THE FIRST GOOD EASTER MESSAGE
 was fair weather. It was difficult to believe that the Easter morning in Lithuania could be such a warm and sunny after a cool gray week! It was snowing exactly a week ago. It was strange to see how larks and swans search for something in the snow. But the march has finally opted for the spring and gave us a warm spring day as a present on Easter Sunday. Actually, it isn't a flowering spring but everywhere you can see pussy willows and poplars.

DIE ERSTE GUTE OSTERBOTSCHAFT
 ist schon beim Aufstehen eingegangen. Es war kaum zu glauben, dass der Ostermorgen in Litauen nach einer grauen kühlen Woche so warm und sonnig sein könnte! Der teilweise grüne März hat immer wieder weiße Scherze getrieben, zum letzten Mal - genau vor einer Woche! Es war komisch zu sehen, wie Lerchen oder Schwäne etwas im Schnee suchen. Aber der März hat sich endlich für den Frühling entschieden und einen richtig warmen Frühlingstag am Ostersonntag geschenkt. Zwar ist es keine Blütezeit, aber Weiden- und Pappelkätzchen sind schon überall zu sehen. 

PIRMOJI GEROJI VELYKŲ ŽINIA
 laukė vos pabudus. Buvo neįtikėtina, kad Lietuvoje Velykų rytas po pilkos vėsios savaitės išaušo šiltas ir giedras. Kintanti Velykų data kasmet pateikia įdomių staigmenų: šventė gali būti tiek balta nuo sniego, tiek mėlyna nuo žibuoklių. Šiemet Velykos ankstyvos, ką tik bolavusios sniego pusnys jau buvo ištirpę. Bet lygiai prieš savaitę vėl iškrito sniegas, po kurį teko kapstytis vieversiams ir braidyti gulbėms. Kovas, krėtęs baltas išdaigas, matyt, apsisprendė vesti pavasarin, ir viską pradėti nuo Velykų. Žydinčio pavasario dar nėra, bet topoliai jau pasipuošę "kačiukais". Per Velykas reikėtų ieškoti ("kačiukais") žydinčio lazdyno - sako, tai neša laimę...

 was the congratulation of the Pope Francis from Vatikan which after his speech "Urbi et orbi" on television wished Happy Easter as well as to enjoy the Easter Dinner!

DIE ZWEITE GUTE BOTSCHAFT

 waren die Glückwünsche vom Papst Franziskus, der während der Fernsehsendung aus Vatikan nach seiner Rede "Urbi et orbi" nicht nur frohe Ostern, sondern auch guten Appetit am Ostertisch wünschte! In Rom - wie in Litauen - war der Himmel strahlend blau, während nicht alle dieses Glück hatten. Die SMS-Ostergrüße aus Norddeutschland und England waren mit den Regentropfen... 

ANTROJI GEROJI VELYKŲ ŽINIA 

atėjo transliacijos iš Vatikano metu, kai popiežius Pranciškus po savo kalbos "Miestui ir pasauliui" palinkėjo visiems ir linksmų Velykų, ir skanių velykinių vaišių! Romoje - skaisčiai mėlynas dangus, bet tokia dovana galėjo džiaugtis ne visi. SMS žinute iš Šiaurės Vokietijos bičiuliai džiaugėsi, kad labai gražiai nusidažė kiaušiniai svogūnų lukštuose, bet apgailestavo, kad lauke lynoja. Velykinės žinutės iš Londono irgi buvo su lietaus lašais. O Lietuvoje dangumi tarsi geltonas margutis ridinėjosi saulė!

AND THE THIRD GOOD EASTER MESSAGE
 is the rich cultural programme of the Easter week in Šiauliai. The most important is the 34th academic music festival "RESURREXIT" (Latin for "resurrected") - the oldest in Northern Lithuania - with the most famous soloists, choirs and music groups from Lithuania and from abroad. Most of the festival concerts take place in the St. Peter and Paul's Cathedral, which is one of the main landmarks in the Prisikėlimas ("Resurrection") square. 

