stadt in Kirchen und
Gemeinschaften verbreitet wird. Und woher kommt diese Idee? (Die
Antwort darauf ist morgen).
Wenn man die Universitätsbibliothek
verlässt, sieht man die sogenannten schwedischen Kerzenhalter in den
Fenstern der Büros leuchten. Vom Lucia-Tag bis zum Heiligabend
schmückt man in Schweden die Fenster mit zwei Kerzenleuchtern je sechs
Kerzen, was 12 Monate symbolisiert. Jeden Abend zündet man zusätzlich je
eine Kerze an.
Heute ist es schon der dritte Tag nach dem Liucia-Tag,
der dem März entspricht. Es war nicht kalt und der letzte Schnee sollte
verschwinden, aber es ist nicht passiert.
Die Sterne sind wieder nicht
erschienen und beim Adventstee am Abend fehlten die weißen Landschaften. So wäre es nicht schlecht, durch die weiße Insel spazierenzugehen -
wenigstens in Gedanken!

metinė šiaulietiškų filmų apžvalga. Bet laiko trūksta, tad užbėgu tik į
ŠU biblioteką, kurioje pastatyta eglė, atvežta iš miško ir uždegta
vakar.
Nuo šiandien šalia jos dega žvakė, simbolizuojanti Beatliejaus
ugnį. Iki Kalėdų mieste vyks Beatliejaus taikos ugnies akcija, kurios
metu skautai atneš ugnį į Šiaulių miesto ir rajono bažnyčias,
bendruomenes ir įstaigas.
Beje, ką reiškia ši ugnis? (Atsakymas rytoj).
Išėjus iš bibliotekos jau buvo tamsu, o priešais esančių įstaigų
languose degė taip vadinamos švediškos žvakidės, populiarios ir
Lietuvoje. Nuo šv. Liucijos dienos iki Kalėdų ant palangės švedai laiko
dvi žvakides, turinčias po šešis lizdus; kas vakarą uždega vis viena
žvakele daugiau. Lietuvoje ant palangių dažnai dega viena žvakidė,
turinti 12 lizdų. Vakare nuo šių žvakidžių ir gatvėje tampa šviesiau...
O
trečioji diena po Šv. Liucijos atitinka kovą. Ryte atrodė, kad tirpsta
paskutiniai sniego trupiniai, bet taip ir neištirpo, nes vakare
spustelėjo malonus šaltukas - toks paprastai ir būna kovas...
Žvaigždės
ir šiandien nepasirodė.
Geriant Advento arbatą pagalvojau, kad trūksta
sniego baltumo, tad būtų neblogai pasivaikščioti po Baltąją salą...

Bethlehem is a program inaugurated in Austria in 1986 as part of a
charitable relief mission for handicapped children and people in need.
Every year the Austrian Scouts light the Peace Light in Bethlehem and
carry it in a special lamp to Austria. After the ecumenical Light
Celebration in the Cathedral of Vienna, the light is transferred to the
otber countries and achieves Lithuania too. With Bethlehem is associated
the star of Bethlehem, but what does it symbolize?

An der Schokolade hinter dem 16.
Adventsfenster ist ein Engel oder vielleicht das Christkind dargestellt.
Und ein Rat von "Weihnachtsfreuden" (woraus heute kein Zettlel
rausgeflogen ist!?) klingt folgend:

bekommt ihr zu Weihnachten", sondern "Was schenkt ihr zu Weihnachten?"--
Im Weihnachtsprogramm von Šiauliai gibt es heute Sportveranstaltungen
nur für Kinder und Jugendliche sowie das kostenlose Konzert "Ich mag
Weihnachten" für Familien. Man konnte sehen, dass die Kinder sowohl
Lieder, als auch den Weihnachtsmann sowie den Christbaum genossen. Ach,
wäre es möglich noch einen Schneemann zu bauen! Leider ist der Schnee
fast weg.
Am Morgen gab es viele dunkle Wolken, durch die die Sonne
durchzubrechen versuchte, aber es ist nicht gelungen. Der Tag war so wie
der richtige April, der weiß nicht, was er will.
Der Adventstee am
Abend war wieder ohne Sterne am Himmel, aber mit glänzenden Girlianden
in den Fenstern.
Das Feuer spielt eigentlich eine wichtige Rolle für
Weihnachten seit den alten Zeiten, während die Tradition - das
Friedenslicht zu verbreiten - ist erst im Jahre 1986 im ORF -
Landesstudio Oberösterreich entstanden. Von Anfang an war die Aktion mit
dem Zweck geplant, sowohl die behinderten Kinder als auch alle, die die
Hilfe in der vorweihnachtliche Zeit brauchen, zu unterstützen. Jedes
Jahr holen die österreichischen Pfadfinder, die diese Sache übernommen
haben, das Friedenslicht aus der Geburtsgrotte in Bethlehem und
transportieren es in einer Spezielllampe nach Österreich. Nach der
ökumenischen Lichtfeier in der Kathedrale von Wien wird das Licht den anderen Ländern übergeben und so erreicht es auch Litauen. Das Licht des Weihnachtsfriedens wandert von Westen nach Osten und vereinigt
die Menschen in der vorweihnachtlichen Zeit.
Es gibt aber noch ein
Symbol, das mit Bethlehem verbunden ist. Das ist der Stern von
Bethlehem. Was symbolisiert er denn?

Šiandien Šiaulių Kalėdų
programoje vien jaunimui ir vaikams skirti sporto renginiai bei šeimų
kalėdinių dainų koncertas "Man labai patinka Kalėdos". Iš vaikų klegesio
koncerto metu matyti, kad jiems tikrai patinka Kalėdos:
ir dainos, ir
Kalėdų Senis, ir Kalėdų eglė. O kad taip būtų galima nulipdyti dar ir
Sniego senį!
Bet sniegas beveik nutirpo. Rytas buvo apsiniaukęs, o dieną
pro debesų properšas bandė prasiskverbti saulė, bet
nepavyko. Toks bus balandis, bet toks permainingas jis ir būna - kaip
vokiečiai sako, pats nežino ko nori.
Vakarinė Advento arbata ir vėl be
žvaigždžių, bet su uždegtomis kalėdinėmis girliandomis.
Ugnis - svarbus
Kalėdų simbolis nuo senų laikų, o Betliejaus taikos ugnis (BTU) -
simbolinė akcija, skirta žmonijos taikai ir brolybei. Ji buvo pradėta
radijo ir televizijos transliuotojo ORF iniciatyva 1986 m. Austrijoje,
Linco mieste. Kasmet ypač pasižymėjęs vaikas iš Austrijos keliauja į
Palestiną ir Betliejuje uždega žvakę, kuri lėktuvu, specialioje
kapsulėje, transportuojama į Vieną. Iš pradžių ugnis yra platinama po
visą šalį, o vėliau ir po Europą. Šią Betliejaus Taikos Ugnies nešimo
užduotį visose šalyse, o taip pat ir Lietuvoje, atlieka tų valstybių
skautai.
O juk dar yra ir Betliejaus žvaigždė. Kas gi tai? (Atsakymas

If you live in Šiauliai (the 4th largest city
of Lithuania) and don't have a time to visit Riga (capital of Latvia)
before Christmas, it seems that something is missing.
The most important
Christmas trees of Riga are naturally and reminde the trees of Germany.
If you visit Christmas markets of the Dom Square or Lives Squares you
think about Scandinavia. And the Christmas decorations around the city
reflect Baltic traditions. Only in Riga you find the Christmas dream
interwoven with the spirit of the medieval architecture.
There you need
to visit the Festival of Christmas trees that began seven years ago. The
idea for it is associated with the legend, that on the Market place of
Riga was decorated the first Christmas tree of Europa in 1510. The
Christmas trees of the Festival surprise with original ideas and the
diversity of the used materials, including light installations, wood,
bricks and heat.
Here you don't find the traditional Christmas
decorations made of glass. But, it's interesting in which country it was
made at first? (The answer is tomorrow).
This year, you can find the Christmas house next to the Old Town of Riga. There, the children or
parents in need can write their wish letter for Santa Claus. If you
would like to buy the wished gift you can do it. Then you can bring the
gift to the Christmas house or to send it to the child who needs it.
The
day in Riga was really festively, but you can't say it about the
weather. Although it wasn't cold but it was cloudy. So would be the month
May because it is the 5th Day after St. Lucia.
In the sky, there aren't
stars again, so you can drink the Advent tea thinking about the Star of
Bethlehem, also called the Christmas Star. It revealed the birth of
Jesus to the Biblical Magi, and later led them to Bethlehem, according
to Christian tradition.

Die Adventszeit
sollte eine Ruhezeit sein, aber heute wartet die Fahrt nach Riga
(Lettland, 130 km von Šiauliai entfernt), deshalb wird alles in
Eile gemacht:
Kaffee getrunken, die 17. Adventsschokolade gegessen sowie
in "Weihnachtsfreuden"
geblättert (Gott sei Dank, dass wieder kein
Zettel daraus geflogen ist):

Wenn es weihnachtet und die Einwohner der
litauischen Stadt Šiauliai die Hauptstadt Lettlands Riga nicht besuchen können, scheint es etwas zu fehlen. In Rīga verflechten sich
skandinavische, baltische und deutsche Weihnachtstraditionen. Die Natürlichkeit
der Christbäume der Stadt erinnert an Deutschland, die Weihnachtsmärkte auf dem Dom- und Livenplatz - an Skandinavien und
Dekorationen sind baltisch. Man versucht nicht nur üppig, sondern auch ästhetisch zu dekorieren. Man findet hier den Geist der
mittelalterlichen Architektur im Weihnachtstraum, der nicht zu
wiederholen ist.
Zwar muss man auch das Festival der Christbäume
erwähnen, das vor sieben Jahren begann. Die Idee dafür hat ihren
Ursprung in einer verblüffenden Legende, welche besagt, dass auf dem
Marktplatz von Rīga 1510 zum ersten Mal in Europa ein Weihnachtsbaum
aufgestellt und von Vertretern des Schwarzhäupterordens geschmückt
worden sei. Die Christbäume des Festivals überraschen mit originellen
Ideen und der Vielfältigkeit des bei der Umsetzung eingesetzten
Materials, angefangen mit Lichtinstallationen bis zur Nutzung von Holz,
Ziegelsteinen und Wärme.
An Christbäumen des Festivals findet man wenig traditionellen
Weihnachtsschmuck aus Glas, aber es ist interessant, wo zuerst solcher
Schmuck entstand? (Die Antwort kommt morgen).
Dieses Jahr wurde in der
Nähe der Altstadt ein Weihnachtshaus eingerichtet, wo die Kinder oder
ihre Eltern, die Hilfe brauchen, einen Wunschzettel für den
Weihnachtsmann schreiben können. Jeder, der den bestimmten Wunsch
erfüllen kann, kauft das Geschenk und lässt es hier oder bringt oder
schickt es dem, der es braucht.
Der Tag war weihnachtlich, das Wetter aber nicht. Zwar war es nicht kalt, aber trüb - bedeutet es, das der
Monat Mai auch so ist? Denn dieser 5. Tag nach Hl. Lucia entspricht eben
den Mai.
Am Himmel sieht man wieder keine Sterne, so kann man beim
Adventstee an den Stern von Betlehem (auch: Dreikönigsstern,
Weihnachtsstern oder Stern der Weisen) denken. Er bezeichnet
Himmelserscheinung, die nach dem Matthäusevangelium Sterndeuter oder
Weise zum Geburtsort Jesu Christi geführt hat (Mt 2,1.9 EU).

sustoti ir neskubėti, bet ne visada pavyksta.
Šiandien laukia kelionė į
Rygą, tad vėl greitas rytas su kava, pasaldinta 17-tu šokoladuku iš
Advento kalendoriaus, bei "Kalėdų džiaugsmais" (ačiū Dievui, kad ir vėl joks lapukas neišskrido iš knygutės).