UND DIE DRITTE GUTE OSTERBOTSCHAFT
 ist das reiche Kulturangebot in der Osterwoche in Šiauliai. Am wichtigsten ist das 34. Festival der akademischen Musik "RESURREXIT" (Lat. "auferstanden") - das älteste in Nordlitauen - mit den europaweit bekannten Solisten, Chören und Musikgruppen aus Litauen und aus dem Ausland. Die meisten Festivalkonzerte finden im St. Peter-Paul-Dom statt, der auf dem Hauptplatz der Stadt steht, dessen Name Prisikėlimas - "Auferstehung" bedeutet. 

O TREČIOJI GEROJI VELYKŲ ŽINIA -
 tai gausi įvykiais Velykų savaitė Šiauliuose. Dar vienas tikras velykinis margutis! Svarbiausias renginys yra seniausias Šiaurės Lietuvoje - XXXIV akademinės muzikos festivalis "RESURREXIT" (lot. "prisikėlė") su garsiais europinio lygio atlikėjais ir kolektyvais. Dauguma festivalio koncertų vyks Šv. apaštalų Petro ir Pauliaus katedroje, kuri yra miesto centre - Prisikėlimo aikštėje.

MONDAY, 28TH OF MARCH: OPENING CONCERT

 The opening concert of the Festival "RESURREXIT" took place on Easter Monday that was such a warm as Easter Sanday. Its highlight was "Halleluiah", performed by all participants - soloist L. Česlauskaitė, Wind Orchestra "Panevėžio garsas" as well as by Chamber Choir "Polifonija" (Šiauliai). The vibrant soprano of the soloist with wind music and the powerful choral singing sounded mesmerizing. There was the right Easter joy in the Cathedral with wonderful acoustic!

MONTAG, DER 28. MÄRZ: ERÖFFNUNGSKONZERT

 Das Eröffnungskonzert des Festivals "RESURREXIT" fand am Ostermontag statt, der so schön war wie der Tag davor. Sein Höhepunkt war das "Halleluja", ausgeführt von allen TeilnehmerInnen: Solistin L. Česlauskaitė, Blasorchester "Panevėžio garsas" und Kammerchor "Polifonija" (Šiauliai). Im Dom, wo die Akustik außerordentlich ist, klang der vibrierende Sopran der Solistin, umgeben von Kupferklängen der Blasmusik sowie vom mächtigen Echo des Chorgesangs hypnotisierend. Das war die richtige Osterfreude!

PIRMADIENIS, KOVO 28 d.: ATIDARYMO KONCERTAS

 Festivalio "RESURREXIT" atidarymo koncertas įvyko antrąją Velykų dieną, tokią pat gražią kaip Velykų sekmadienis. Jo nuotaiką galėtų apibūdinti viena iš atliktų giesmių "Pakelk ir pakylėk". O koncerto kulminacija - baigiamasis akordas "Aleliuja!", kurį atliko visi dalyviai - pučiamųjų orkestras "Panevėžio garsas" (dirigentas Laimutis Raziūnas), Šiaulių valstybinis kamerinis choras "Polifonija" (meno vadovas ir dirigentas - Tomas Ambozaitis) ir solistė - Laima Česlauskaitė (sopranas). Puikios akustikos katedroje virpantis sopranas, apipintas variniais pučiamųjų garsais ir apgaubtas galingo choristų balsų aido kūrė hipnotizuojantį Velykų džiaugsmą.

TUESDAY, 29TH OF MARCH: "ENGLAND"

 This day - sunny in the morning and grey in the afternoon - began with the dilemma. Where is better to go tonight - to the Concert of the Festival "RESURREXIT" - "Letters from Argentina" with the world famous participants Čiurlionis Quartet and the accordionist K. Stonkus or to the modern performace "England" in the Arts Gallery Šiauliai. I chose "England" because it is a Theater Day what doesn't happen often in the Easter week. Tim Crouch (Great Britain) is a world-renowned theatre maker famous for his innovative work. The "England" of Tim Crouch (Great Britain), world-renowned theatre maker, was written to be performed in galleries where the surrounding adds to the content of the play. Such context assists to unravell the main questions: What happens to a heart placed in another person’s body or to a play staged in a gallery? What happens to one culture living in another culture? The interactive presentation of the exhibition at Gallery of Šiauliai - "The Lithuanian folk art heritage and its traditions in the last 50 years" - announces the start of the performance way before the actors appear. Then the interactive exhibition tour turns into a story about a man who carries a heart transplant. It was a big challenge to create the harmony between the Lithuanian national spirit and the modern vibrant English hearts. It was much too big a challenge for the young Creativ Team! It had been better to choice the "Letters from Argentina" or to visit of the old Theater of Šiauliai next to the Prisikėlimas-Square. Pisikėlimas it is "resurrection".