Šiauliečiams tarsi
kažko trūksta, jei jie prieš Kalėdas nenuvyksta į Rygą, kur tarsi
susipina skandinaviškos, baltiškos ir vokiškos Kalėdų tradicijos. Rygoje
pagrindinės Kalėdų eglės paprastai būna natūralios - kaip Vokietijoje. Tiesa, jau septyneri metai Rygoje vyksta eglių festivalis, kuriame
galima pamatyti ir supermodernių eglučių, ant kurių beveik nepamatysi tradicinių stiklinių papuošalų. Beje, o kur buvo pagaminti pirmieji eglutės žaislai iš stiklo? (Apie tai - rytoj.)
Rygos Kalėdų mugės, kurių
svarbiausia vyksta Domo aikštėje, primena skandinaviškąsias. Kalėdinės
miesto dekoracijos - baltiškos, t. y., jaučiamas siekimas, kad būtų ne
tik daug, bet ir atrodytų estetiškai. Be to, visada atrasi tų
nepakartojamų kalėdinių motyvų, gimstančių ant viduramžių pastatų
senamiestyje, ko nepamatysi miestuose (pvz., JAV), kuriems istoriškai
nulemta neturėti senųjų architektūros paminklų. O kartu ir senovinės
dvasios, persmelktos kalėdine aura...
Šiemet netoli Rygos senamiesčio
pastatytas Kalėdų namelis, kuriame vaikai ar jų tėvai gali parašyti
laišką Kalėdų Seniui ir paprašyti kokios nors dovanos, kurios tėvai
negali įpirkti. Tada, bet koks žmogus, galintis išpildyti šį norą,
nuperka dovaną ir ją palieka namelyje, nusiunčia paštu ar pats nuveža...
Ši diena tiek Rygoje, tiek Šiauliuose, buvo be saulės, bet nešalta - tad
ištirpo paskutiniai sniego likučiai. Tokia turėtų būti ir gegužė...
Danguje ir vėl jokių žvaigždžių. Tad belieka prisiminti Betliejaus žvaigždę, kuri yra vienas iš kalėdinių simbolių. Ji rodė kelią trims karaliams pas kūdikėlį Jėzų. Kas iš tiesų buvo šis

The fourth Week of Advent begins with Sunday
called Laetere Sunday as well as Golden Sunday (in Germany).
Today you
can see already 4 lighting candles of an Advent wreath. It's an old
German tradition. For this Advent we have the new tradition to light 4
candles in a church. The new traditions enliven Advent time very much.
An interesting new tradition of Advent you can see in the German village
Eppstein (federal state of Hessen). In the 1st Week of Advent is lighed
one window of the old castle, presented a Christmas scenery. In the 2nd
Week you can see two lighting windows of it, in the 3rd Week - three
windows. In the 4th Week of Advent are lighed four windows, presented an
Christmas story which sense everybody understands differently. YOU NEED
TO RISE IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO FIND A DEEP SENSE (J.S. LEC, 1909-1966).
Of course, if you have time for it, after you have drunk a cup of coffee
with the 18th Advent chocolate and read "Christmas Joys" as well as the
Christmas card, received from a long-lost friend. It is a surprise,
because you send only electronic Christmas cards via email. But now you
have possibility to write a traditional Christmas card again! It's
interesting to know, when were printed the first traditional Christmas
cards? (The answer is tomorrow.)

with a long-lost friend or relative.--
#45--Write your Christmas wishes
by hand to make that more fervently.--
It's possibly to do it now in the
Shopping and Leisure Center 'Saulė'. There takes place the Christmas
Market, where you can buy Christmas gifts. There are the Bookshop and
the Post Office, where you can buy and send Christmas cards. Today, you
can see Christmas Father here too, who strolls around the huge Christmas
tree, decorated with the traditional glass dekorations.
Such glass
Christmas tree decorations were developed by the resourceful
glass-blowers of the German city Lauscha (Thüringen) in 1850-60 and they
did it at first in the world.
On the way home it was clear that you
don't see the stars in the sky again. It's raining but it's not cold and
it's already the sixth day after St. Lucy that represents June.
During
Advent tea you could see, that there are only 6 days till Christmas in
the Advent calendar.
DER 18.12.2016: DER VIERTE ADVENTSSONNTAG
Die
vierte Adventswoche fängt mit dem sogenannten Goldenen Adventssonntag
an. Auf dem Adventskranz werden schon vier Kerzen angezündet, was eine
alte deutsche Tradition ist. Und unsere Tradition - am Adventssonntag
Kerzen (heute - schon 4!) in einer Kirche anzuzünden - ist neu,
entstanden von uns für diesen Advent.
Neue Traditionen beleben immer die
Adventszeit. Eine interessante Adventstradition gibt es Eppstein, einer
kleinen deutschen Stadt in Hessen. Am 1. Adventssonntag wird hier das
1. Fenster der mittelalterlichen Burg angeleuchtet, in dem ein
Adventsmotiv dargestellt wird. Am 2. Adventssonntag wird dazu das 2.
Fenster und am 3. Adventssonntag - das dritte angeleuchtet. Und seit dem
4. Adventssonntag kann man alle vier Fenster genießen, die eine
Adventsgeschichte darstellen. Jeder versteht ihren Sinn anders. BIS ZUM
TIEFEREN SINN MUSS MAN SICH ERHEBEN (J.S. LEC, 1909-1966).
Natürlich,
wenn man Zeit dafür hat, nachdem man Kaffee getrunken und die 18.
Adventsschokolade gegessen hat. Heute morgen gab es nicht nur Kaffee und
"Weihnachtsfreuden", sondern auch eine Weihnachtskarte mit den
Weihnachtsgrüßen von einem alten Bekannten, der mir ganz aus den Augen
gekommen war. Es ist eine Überraschung in der Zeit, in der elektronische
Weihnachts- und Neujahrsgrüße die Tradition der Weihnachtskarten
beinahe ersetzt haben. Nun entsteht die Möglichkeit eine Karte zu
schreiben. Interessant, wann sind die ersten auf Papier gedruckten
Neujahrskarten entstanden? (Die Antwort kommt morgen.)

Kontakt mit einem Freund oder Verwandten in der Weihnachtszeit auf, von
den man lange nichts gehört hat.--
#45-- Schreibt Weihnachtsgrüße mit
der Hand: Die Handschrift wirkt inniger.--
Und das wird gleich im
Einkaufs- und Freuzeitzentrum "Saulė" gemacht, wo man alles für
Weihnachten findet: einen Weihnachtsmarkt, wo man Weihnachtsgeschenke
aus Leder, Bernstein oder Holz von den Volkskünstlern kaufen kann; eine
Buchhandlung mit reichem Angebot von Weihnachtskarten; die
Postabteilung, wo man Weihnachtskarten gleich abschicken kann. Der
Weihnachtsmann spaziert auch da - um den riesigen Weihnachtsbaum,
geschmückt mit dem traditionellen gläsernen Christbaumschmuck. Diesen
Schmuck haben findige Glasbläser aus Lauscha (Thüringen) als erste in
der Welt (1850-1860) entwickelt.
Auf dem Weg vom Weihnachtsmarkt nach
Hause wurde es klar, dass es auch heute keine Sterne gibt. Denn es
regnet, aber es ist nicht kalt - so sollte auch der Juni sein, denn
heute ist es der 6. Tag nach Hl. Lucia. Die Adventsentspannung von 20
Minuten am Abend erinnerte daran, dass nur noch 6 Tage bis Weihnachten
geblieben sind...
SEKMADIENIS, 2016-12-18
Ketvirtoji Advento savaitė
prasideda taip vadinamu Auksiniu Advento sekmadieniu ir jau visi keturi
angelai išskrido pro dangaus vartus. Pagal vokišką tradiciją ant Advento
vainiko uždegama jau ketvirtoji žvakė... O pagal mūsų šiam Adventui
susikurtą tradiciją bažnyčioje bus uždegtos jau keturios žvakės. Advento
tradicijos senos, o nauji sumanymai įneša įvairovės. Štai
senoviniame Eppstein'o miestelyje (Vokietija, Heseno žemė) yra tradicija
pirmąjį Advento sekmadienį uždegti pirmąjį viduramžių pilies langą su
kalėdiniu motyvu. Antrąjį Advento sekmadienį sužiba antrasis langas,
trečiąjį - trečiasis, o ketvirtąjį jau dega keturi langai, atspindintys
kalėdinę istoriją. Jos prasmę ir gilumą kiekvienas supranta savaip.

laiko išgėrus rytinę kavą, pasaldintą 18-uoju Advento kalendoriaus

tradiciniais kalėdiniais žaislais iš stiklo. Tokius žaislus pirmieji
pasaulyje (1850-1860) pradėjo gaminti išradingi stiklo pūtikai iš
vokiško miestelio Lauscha, esančio Tiuringijoje.
Sutemus grįžtant iš
mugės buvo aišku, kad ir šiandien danguje nebus žvaigždžių, nes lynoja,
nors ir nešalta. Toks turėtų būti birželis, nes šiandien yra šeštoji
diena po Šv. Liucijos. Vakarinis 20 minučių relaksas su Advento arbata
priminė, kad iki Kūčių liko 6 dienos...

And we did it today and
sent the electronic Christmas cards to the friends living in many
foreign countries as well as we read the Christmas wishes from all the
world too. The electronic Christmas card from Kaunas, the second largest
city in Lithuania, was decorated with its Christmas tree. If you see it
you can blink in fascination!
The Competition of the Most Beautiful
Christmas Tree takes place every year in Lithuania. In 2017, it was
voted that the best Lithuanian Christmas tree stand in Vilnius (1st
place) and Šiauliai (2nd Place) but not in Kaunas. It doesn't matter:
All Christmas trees are very interesting in Lithuania because here are
focussed on their creative expression in urban environments what usually
reflects the spirit of the city. And it doesn't need to be perfect
every year!
The traditions of the Christmas tree are different in
different countries. If you visit the USA you see that the main
Christmas trees here (in New York, Washington, etc.) are decorated with
Christmas decorations as much as possible. The Christmas tree, which
decorations cost most expensively, is the most beautiful American Christmas tree
too. In Germany, it is important to maintain the naturalness of the
Christmas trees as well as the old traditions of the Christmas decorations.
In Germany, you can see one of the old Christmas tree
decorations that is very popular in the
whole world. Let's speak about it tomorrow! And today you do not see the
stars in the sky again because it's raining. But it's not cold and it's
already the seventh day after St. Lucy that represents July. You see
that during Advent time it isn't easy to discover 12 stars you need!
Often you can enjoy only the stars of the Christmas cards reading it during Advent tea.
By the way, the first New Year cards was printed in the 15th century.

Es weihnachtet immer mehr, aber draußen wird es
immer grüner.
Es wird schon das 19. Fenster des Adventskalenders
geöffnet und dahinter ein schöner Christbaum gefunden, gedrückt auf
einer Schokolade! Aber:
ZWINKERT NICHT VOR ENTZÜCKUNG! (J.S. LEC,

Denn die entzückende Schokolade verschwindet gleich beim
Kaffeetrinken sowie beim Blättern von "Weihnachtsfreuden": #98--Lernt
"Fröhliche Weihnachten!" in mehreren Sprachen wünschen.--
Nun ist die
höchste Zeit elektronische Weihnachtsgrüße in mehreren Sprachen zu
schicken sowie die zu lesen, die von der ganzen Welt gekommen sind. Der
Weihnachtsgruß von der zweitgrößten Stadt Litauens Kaunas war

Entzückung zwinkern!
In Litauen wird jährlich der schönste Christbaum
gewählt, wobei dafür elektronisch gestimmt wird. Diesmal wurde der
Christbaum von Vilnius zum schönsten in Litauen. Der Christbaum von
Šiauliai hat unerwartet den 2. Platz belegt und somit den Weihnachtsbaum
von Kaunas überwunden, der sonst zum schönsten oder zweitschönsten
gewählt wird. Der Schwerpunkt der litauischen Weihnachtsbäume liegt
immer auf ihrem kreativen Ausdruck, abhängig von der städtischen
Umgebung. In dieser Kreativität spiegelt sich der Geist der Stadt wider
und der muss nicht unbedingt vollkommen sein!
Wenn man sich, z. B., an
die wichtigsten Christbäume in den USA (New York, Washington etc.)
erinnert, sind die mit möglichst viel Weihnachtsschmuck geschmückt. Der
wertvollste Christbaum ist der, dessen Schmuck am meisten gekostet hat.
In Deutschland ist es wichtig die Natürlichkeit des Christbaums
aufzubewahren sowie alte Schmucktraditionen zu pflegen.
Es gibt einen traditionellen Christbaumschmuck, der die absolute Dominanz nicht nur
in Deutschland, sondern auch in der ganzen Welt besitzt. Was könnte es sein?
Darüber - morgen und heute muss man nur noch feststellen, dass es keine
Sterne gibt.
Es ist warm und regnerisch, und absolut so wie gestern - so
sollte auch der Juli 2017 sein. Man muss also feststellen, dass es nicht so
leicht ist, 12 Sterne in der Adventszeit zu entdecken! Es bleibt nichts
anderes übrig, als die Sterne auf den Weihnachtskarten beim abendlichen
Adventstee (20 Min. nur für sich!) zu genießen.
Und sich daran zu
erinnern, dass die ersten auf Papier gedruckten Neujahrskarten im 15.
Jh. entstanden sind. Seit dieser Zeit hat man zur Weihnachtszeit eine
ganze Menge Glück im Briefkasten gefunden, gebracht von Engeln, Zwergen
und fallenden Sternen von Weihnachts- und Neujahrskarten.

kuris paprastai būna pirmas ar antras. Neįsivaizduoju, kuo vadovaujasi
žmonės rinkdami gražiausią Lietuvos eglę. Jei mūsų Kalėdų mugės yra
tokios tarsi bedvasės (skirtos tik apsipirkti), tai lietuviškos Kalėdų
eglės yra nepakartojamos, nes kiekvienoje jų yra ryškus kūrybinis
pradas, atspindintis miesto dvasią. Kartais daugiau pavykusiai, kartais
mažiau ir todėl žavingas. Kalėdos nėra skirtos tobulybėms, jos skirtos
visiems ir kuriamos visų.
Tuo tarpu, pvz., JAV svarbu kuo daugiau
papuošalų "sukrauti" ant eglės, ir vertingiausia ta, kurios papuošalams
išleista didžiausia pinigų suma. Vokietijoje stengiamasi neužgožti
Kalėdų eglės žalumos, o kartu ir jos natūralumo bei išlaikyti
tradicijas.
Beje, o koks tradiciškai populiariausias Kalėdų eglės
papuošalas - ne tik Vokietijoje, bet ir visame pasaulyje? (Apie tai -
rytoj). Išsiuntus sveikinimus ir išjungus kompiuterį, tenka konstatuoti,
kad ir šiandien danguje nėra žvaigždžių.
Diena buvo šilta ir lietinga -
savo oru identiška vakarykščiai, tad tokia turėtų būti liepa.
Pasirodo,
nėra taip lengva Advento metu surinkti pranašingas 12 žvaigždžių!
Vakarinės Advento arbatos metu (20 min. sau!) belieka žiūrėti į
žvaigždes atvirukuose. O kartu ir prisiminti, kad pirmieji ant
popieriaus atspausdinti naujametiniai atvirukai atsirado jau 15 a. Nuo
tada bent jau pašto dėžutėse būdavo galima rasti nemažai naujametinės
laimės, kurią atnešdavo Kalėdų atvirukų angelai, elniai ar krintančios
žvaigždės.

You don't know whether the
famous American singer, actor, and producer "Frank" Sinatra
(Francis
Albert Sinatra, 1915-1998) had such a book of Christmas songs. But his
life consisted of two really good parts!
Born in the Advent time
(December, 12) in the family of Italian immigrants, Sinatra began his
musical career in the swing era and became a world famous singer with
the hits "Strangers in the Night", "My Way" (1965) and "New York, New
York" (1980).
Sinatra forged a highly successful career as a film actor
too. After winning an Academy Award for 'From Here to Eternity', he
starred in "The Man with the Golden Arm" (1955), and received critical
acclaim for his performance in "The Manchurian Candidate" (1962). Sinatra
was the recipient of eleven Grammy Awards, including the Grammy Trustees
Award, Grammy Legend Award and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
F. Sinatra has two nicknames. Because of his wonderful voice he was
called 'The Voice'. His deep blue eyes earned him the popular nickname
'Ol' Blue Eyes'. The night after Sinatra's death, the lights on the
Empire State Building in New York City were turned blue.
Today, the
stained glasses of the Concert Hall 'Saulė' of Šiauliai lit in blue too,
because here took place the main Christmas event of the city. It was
'Frank Sinatra's Show' with the Big Band of Šiauliai (director R.
Ašmanis, Latvia), soloist D. Kalninš (Latvia) and the dancers of the
Club "Lindyhop.lt" (Lithuania). It was a truly swinging session, so you
could really dip in the atmosphere of the 'Strangers in the Night'. It
seemed as if the Christmas tree on the stage, decorated with Christmas
balls, the most popular Christmas decorations in the world, began to
swing too.
The Sinatra-evening followed after the warm and rainy day -
so will be the August 2017 too? The weather of the last three days was
identical and does it means that the whole summer will be rainy?
Today,
you don't see the stars in sky again, what means that it isn't possible
to collect 12 stars till Christmas and to see a prophetic dream about
the future. It's interesting to know will the stars appear in the sky till
Chrismas? Or will the 'Silight Night' sound by raining this year? This
song is famous in all the world but do you know about its author? You
will know about him tomorrow
and today it's Advent tea, but not with the
Chrismas music, it's with rock opera 'Jesus Christus Superstar'...

#248--Kauft ein Buch mit Weihnachtsliedern und
stellt es aufs Klavier.--
Man weiß nicht, ob der berühmte Sänger und
Schauspieler "Frank" Sinatra (Francis Albert Sinatra, 1915-1998) so ein
Liederbuch hatte. Aber sein Leben bestand aus zwei, ziemlich angenehmen
Teilen!
In der Adventszeit (am 12.12) in der italo-amerikanischen
Familie geboren, begann F. Sinatra seine musikalische Karriere in der
Swing-Ära. Seine musikalischen Markenzeichen sind die weltberühmten Hits
"Strangers in the Night" und "My Way" (1965) sowie "New York, New York"
(1980). F. Sinatra erhielt den Oscar für die Nebenrolle im Film
"Verdammt in aller Ewigkeit". Er wurde auch mit zahlreichen Grammys
ausgezeichnet.
F. Sinatra hatte auch zwei Spitznamen - "Ol’ Blue Eyes" (wegen seiner blauen Augen)
und "The Voice" (wegen seiner charakteristischen Stimme). Als er 1998
gestorben ist, wurde das Empire State Building in New York, in
Anspielung auf seinen Spitznamen, drei Tage in blaues Licht
getaucht.
Im Blau leuchteten auch die Buntglasfenster der Konzerthalle
"Saulė" von Šiauliai. Die leuchten immer, wenn hier ein Konzert
stattfindet. Drinnen an der Bühne leuchtet auch der Christbaum,
geschmückt mit dem populärstenn Christbaumschmuck in der Welt - mit den
Glaskugeln. In der Konzerthalle findet heute die große
Weihnachtsveranstaltung "Frank Sinatra's Show" statt, an der der Big
Band von Šiauliai (Leiter und Dirigent R. Ašmanis, Lettland), Solist D.
Kalninš (Lettland) sowie Tänzer vom Club "Lindyhop.lt" (Litauen)
teilnehmen. Das Publikum tauchte gerne in die Swing -Atmosphäre von
"Strangers in the Night"...
Der Sinatra-Abend folgte dem warmen
und regnerischen Tag - so sollte der August sein. Das Wetter der
letzten drei Tage war absolut identisch, bedeutet es, dass der ganze
Sommer warm und regnerisch ist?
Heute nacht gibt es wieder keine Sterne,
was bedeutet, dass man 12 Sterne bis Weihnachten nicht mehr entdeckt.
Also, es ist nicht mehr möglich, den prophetischen Traum zu
träumen. Es ist interessant, ob die Sterne bis Weihnachten nochmals am
Himmel erscheinen und ob "Die Heilige Nacht" dieses Jahr nur beim Regen
klingt? Dieses Weihnachtslied kennt die ganze Welt und nur wenige haben
etwas von seinem Autor gehört. Wer ist er? Darüber wird morgen
gesprochen und für heute gibt es noch Adventstee und Musik. Zwar keine
Weihnachtsmusik, sondern die Rockoper "Jesus Christus Superstar"...

#248--Nusipirkite Kalėdų giesmių knygelę ir per
šventes laikykite ją ant pianino.--
Nežinau, ar tokią knygelę buvo
įsigijęs Frankas Sinatra (1915-1998), garsusis "Frenkas", bet jis tikrai
turėjo du atskirus ir malonius - daininko ir aktoriaus - gyvenimus. Jis
turėjo ir dvi prigimties puses, nes gimė italų-amerikiečių šeimoje ir
beje, per Adventą - gruodžio 12 dieną. Savo karjerą pradėjo tuomet
vyravusioje svingo eroje. Jo muzikos vizitinėmis kortelėmis tapo
pasauliniai hitai "Strangers in the Night" ir "My Way" (1965) bei "New
York, New York" (1980). F. Sinatra apdovanotas Oskaru už antraplanį
vaidmenį filme "From Here to Eternity", 11 Grammy statulėlių etc.
Jis taip pat turėjo dvi
pravardes:"Balsingasis" (The Voice) - dėl savo ypatingo balso ir
"Mėlynos akys" (Ol’ Blue Eyes) - dėl savo išorės. Kai F. Sinatra mirė
(1998), tris dienas mėlyna spalva buvo apšviestas vienas iš garsiųjų
Niujorko pastatų - Empire State Building.
Mėlyna spalva spindėjo ir
Šiaulių koncertų salės "Saulė" vitražai, kurie visada suspindi, kai vyksta koncertas. O šiandien čia - didysis kalėdinis renginys "Franko
Sinatros šou". Kalėdų eglė ant scenos papuošta tradiciniais stiklo
burbulais, populiariausiais Kalėdų eglės papuošalais visame pasaulyje.
Eglės pašonėje susėdęs Šiaulių bigbendas (vadovas R.
Ašmanis /Latvija) bei solistas Daumants Kalninš (Latvija) ir klubo
"Lindyhop.lt" šokėjai įtraukė publiką į tą svinguojančio "nakties
keistuolių" ("Strangers in the Night") magijos lauką. Tiesa, šį
itališkai-amerikietišką svingavimą buvo bandoma pažaboti, tarsi
"įšaldyti" baltiškame lede. Muzikines pauzes užpildė vedėjas V.
Gerulaitis. Apie ką jis kalbėjo, jau minėta aukščiau.
Sinatriškas
vakaras užbaigė šiltą ir lietingą dieną - toks turėtų būti rugpjūtis.
Trys pastarosios dienos buvo identiškos, tarsi trynukai. Tokia turėtų
būti visa vasara: nešalta, bet lietinga? Rugpjūtis - garsus žvaigždėtu
dangumi, bet ne ši gruodžio naktis. Tai reiškia, kad 12 žvaigždžių iki
Kalėdų nebus surinkta, taigi ir pranašingojo sapno nebus...
Tik įdomu,
ar žvaigždės iki Kalėdų apskritai pasirodys? Ar "Tyli naktis" skambės
lauke į stogą barbenant lietui?
Bet kuriuo atveju, ši kalėdinė giesmė
vis tiek skambės ir visame pasaulyje. Beje, kas yra jos autorius?
Apie
jį - rytoj, o dabar laikas Advento arbatai ir galbūt muzikai? Kalėdinių
giesmių ir muzikos iš tiesų daug, bet tegul skamba roko opera "Jėzus
Kristus - superžvaigždė"...

sweets! But let's remember one of the suggestions of the 'Christmas
Joys' and don't calculate calories between December 15 and January 2!

What did like the ancient
inhabitants of Šiauliai you could discover during the guided tour 'The
retrospective city Šiauliai: Discuss and taste' in December. In cafes of
Šiauliai, there takes place the gourmet action 'Winter Taste', while you can enjoy 'Christmas sandwiches', 'Christmas cakes'
and Christmas coffee 'Winter fairy tale'.
By the way, if you will sift a
bit of cinnamon on to a coffee, it has Christmas taste every day.
In
Lithuania, you can eat very much and everything at Christmas. But
there's one exception on the Christmas Eve. You can't eat meat while
all the other (at least!) 12 dishes (fish dishes, potatoes, mushrooms,
honey, Lithuanian cookies "Kūčiukai" etc.), served at the festive table,
may be tried. The Christmas Eve dinner without meat - is this tradition
popular in the world? We talk about it tomorrow, and today we can speak
about the tradition of Kūčiukai that you don't find anywhere in the
world.
Kūčiukai is a traditional Lithuanian dish (Lithuanian Christmas
Eve special cookies) served on Kūčios, the traditional Christmas Eve
dinner in Lithuania. They are small slightly sweet pastries made from
leavened dough and poppy seeds. There are variations in sweetness, and
though usually served soaked in poppy seed milk, they are also eaten
without it...
Today, it was a real gourmet-day. It wasn't raining more but
it got colder. It is the 9th day after St Lucia that corresponds to
September. Outside there is the real September weather (without the
stars in the sky again!), while inside you can switch on your music player to listen to the song
'Silent Night', if you would like to get in the Christmas spirit.
'Silent
Night' is a very famous Christmas carol, composed by Franz Xaver
Gruber, schoolmaster and organist, to lyrics by the joung pastor Joseph
Mohr in the small town of Oberndorf next to Salzburg, Austria. The song was
first performed on Christmas Eve 1818 at St Nicholas parish church in
Oberndorf. The authors wanted to enjoy the people of the small town
only.
In December 1831, 'Silent Night' has been sung in Leipzig and
there began its road to triumph in Germany and then in the whole world.
In 2011, the song was declared an intangible cultural heritage by
UNESCO.

Und die Macht der Schwächen für Süßigkeiten ist erst
dann furchbar, wenn man diesen Schwächen jeden Tag unterliegt.
Nun aber
wollen wir an den Rat erinnern, dass man keine Kalorien vom 15. Dezember
bis zum 2. Januar rechnen soll! Also:

Was die alten Einwohner der Stadt Šiauliai mochten, konnte
man in der Führung "Retrospektives Šiauliai: Sprechen und Degustieren"
am 2. Dezember kennenlernen. Und vom 2.12. bis zum 28.2. findet die
Gourmetaktion "Wintergeschmack" in den Cafés von Šiauliai statt, wobei
man "Weihnachtsbutterbrote", "Weihnachtskuchen" sowie
Kaffee
"Wintermärchen" ausprobieren kann.
Übrigens, wenn man etwas Zimt in den
Kaffee streut, wird es immer weihnachtlich schmecken.
Zu Weihnachten
isst man in Litauen viel und alles. Am Heiligabend gibt es aber kein
Fleisch, während alle anderen (wenigstens!) 12 Speisen (Fischgerichte,
Kartoffeln, Pilze, Honig, litauisches Gebäck "Kūčiukai" u. ä.) auf dem
festlich gedeckten Tisch ausprobiert werden dürfen. Der Heiligabend ohne
Fleisch - ist diese Tradition populär in der Welt? Darüber - morgen,
und heute kann man sagen, dass Kūčiukai, hergestellt aus einem Hefeteig
und Mohn, nirgendwo mehr in der Welt bekannt sind.
Es ist ein
traditionelles litauisches Gebäck an Heiligabend. Sie sind etwa so groß
wie ein Fingerhut, knusprig und wenig süß im Geschmack. Gegessen werden
die runden Mohnkügelchen erst am 24. Dezember mit oder ohne Mohnmilch
als Vor- aber auch gerne als Nachspeise. Für die Mohnmilch muss man den
Mohn mit kochendem Wasser übergießen und sie so über Nacht stehen
lassen. Kūčiukai sind sehr lange haltbar und sehr beliebt als Snack auch
in den Wochen nach Weihnachten in Litauen...
Heute, am Gourmettag ist es
ziemlich kühler geworden, aber es regnet nicht mehr. Trotzdem gibt es
keine Sterne am Himmel.
Es ist der 9. Tag nach Hl. Lucia und der soll
dem September entsprechen. Draußen herrscht die richtige
Septemberwitterung, während drinnen die Weihnachtsstimmung entstehen kann, wenn das Weihnachtslied "Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht" erklingt.
Sein Autor
Franz Xaver Gruber, Schullehrer und Organist, lebte in Oberndorf bei
Laufen im Salzburger Land in Österreich. Zusammen mit dem Hilfspastor
Josef Mohr dichtete und komponierte er das Lied "Stille Nacht, heilige
Nacht." Am 24. Dezember 1818 wurde es in Oberndorf "uraufgeführt",
eigentlich nur, um den Dorfbewohnern eine kleine Freude zu machen.
Im
Dezember 1831 wurde das Lied in Leipzig gesungen und von dort aus trat
es seinen Siegeszug
durch Deutschland und dann durch die ganze Welt...

pyragas" ar kava "Žiemos pasaka".
Beje, į bet
kurią kavą įbėrus šaukštelį cinamono, ji visada bus kalėdinė.
Per
Kalėdas Lietuvoje valgoma daug ir visko, o ant lietuviško Kūčių stalo
turi būti bent 12 patiekalų (žuvis, bulvės, kūčiukai, medus ir
panašiai), bet - jokios mėsos! Ar visas pasaulis taip ir švenčia Kūčias -
be mėsos? Apie tai - rytoj, o šiandien galima pasakyti, kad likęs
pasaulis tikrai nežino kūčiukų. O be kūčiukų (su aguonų pienu ar be jo)
neįmanoma įsivaizduoti ir pačių Kūčių...
Gurmaniška diena baigiasi
Advento arbata ir apgailestavimu, kad danguje ir vėl nėra žvaigždžių,
nors nebelyja ir gerokai atvėso.
Ši devintoji diena po Šv. Liucijos
atitinka rugsėjį - rugsėjo nuotaikos ir gamtoje. Tad nors 20 min.
atokvėpį apgaubkime Kalėdoms ir tai ypač lengva padaryti su kalėdine
giesme "Tyli naktis, šventa naktis". Jos autorius - Franz'as Xaver' as
Gruber'is - buvo mokytojas ir vargoninkas Oberndorf'e (bei Laufen) netoli
Salcburgo. Šiame nedideliame Austrijos miestelyje daina ir suskambėjo
pirmą kartą - 1818 gruodžio 24 d. Franz'as Gruber'is sukūrė ją kartu su
pastoriu J. Mohr'u norėdami tiesiog nudžiuginti Oberndorf'o gyventojus
per Kūčias. 1831 gruodį giesmė buvo giedama Leipcige,
kur ir prasidėjo
jos pergalingas žygis po Vokietiją ir visą pasaulį...

can enjoy the Advent chocolate and coffee as well as you can read the 'Christmas
Joys' and the sentences of J.S. Lec.

And how about the Christmas mood in Panevėžys, the fifth largest
city of Lithuania, 70 km away?
There, you need to pay really many
compliments to inhabitants because of the original Christmas tree on the
Laisvė Square, in the center of Panevėžys. Next to it you can see the
memorial statue of J. Miltinis (1907-1994), the famous Lithuanian
theatre director, actor and founder of the Panevėžys Drama Theatre, who
sems to be cross with the Christmas market. But it can't spoil the happy
Christmas atmosphere here...

J.
Miltinis studied in Paris, in the School of Theatrical Art (conducted by
Charles Dullin) with the legendary French theater personalities
Jean-Luis Barrault (1910-1994) and Jean Vilar (1912- 1971). Then he
studied in London (1937-1938) too.
After his return to Lithuania, J.
Miltinis organized his own theatrical studio in Panevėžys and began to
implement his ideas that he brought from Paris. Why did he choose this
small city? Paryžius (Paris) and Panevėžys - perhaps it sounds similar
for him?
Many people went to Panevėžys to see the performances of J.
Miltinis. In summer, Panevėžys Drama Theater played usually on tour in
Palanga, in Lithuanian city at the Baltic Sea, where we met him many
years ago. We reserved two seats but we were to late for the 1st act of
the performance and watched it in the last row of the hall. But after
the break we took our seats in the 5th row that we counted out from the
stage. It was getting dark and suddenly we saw J. Miltinis (with his
assistant) standing in front of us and yelling that there are his seats!
We were speechless not only because of the 'roaring'.
It seemed as if
the real God stood in front of us!
'There are our tickets where you can
see the 5th row,' we were shue we were in the right.
'The 5th row is the
next one!' he roared again.
We changed the row and sat dawn straight
behind J. Miltinis (and his assistant) while he continued to yell:
'You
are too young to argue with me!'
We were already students but we ran to
the performance straight from the beach wearing our hair in plaits. In
the 2nd act we saw two performances - one on the stage and the second
one in front of us. After the performance we discovered that the 5th raw
wasn't market at all (maybe it was meant for VIP, for very important
persons). The mark '6th row' you could read on the real 6th row but we
didn't read it, we count it out! So, both sides were right! During our holiday in Palanga, we used to smile when we remembered this meeting. Today, we use to
smile too strolling around the Christmas market of Panevėžys
next to
the statue of Maestro J. Miltinis.
IT'S A VERY DIFFICULT TIME WHEN ALL SEEMS
TO BE IN THE RIGHT (J. S. LEC, 1909-1966).
The Miltinis' day wasn't
cold, it wasn't raining too - such a weather will be in October?
In the
night you can't see the stars in the sky again and you need to come to
terms with it because you couldn't change something. But if you have a
recorded Nativity play, called Christmas play too, sometimes you can
change the Christmas music with it during the Advent tea break. If you
don't know what is it, let's talk about it tomorrow!
Now it's a time to
bake Kūčiukai, Lithuanian Christmas Eve cookies. Of course, you can
buy it too. But what an indescribable odor occurs in the home, when the
Christmas Eve cookies are baking in the oven! Without Kūčiukai it is
just impossible to imagine the Lithunian Christmas Eve (Kūčios) itself…
Many can't imagine the Christmas Eve table without meat dishes too. But
the table is wonderful,
only once a year so be prepared in Lithuania (as
well as in Poland)...

Draußen hat man
Herbstwetter und drinnen gibt es "Weihnachtsfreuden",
Adventsschokoladen
und Gedanken von J. S. Lec.

drei Menschen einen Kompliment machen.
Dieses Geschenk lohnt sich
immer.--
#331--Erlaubt einem unwirschen Menschen nicht, eure fröhliche
Weihnachtsstimung zu verderben.--
Und wie steht es mit der
Weihnachtsstimmung in Panevėžys, in der fünftgrößten Stadt Litauens, 70
km entfernt?
Für den originellen Weihnachtsbaum muss man den Einwohnern
von Panevėžys wirklich viele Komplimente machen.
Aber J. Miltinis, einer
der ehemaligen Einwohner von Panevėžys, für den hier ein Denkmal im
Jahre 2007 errichtet wurde,
ist offensichtlich damit nicht einverstanden. Er
guckt richtig trüb auf den Weihnachtsbetrieb und scheint gleich
aufzubrüllen. Kaum zu glauben, dass damit die fröhliche
Weihnachtsstimung verdorben werden kann...
Der wichtigste Christbaum von
Panevėžys steht am Platz Laisvė in der Nähe des Dramatheaters, das auch
den Namen vom bekannten litauischen Regisseur Juozas Miltinis
(1907-1994) trägt. Warum ließ sich J. Miltinis, der in Paris mit den
legendären französischen Theaterpersönlichkeiten Jean-Louis Barrault
(1910-1994) und Jean Vilar (1912-1971) studiert hatte, in Panevėžys
nieder? Paryžius (Paris), Panevėžys - vielleicht klang es ähnlich für
ihn? In der Sowjetzeit (1944-1990) durfte J. Miltinis Paris nie mehr
besuchen. Und in Litauen sah man ihn überall.
Vor vielen Jahren sind wir
ihm in Palanga, wo sein Theater gastierte, persönlich begegnet. Wir
haben uns verspätet und sollten den ersten Akt am Ende des
Zuschauerraums beobachten. Nach der Pause aber nahmen wir unsere Plätze
in der 5. Reihe, die wir einfach von vorne ausgezählt haben. Es wurde
dunkel und plötzlich stand J. Miltinis (mit seinem Assistenten) vor uns
und brüllte auf, dass wir seine Plätze besetzt hatten. Wir wurden
sprachlos nicht nur wegen der unglaublichen Barschheit: Es schien, als
ob vor uns der richtige Gott gestanden hätte! Hat aber er recht, uns
anzubrüllen?
"Hier sind unsere Karten mit den Sitzen in der 5. Reihe..."
- wollten wir ihm unsere Wahrheit erklären.
"Die 5. Reihe ist die
nächste!" - brüllte er wieder auf.
Nachdem wir die Reihen gewechselt und
uns direkt hinter den Regisseur gesetzt hatten, donnerte er weiter:
"Sie sind zu jung, um zu streiten!!!"
Wir waren schon Studentinnen, aber
zum Theater sind wir direkt von der Küste hierhergelaufen, davor unser
langes Haar in Zöpfe geflochten. So hatten wir im 2. Akt zwei
Aufführungen - ein Drama auf der Bühne und ein Regisseurtheater vor uns.
Nach der Theateraufführung entdeckten wir, dass die 5. Reihe gar nicht
markiert ist (vermutlich für VIP-Personen bestimmt) und dass die
Markierung "5. Reihe" an der 6. Reihe stand. Die Wahrheit stand also auf
beiden Seiten.
Bei der Erinnerung an diese Szene mit dem Theatergott J.
Miltinis muss ich immer noch schmunzeln. Auch heute, nach so vielen Jahren,
beim Bummel auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt von Panevėžys.

Das Wetter am Miltinis' Tag glich dem gestrigen - es
war kühl, aber nicht regnerisch und so soll der Oktober sein.
Man muss sich auch damit abfinden, dass es keine Sterne am Himmel gibt und
dass es nichts zu ändern ist. Bei der Entspannung (20 Min.) mit
Adventstee wird aber diesmal keine Weihnachtsmusik, sondern die Aufnahme
eines Krippenspiels eingeschaltet.
Will man wissen, was ein
Krippenspiel ist? Die Antwort ist morgen und heute muss man noch das
litauische Gebäck "Kūčiukai" backen. Ohne "Kūčiukai" ist das litauische
Abendessen am Heiligabend ("Kūčios" auf Litauisch) nicht vorzustellen.
Das Gebäck kann man natürlich auch kaufen. Aber wenn sich der Geruch der
backenden Kūčiukai im Haus verbreitet, ist der richtige Weihnachtsgeist
schon da! Die übrige Welt kann sich aber kaum vorstellen, was es ist
sowie wie das Essen am Heiligabend ohne Fleischspeisen aussieht, wie es
der Fall in Litauen oder Polen ist.
Übrigens, es ist einmalig und einmal pro Jahr! Und
schmeckt richtig weihnachlich!

Kodėl nepasižiūrėti, kokia kalėdine nuotaika gyvena
Panevėžys? Miesto eglė ir miestiečiai tikrai verti daugiau nei trijų
komplimentų! O štai vienas panevežiečių - J. Miltinis, kuriam mieste
2007 m. pastatytas paminklas, labai susiraukęs stebi kalėdinę mugę,
šurmuliuojančią aplink Panevėžio Kalėdų eglę. Atrodo, kad jis tuoj
pratrūks, bet, vargu bau, sugadins kalėdinę nuotaiką... Pagrindinė
miesto eglė puikuojasi Laisvės aikštėje šalia dramos teatro,
kuris taip
pat pavadintas J. Miltinio (1907-1994) vardu. Kodėl ši teatro
legenda, baigusi teatro mokslus Paryžiuje kartu su tokiomis prancūzų
teatro garsenybėmis kaip Žanas Luji Baro (1910-1994) ir Žanas Viliaras
(1912-1971), grįžęs į Lietuvą išsirinko Panevėžį? Paryžius, Panevėžys -
gal jam skambėjo panašiai? Sovietmečiu (1944-1990) J. Miltinis - kaip ir
daugelis - nebegalėjo išvykti į Vakarus ir todėl niekad daugiau
nebeaplankė Paryžiaus.
Teko matyti daug J. Miltinio spektaklių ir net
susidurti su juo asmeniškai vieną vasarą poilsiaujant Palangoje, kur
gastroliavo Panevėžio dramos teatras. Nusipirkome bilietus, bet
pavėlavome, tad pirmąjį veiksmą praleidom kažkur salės gale. Po
pertraukos, mūsų manymu, susėdome į savo vietas prie krašto, penktoje
eilėje, kurią tiesiog atsiskaičiavome nuo priekio. Užgesus šviesoms
prieš mus išdygsta J. Miltinis (su savo asistentu V. Blėdžiu, 1920-1999)
ir "užmauroja", kad tai - jo vietos! Netekom žado ne tik dėl
storžieviškumo: atrodė, kad prieš tave stovi pusdievis! Nepaisant to -
kodėl mes turime užleisti vietas šiam režisieriui-pusdieviui, jei mūsų
pusėje tiesa?! Parodėme bilietus:
- Čia mūsų vietos, štai penkta...
-
Penkta eilė sekanti!- sugriaudėjo J. Miltinis.
Mums persėdus tiesiai už
J. Miltinio, jis "žaibavo" toliau:
- Tokios jaunos, o ginčijasi!!!
Nors
studijavom, bet buvom atbėgusios tiesiai iš pliažo ir plaukus
susipinusios į kasas, kad smėlis iš plaukų nebyrėtų...
Visą antrąją dalį
matėm du spektaklius: dramą ant scenos ir J. Miltinį prieš mus, kuris
nuolatos gainiojo savo asistentą V. Blėdį į užkulisius. Tik pasibaigus
spektakliui pasižiūrėjom, kad "5 eilė" užrašyta ant 6 eilės, o penktoji
eilė, matyt, skirta VIP, visai nepažymėta skaičiumi. Taigi, iš principo
teisios buvo abi pusės. Ši scena labai pralinksmino atostogas Palangoje,
ji sukelia šypseną visuomet, kai išplaukia atmintyje. Net dabar, po
daugybės metų, vaikštant po kalėdinę mugę Panevėžio Laisvės aikštėje.
SUNKIAUSIA TIESAI TAIS LAIKAIS, KAI BET KAS GALI ATRODYTI TIESA (J. S.
LECAS, 1909-1966).
Prisiminimų arba Miltinio diena buvo lygiai tokia pat
kaip vakar - vėsi, be lietaus ir be žvaigždžių ir toks turėtų būti
spalis.
Vakare reikia susitaikyti su tuo, kad danguje ir vėl nėra
žvaigždžių ir kad nieko nepakeisi. Belieka pasimėgauti
vakariniu 20
minučių relaksu su Advento arbata ir Kalėdinio vaidinimo įrašu.
Kalėdinis vaidinimas - kas tai galėtų būti?
Apie tai - rytoj, o šiandien
dar reikia iškepti kūčiukus, be kurių lietuviškas Kūčių stalas
neįsivaizduojamas. Be abejo, juos galima ir nusipirkti. Bet kai namus
apgaubia kepamų kūčiukų kvapas, atrodo, kad tada juose ir įsitvirtina
Kalėdų dvasia.
Tuo tarpu likęs pasaulis sunkiai įsivaizduoja, kas yra
"kūčiukai", o taip pat ir Kūčių vakarienė be mėsos patiekalų kaip yra
Lietuvoje ar Lenkijoje. Tai iš tiesų kažkas nenusakoma ir būna tik kartą
per metus...

Enjoy it within the
family and friends as well as within ...the muses, the inspirational
goddesses of the arts,
literature and science: Clio (history), Thalia
(comedy and pastoral poetry), Erato (love poetry), Euterpe (music),
Polyhymnia (vocals), Calliope (epic poetry), Terpsichore (dance), for
the Urania (astronomy) and Melpomene (tragedy). According to Homer,
these Greek muses were daughters of Zeus, the second generation king of
the gods, and the Menemosyne, the goddess of memory. The Muses can
inspire, but sometimes...
THE MUSES ARE WASHING THEIR FEET IN SOME
SOURCES OF INSPIRATION (J.S. LEC, 1909- 1966).
Before Christmas, Euterpe
and Polyhymnia, the patrons of music and song, are
especially busy because so many Christmas concerts take pkace
that you often don't see the other interesting events.
Purely by
chance, it was discovered also the Christmas market in the Gallery of
the University of Šiauliai. There are offered the original works of
professional Lithuanian artists, and it's very sad that the Christmas
gifts are already bought. In the Gallery you can visit also the
exhibition of Vitalija Petraitytė. Her paintings, full of the vortices
of lines and colors, will definitely capture your imagination! The
exhibition is exactly for you if your year 2016 was full of vortices
too. It's very sad that the plastic arts doesn't have any goodness or
patron that could look after it and take care of its advertising.
There's a question to Urania, muse of astronomy, too: Where are the
stars? You can't believe that two weeks ago there were so many stars in
the sky! And that the landscapes were covered with snowbanks in
Lithuania.
This day, that corresponds to November (because it's the 11th
day after St. Lucy), was cool but it wasn't raining or snowing. That
weather was yesterday and after yesterday too. Does it mean that all
autumn months of the autumn 2017 will be cool but green? But you can
forget the green landscapes outside and get in the Christmas spirit
inside if you switch on Christmas music during the Advent relaxing (20
minutes daily!). You can listen to the Nativity play too that usually
begins so:
'...and Mary bore her first child, and wrapped him in
swaddling clothes, and placed him in a crib...'
This passage of the
Gospel of Luke has inspired many people to create not only Nativity
plays but also Nativys scenes of it
as well as stories and songs about
it. In Lithuania, you could see seldom the Nativity plays (Christmas
plays) that are so popular in other countries. But the Nativity scenes
are displayed during the Christmas season in the churches of Lithuania too. Distinctive Nativity scenes have been created
around the world. An interesting tradition is one city of Austria.
Every year before Christmas, there use to build the tree, called the
Tree of Nativity scene ('Krippenbaum'). What could it be? (The answer is
morning).

geblättert.
#18--Vergesst alle drückenden Sorgen! Freut euch auf die
Feiertage!--
Freut euch im Kreis der Familie, der Freunde oder ... der
Musen und zwar: Klio (für die Geschichte), Thalia (für das Lustspiel),
Erato (für die Lyrik), Euterpe (für die Musik), Polyhymnia (für den
Gesang), Kalliope (für die Erzählkunst), Terpsichore (für den Tanz),
Urania (für die Sternkunde) sowie Melpomene für das Trauerspiel. Homer
erzählt, diese griechischen Schutzgöttinen der Künste seien Töchter des
Zeus und der Menemosyne, der Göttin des Gedächtnisses, gewesen.
Die
einen Musen inspirieren, während die anderen...
IN MANCHEN
SCHÖPFUNGSQUELLEN WASCHEN SICH DIE MUSEN IHRE FÜßE (J.S. LEC,
1909-1966).
In der Weihnachtszeit haben die Schutzpatroninnen der Musik
und des Gesangs (Euterpe und Polyhymnia) besonders viel zu tun. Es
werden so viele Weihnachtskonzerte angeboten, dass man andere
Veranstaltungen kaum oder zufällig merkt.
Rein zufällig wurde auch der
Weihnachtsmarkt in der Galerie der Uni Šiauliai entdeckt, wo man
originelle Werke der professionellen litauischen Künstler angeboten
werden. Schade, dass alle Weihnachtsgeschenke schon gekauft sind, aber
nächstes Mal wird zuerst diese Galerie besucht! Hie findet auch die
Ausstellung von Vitalija Petraitytė statt, deren Gemälde, voll von
Linien- und Farbenwirbeln, jeder Phantasie freien Lauf lässt und an das wirbelnde Jahr 2016 erinnert, das sich
nun zu Ende neigt... Die Werke der bildenden Kunst passen bestens für
Weihnachtszeit. Schade, dass diese Kunstart keine Schutzpatronin hat,
die sich um die Werbung dafür mehr kümmern könnte.
Es gibt auch Fragen an
Urania, Muse der Sternkunde: Warum gibt es auch heute keine Sterne am
Himmel?
Es ist interessant, dass dieser Tag, der den November
entsprechen sollte, glich dem gestrigen (Oktober) und dem vorgestrigen
(September): es war kühl, aber es hat nicht geregnet und nicht
geschneit.
Es ist nun kaum zu glauben, dass Litauen sogar einige
Adventswochen im dichten Schnee lag. Und dass es hier so viele
sternenhelle Nächte gab! Trotzdem weihnachtet es und die
Weihnachtsstimmung ist da, wenn man die Adventsentspannung
(20 Minuten
täglich!) mit dem Adventstee nicht vergisst. Dabei kann man die Weihnachtsmusik
einschalten oder auch die Aufnahme des Krippenspiels, das gewöhnlich so
beginnt: "Und Maria gebar ihren ersten Sohn und wickelte ihn in Windeln
und legte ihn in eine Krippe..."
Diese Stelle aus dem Lukasevangelium
hat die Menschen über viele Jahrhunderte angeregt, sie in Geschichten
und Liedern nachzuerzählen oder in Krippenspielen und -szenen
darzustellen. In Litauen sind die Krippenspiele nicht populär, die in
vielen Kirchen oder Schulen von anderen Ländern so gerne nachgespielt
werden, während die Weihnachtskrippen sind auch hier weit verbreitet.
Einen interessanten Brauch gibt es in Österreich, wo sogar ein
sogenannter Krippenbaum errichtet wird.

Adventas finišuoja. Šiandien
priešpaskutinį kartą atvertas Advento kalendoriaus langelis
ir pavartyti
"Kalėdų džiaugsmai":

Džiaukitės šeimoje, su draugais ar su
mūzomis, globojančiomis įvairius menus. O jų net devynios: Klėjo
(istorija), Talija (komedija), Erata (lyrika), Euterpė (muzika),
Polymnia (dainavimas), Kaliopė (epinė kūryba), Terpsichorė (šokis),
Uranija (astronomija), Melpomenė (drama). Šios graikų mūzos, anot
Homero, buvo Dzeuso ir Mnemės (atminties deivės) dukros.

KURIUOSE ĮKVĖPIMO ŠALTINIUOSE MŪZOS PLAUNASI KOJAS (J.S.LECAS,
1909-1966).
Prieš Kalėdas ypač daug darbo turi muzikos ir dainų globėjos
Euterpė ir Polymnia, nes šis laikotarpis taip skęsta muzikoje, kad kitus
renginius dažnai aptinki atsitiktinai. Taip nutiko su kalėdine muge
"Pirk dovanas iš savo kūrėjų", kuri vyksta ŠU Dailės galerijoje visą
gruodį. Čia galima įsigyti originalių kalėdinių dovanų iš pradedančių ir
jau žinomų Šiaulių ir Lietuvos menininkų. Jei kalėdinės dovanos jau
nupirktos, tai vis tiek malonu "paganyti akis" ir pabendrauti su
galerijos darbuotuoja, kuri tikrai nustebins atskleisdama netikėtas
kūrinių paslaptis. Be to, galerijoje vyksta Vitalijos Petraitytės paroda
"Įvijos II", kurios paveiksluose pavaizduoti linijų suktukai išlaisvina
fantaziją ir sužadina emocijas ČIA ir DABAR. Jei žvelgtum į paveikslus
pavasarį, jie turbūt primintų pavasarinių minčių ar jausmų srautus,
rudenį - galbūt audringos jūros sukūrius, tuo tarpu dabar, artėjant
Kalėdoms, jie atrodo tarsi į spiralę susisukę metai ar dienos. Gaila,
kad dailė neturi mūzos, kuri ją paglobotų ir labiau pareklamuotų, kad
dailės atstovams nereikėtų braidžioti po įkvėpimo šaltinius, kuriuose
kitų menų mūzos plaunasi kojas...
Norėtųsi užkalbinti ir astronomijos
globėją Uraniją: kur dingo žvaigždės, nes ir šiandien jų nėra? Ši diena,
atitinkanti lapkritį, tokia pat, kaip vakar. Tiesą sakant, visos trys
pastarosios dienos buvo vienodos - tarsi dar vieni identiški trynukai:
nelijo, bet buvo vėsu ir neiškrito nė kruopelytės sniego. Toks turėtų
būti ir visas 2017 m. ruduo? Žvalgantis aplinkui, sunku patikėti, kad
net kelias Advento savaites vartėmės po sniego pusnis. Ir danguje buvo
tiek žvaigždžių, kad sunku būdavo išsirinkti.
O šiandien belieka
pasimėgauti vakariniu 20 minučių relaksu su Advento arbata ir dainomis
apie žiemą. Ar galbūt dar kartą pasiklausyti kalėdinio vaidinimo
(prakartėlės) įrašo. Kalėdinis vaidinimas, kurį užsienyje galima
pamatyti ne tik bažnyčiose ir mokyklose, Lietuvoje nėra populiarus. Jis
paprastai prasideda taip: Ir gimė Marijai sūnus, ir suvystė jį į
vystyklus, ir paguldė jį į prakartėlę...
Pagal šią Luko evangelijoje
aprašytą sceną sukurta daug giesmių, pasakojimų ir vaidinimų.
Šią sceną
galima pamatyti meniškai įkūnytą molyje, medyje ar atviroje erdvėje bei
bažnyčiose per Kalėdas - taip pat ir Lietuvoje.
O Austrijoje statomas
net prakartėlių medis. Kas tai galėtų būti? (Apie tai - rytoj).

The Christmas Eve
is here! So, in the morning it is finished the Advent life with the
last chocolate of the Advent calendar as well as with leafing through
the 'Christmas Joys'" and reading the sentences of J. S. Lec:

But it's very sad that this year passes although it cost
very expensive too. Anyway:

everyone!--
#95--Spend the Christmas dinner with the family by the
lighting candles, visit the night mass.--

trees of the garden with flashing lights.--
#301--Enjoy the Christmas

If you prepared for the
Christmas Eve in advance you can light the Christmas festoons in the
windows or in the garden and go for a short stroll. When you see
lighting Christmas trees behind the windows you feel like you're in a
fairy tale with the happy end. You would like to wish 'Merry Christmas'
to everyone you meet in the street. As it is usual in the other
countries, but not Lithuania. I know about this tradition, but during
the visit in the US it did surprise me to hear 'Merry Christmas!',
wished from a runner in the forest next to Washington, or from a guard,
stood at the Ministry of Justice in New York.
In New York, it was the
green and extremely warm Christmas Eve in 2015, while in Lithuania this
year it's also green but cool and extremely windy. This day corresponds
to December - does it mean that the Christmas will be green next year
too?
'I have postponed the Christmas for unlimited time until it starts
to snow', it decided the famous Lithuanian film director Jonas Mekas
(born 1923) at Christmas of 1952 in New York.
Two weeks ago, Lithuania
was covered with snowbanks but today you can see nothing of it. Anyway,
the Christmas will not be postponed as well as the traditional Christmas
Eve dinner that usually begins in Lithuania when the first star lights
up the sky. The stars definitely don't appear this night but it will be
found a right resolution!
Actually, the most Advent was starless
therefore it was discovered only 7 of the 12 stars that - according to
the Christmas tradition - are necessary if you would like to dream a
prophetic dream about your future. So, this year you can't dream the
prophetic dream but 7 is a lucky number too! Seven stars compose the
constellation 'Great Bear' (called 'The Big Dipper' or 'The Wagon' too),
one of the best-known patterns in the sky, that in ancient times took
home the hunters, lost their way.
No doubt that many Lithuanians, no
matter where in the world they live, try to return home on Christmas Eve
- at least they think about it if they can't do it really. For every
Lithuanian the Christmas Eve is a very special and significant occasion
with the wonderful Christmas Eve table, white covered and only once a
year so be prepared next to the glittering Christmas tree.
The dinner
usually starts with the dividing of a host, sacramental bread
(or with
it of a slice of bread or a Christmas cake) saying 'Merry Christmas!' to
each other. Then you can start with the 12 dishes (no meat!)
symbolizing 12 months of the year.
After the dinner, if one gos to the
Christmas Eve Mass, usually it will be visit the Nativity scene (also
known as a manger), the special exhibition of art objects representing
the birth of Jesus. There you can see the infant Jesus, his mother Mary,
and her husband Joseph as well as shepherds, sheep and angels. A donkey
and an ox as well as the other animals can be depicted in the scene.
While the term 'nativity scene' may be used of any representation of the
common subject of the Nativity of Jesus in art, distinctive traditions
have been created around the world. The nativity scenes are displayed
during the Christmas season in churches, homes, shopping malls, and
other venues, and occasionally on public lands and in public buildings.
But if you visit Garmisch-Partenkirchen in South Germany you discover
the Nativity scene (natural outdoor crèche)
displaying all year round in
the centre of this small city.
Very artistic sculpted cribs as well as
many exhibitions of nativity scenes, that are handcut in wood, you can
see in Austria.
If you visit the Austrian city Steyr at Christmas you
enjoy here the original Tree (so-called 'Krippenbaum') that presents a
nativity scene.
With the 'Krippenbaum' it is finished our Christmas
puzzle of questions too, but not the Christmas Eve, of course!
If you
celebrate the Christmas Eve with your friends by the fireside
you can
see also the film 'It's a Wonderful Life' (F. Capra, 1946) that is so
popular at Christmas in the USA. At the same time it's possible to think
about the last Advent with the observation of the nature as well as
with its Christmas events. What do you think, if you remember the words
of 'Christmas poem' of Theodor Storm, that 'Advent is a time to stop a
moment and to eliminate hurry from your life'?
I would say it is easy to write but
difficult to make if you were running all year round. The morning ritual
with the Advent calendar and the 'Christmas Joys' it was more or less
O. K. But it was quite difficult to find at least 20 minutes for the
Advent relaxation in the night, what often happened after the midnight.
But according to the Lithuanian custom it's danger to make something
after midnight in Advent because of evil spirits...
But we can do all on
the Christmas Eve!
When the clock strikes midnight it begins the magic
of Christmas!

Take a handful of nuts, almonds or Lithuanian Kūčiukai
(Lithuanian special Christmas Eve cookies) and count it: if the number
is even you'll get married next year.

When the clock strikes midnight
think of a special thing you wish next year and take seven sips of
Aguonpienis (Poppy seed milk, Lithuanian special Christmas Eve drink) or
of wine: The wish will come true!
On Christmas Eve, especially
magic drink is Aguonpienis (poppy seed milk), called Ghost drink too...

Don't forget that in the midnight, all the animals begin to speak in
human language as well as that water turns into wine!

Der Heiligabend ist da!
Am Morgen genießt man die
letzte Adventsschokolade beim Blättern von "Weihnachtsfreuden"
sowie
beim Studieren der Gedanken von J. S. Lec:

Wenn
auch das vegehende Jahr so teuer kostet, tut es sowieso leid! Trotzdem:
#1--Wünscht als erste fröhliche Weihnachten für jeden!--
#95--Verbringt
den Heiligabend mit der Familie im Kerzenlicht, besucht die
Abendmesse.--
#202--Schmückt die größten Bäume im Garten mit blinkenden

Wenn man sich für den Heiligabend im voraus vorbereitet
hat, kann man die Girlianden im Fenster oder im Garten anleuchten und
eine Stunde spazierengehen. Wenn man leuchtende Christbäume hinter den
Fenstern sieht, fühlt man sich wie im Märchen mit dem glücklichen Ende,
das auch auf dich wartet. Deshalb will man jedem Unbekannten, dem man
unterwegs begegnet, fröhliche Weihnachten wünschen, was nicht üblich in
Litauen, aber richtig populär in anderen Ländern ist.
"Fröhliche
Weihnachten!", gewüncht von einem Läufer im Wald in der Nähe von
Washington schon Anfang Dezember sowie von einer Wache am
Justizministerium in New York zu Weihnachten, haben mich voriges Jahr in
den USA richtig überrascht.
Es war in New York am Heiligabend grün und
extrem warm, während es dieses Jahr in Litauen auch grün, aber kühl und
extrem windig ist. Es regnet aber nicht. So sollte auch Dezember 2017
sein, also - mit grünen Weihnachten?
"Ich habe Weihnachten unbefristet
verschoben, bis es schneit." Dazu hat sich der berühmte litauische
Regisseur Jonas Mekas (geb. 1923) an Weihnachten 1952 in New York
entschlossen.
Mehr als genug Schnee gab es Litauen vor zwei Wochen, aber
heute sieht man nichts davon. Trotzdem verschiebt man sowohl
Weihnachten als auch das Heiligabendmahl nicht, das gewöhnlich beginnt, wenn
der 1. Stern am Himmel aufleuchtet. Obwohl die Sterne heute bestimmt
nicht erscheinen, aber man findet ja eine Lösung!
Eigentlich war der
meiste Advent sternenlos, deshalb entdeckte man nur 7 von den 12
Sternen, die - laut einem Weihnachtsbrauch - notwendig sind, um einen
prophetischen Weihnachtstraum zu träumen. Aber 7 ist auch eine glückliche Zahl! Je
aus 7 Sternen bestehen die Sternbilder des Großen sowie des Kleinen
Wagens, noch Großer sowie Kleiner Bär genannt, die in alten Zeiten
verirrte Jägern nach Hause führten.
Und der
litauische Heiligabend ist zuerst das Fest der Rückkehr nach Hause oder
dorthin, wo man sich am besten fühlt.
Ein idealer litauischer
Heiligabend ist ein Abend zu Hause am weiß bedeckten Tisch in der Nähe
des funkelnden Christbaums. Man teilt zuerst eine Oblate (oder eine
Brotscheibe oder einen Weihnachtskuchen) auf, wünsch sich fröhliche
Weihnachten und probiert es. Dann fängt man mit den 12 Speisen an (kein
Fleisch!), die 12 Monate symbolisieren...
Wenn man nach dem Essen in die
Kirche geht, besucht man unbedingt eine Krippe. Da stehen ein Esel und
ein Ochse an einer Futterkrippe in einem Stall. In der Mitte liegt Jesus
als Kind, umgeben von Maria und Josef und oft auch von den Hirten und
den drei Weisen aus dem Morgenland.
Heutzutage sind die
unterschiedlichsten Krippen zu finden. Im Zentrum von
Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Bayern) steht die Krippe das ganze Jahr. Die
interessantesten Krippen sind wohl in Österreich zu bewundern, die nicht
nur in zahlreichen Ausstellungen, sondern auch in Privathäusern zu
sehen sind. Und auf dem mittelalterlichen Stadtplatz von Steyr
(Österreich) wird jedes Jahr ein sogenannter Krippenbaum errichtet, der
aus bemalten Brettern besteht, die früher in Kirchen aufgestellt wurden.
Mit dem Krippenbaum endet unser Weihnachtsrätsel, zusammengestellt aus vielen Fragen,
aber nicht der Heilige Abend!
Wenn man den Heiligabend im Freundeskreis
am Kamin verbringt, kann man sich auch den Film "Ist das Leben nicht
schön?" (Regie von F. Capra, 1946) ansehen, der so populär zu
Weihnachten in den USA ist. Dabei kann man sich an den vergangenen
Advent mit den Naturbeobachtungen und Weihnachtsveranstaltungen sowie an
das Weihnachtsgedicht von Theodor Storm erinnern, wo er bittet: "alt
und jung sollen nun von der Jagd des Lebens einmal ruhn..."
Leicht zu
schreiben, aber schwer zu machen, wenn man das ganze Jahr gerannt ist.
Das Morgenritual mit dem Adventskalender und den "Weihnachtsfreuden"
funktionierte mehr oder weniger reibungslos. Es war aber ziemlich
schwierig, wenigstens 20 Minuten für die Adventsentspannung am Abend zu
finden, was oft nach der Mitternacht passiert ist. Und laut dem
litauischen Brauch darf man sich nicht nach der Mitternacht im Advent beschäftigen, um von den bösen Geistern nicht verfolgt zu werden... Man
darf aber alles am Heiligabend!
Wenn die Uhr Mitternacht schlägt,
beginnen die Weihnachtszauber:
*
Nehmt eine Handvoll Nüsse, Mandeln oder
litauische Kūčiukai (litauisches Sondermohngebäck für den Heiligabend)
und zählt es: Wenn die Zahl gerade ist, heiratet man nächstes Jahr.
*
Wenn die Uhr Mitternacht schlägt, denkt sich einen Sonderwunsch aus und
schluckt dazu sieben Schlucke Aguonpienis (Mohnmilch, litauisches
Sondergetränk für Heiligabend) oder Wein: Der Wunsch geht bestimmt in
Erfüllung!
Besonders magisch wirkt am Heiligabend Mohnmilch, noch
Geistergetränk genannt...

Vergesst nicht, dass in der Mitternacht
alle Tiere in Menschensprache zu reden beginnen und dass Wasser zum Wein
wird!

O štai praeinančių
metų, nors jie ir brangiai kainuoja, gaila! Bet:

Įmeskite į židinį dar vieną pliauską...--
Jeigu Kūčioms pavyksta
pasiruošti iš anksto, uždegus Kalėdų girliandas lange ar sode galima
išeiti pasivaikščioti, nors gatvės ir bus tuščios. Kai matai žybsinčias
kalėdines eglutes už langų, pasijunti kaip toje pasakoje, kuri tau bus
su laiminga pabaiga.
Todėl keliems sutiktiems praeiviams norisi
palinkėti "Linksmų Kalėdų", kas neįprasta Lietuvoje, bet populiaru
kitose šalyse. Labiausiai netikėta buvo išgirsti tokį palinkėjimą iš
sportininko, laksčiusio miške netoli Vašingtono dar gruodžio pradžioje,
ir iš sargybinio, saugojusio Teisingumo rūmus pernykštį besniegį ir
šiltą Kalėdų rytą Niujorke.
Ir Lietuvoje šiemet sniego pūsnys ištirpo
gerokai prieš Kalėdas, tad Kūčios - žalios ir vėsios, bet nelija.
Pakilęs labai stiprus vėjas tarsi norėjo išvaikyti debesis, bet
nepavyko. Toks turėtų būti ir kitų metų gruodis su žaliomis Kalėdomis?
"Kalėdas atidėjau neribotai, kol pasnigs." Šitaip per 1951-ųjų Kalėdas
Niujorke (ir vėl mintyse Niujorkas?!) nusprendė garsus režisierius Jonas
Mekas (g. 1923).
Kalėdų neatidėsime, nors nėra sniego. Ir Kūčių
vakarienės neatšauksime, nors ji prasideda, kai danguje sužimba pirmoji
žvaigždė. Žvaigždės, akivaizdu, ir šiandien nepasirodys, kaip nepasirodė
pusė Advento. Todėl buvo suskaičiuotos tik 7 iš 12 žvaigždžių, kurių
reikia norint susapnuoti kalėdinį sapną, išpranašaujantį ateitį.
Beje, 7
irgi laimingas skaičius! Be to, iš 7 žvaigždžių susideda Didieji
Grįžulio ratai (o taip pat ir Mažieji), vieni ryškiausių tarp 2500
žvaigždžių. Daugelyje šalių šis žvaigždynas tebevadinamas Didžiąja
Meška, - prisiminimui to laikmečio, kada toli nuklydusį medžiotoją
parvesdavo namo būtent šios žvaigždės.
O Kūčios Lietuvoje - tai visų
pirma grįžimas namo arba ten, kur jaučiamasi kaip namie. Lietuviškai
idealu: Kalėdų eglė šalia baltai užtiesto stalo su mažiausiai 12
patiekalų, simbolizuojančių 12 mėnesių (šiukštu - jokios mėsos!). Kūčių
vakarienės pradžioje pasidalijamas kalėdaitis (arba atriekta duonos ar
pyrago riekė)
ir kiekvienas valgydamas savo dalį linki visiems linksmų
Kalėdų!
Jei po vakarienės einama į bažnyčią, būtinai sustojama prie
prakartėlės. Jos viduryje - ėdžios, kuriose guli ką tik gimęs kūdikėlis
Jėzus. Prie jo palinkę Marija ir Juozapas, piemenys ir galbūt trys
karaliai. Kokių tik prakartėlių nepamatysi dabar!
Štai
Garmisch-Partenkirchen'o (P. Vokietija) centre teko aptikti prakartėlę,
kuri stovi ištisus metus. Įdomiausiomis prakartėlėmis garsi Austrija,
kur jos statomos ir privačiuose namuose ir kur Advento metu
organizuojama daug prakartėlių parodų.
O Steyr'o senamiestyje kasmet
pastatoma prakartėlė, turinti medžio formą, todėl vadinama prakartėlės
medžiu.
Štai čia ir baigiasi mūsų kalėdinis klausimynas, kurį galima
pavadinti ir kalėdiniu kryžiažodžiu.
Bet Kūčios tikrai nesibaigia...
Jei
per Kūčias vakarojama su draugais prie židinio, visai tinka filmas su
daug sniego ir laiminga pabaiga. Tinka ir "Nuostabus gyvenimas"
(rež. F. Capra, 1946), kurį amerikiečiai taip mėgsta žiūrėti per
Kalėdas. Žiūrint filmą mintimis galima nuklysti į praėjusius metus ar į
taip greit prabėgusi Adventą su gamtos stebėjimais ir kalėdiniais
renginiais.
"Sustokite visi, sulėtinkite tempą, jau artinas Kalėdos!" -
primena angelas iš vieno T. Štormo eilėraščio. Lengva perskaityti, bet
labai nelengva stabtelėti, kai visus metus bėgta. Rytinis kalėdinis
ritualas su Advento kalendoriumi ir "Kalėdų džiaugsmais" vyko beveik
sklandžiai, o štai rasti laiko nors 20 minučių vakare, buvo tikras
iššūkis, kuris dažnai nusikeldavo po vidurnakčio.
Bet darbuotis per
Adventą vidurnaktį negalima, nes tuo laiku dirbančius neva ima
persekioti piktosios dvasios...
O štai per Kūčias viskas galima, nes tik
išumušus vidurnaktį ima veikti burtai:
*
Paimkite saują kūčiukų
(riešutų, migdolų) ir suskaičiuokite: jei skaičius porinis, ištekėsite.
*
Vidurnaktį mušant laikrodžiui sugalvokite kokį nors ypatingą norą ir
"pašventinkite" jį septynias gurkšniais aguonpienio arba vyno - tikrai
išsipildys! Ypač magiškai veikia aguonpienis, kuris yra tarsi dvasių
gėrimas, dvasių palikimas. Kartu su kviečiais, pupelėmis ir žirniais jis
įeina į kūčios, specialiai gaminamos dvasioms (protėvių vėlėms),
sudėtį.

Kūčių naktį gyvūnai ima kalbėti žmogaus kalba, o vanduo
šulinyje virsta vynu...
*
Šventa naktis! Neskubėkite skirstytis - įmeskite
dar vieną pliauską į židinį...