DIENSTAG, DER 29. MÄRZ: "ENGLAND"

 Der sonnige Tag, der am Nachmittag grau wurde, begann mit dem Dilemma. Wohin geht man heute abend: Zum Konzert des Festivals "RESURREXIT" - "Briefe aus Argentinien" mit Čiurlionis-Streichquartett und dem Akkordeonisten K. Stonkus, die weltberühmt sind, oder zur modernen Theatervorstellung "England" in der Kunstgalerie von Šiauliai? Selten ist so, dass der Theatertag und die Osterwoche zusammenfallen, deshalb wird das Theaterstück "England" von Tim Crouch (Großbritannien) gewählt. Das Prinzip des zum ersten Mal in Litauen aufgeführten Stückes "site-specific" bedeutet "typisch nur für diesen Ort". Die als Bühne gewählte Kunstgalerie soll das Haupthema des Stückes hervoheben: Die Existenz des Fremden - des Herzens, der Kultur oder des Theaters - dort, wo es gewöhnlicherweise nicht gibt. Das Theater fängt mit der interaktiven Vorstellung der Ausstellung "Das litauische Volkskunsterbe und seine Traditionen in den letzten 50 Jahren" in der Kunstgalerie Šiauliai an. Diese Vorstellung wird dann beim Auftreten der Schauspieler zur Aufführung über einen Menschen, der ein fremdes Herz als Geschenk bekommt. Es war eine zu große Herausforderung für eine junge Theatertruppe die Harmonie zwischen dem litauischen Volksgeist und dem modern pulsierende englischen Herzen zu schaffen. Man musste eigentlich dabei nicht nur die Fenster in die fremden Welten öffnen, sondern auch die  Fensterscheiben brechen, aber dazu hatte man nicht genung Energie... Die bessere Wahl wäre wohl der Besuch des alten Dramatheaters von Šiauliai gewesen, das sich übrigens auch auf dem Prisikėlimas-Platz befindet. Prisikėlimas bedeutet "Auferstehung". 

 ANTRADIENIS, KOVO 29 d.: "ANGLIJA"

 Diena išaušo su saule, kuri vėliau dingo iš horizonto, bet paliko dilemą su trim "A". Ką pasirinkti šį antradienį: Argentiną ar Angliją? 

"RESURREXIT" festivalio koncertas "Laiškai iš Argentinos" - tai Lotynų Amerikos ritmai, meistriškai atkuriami tituluotų Lietuvos atlikėjų - Čiurlionio kvarteto ir akordeonisto Kazio Stonkaus, kurių koncertinių gastrolių maršrutas driekiasi per visą margąjį svietą. Retai būna, kad teatro diena ir Velykos sutaptų! Todėl renkuosi Dailės galeriją, kurioje numatomas spektaklis "Anglija" pagal britų dramaturgo Tim'o Crouch'o to paties pavadinimo pjesę, pirmą kartą pristatomą Lietuvoje. Spektaklio sukūrimo principas - "site-specific" - reiškia "būdingas tik tai vietai". Pasirinkta erdvė turi išryškinti pagrindinę pjesės temą: vieno dalyko - širdies, kultūros bei teatro - gyvavimą ten, kur jiems paprastai nepriklauso būti. Spektaklio pradžioje pristatoma Šiaulių Dailės galerijos paroda "Tautodailės paveldas ir gyvoji tradicija", skirta Lietuvos tautodailininkų sąjungos 50-mečiui. Šis interaktyvus pristatymas pasirodžius aktoriams virsta spektakliu apie žmogų, kuriam gyvybę dovanojo kito žmogaus širdis. Palyginti jaunai kūrybinei grupei (Igoris Abramovičius, Redita Dominaitytė, Modestas Kapustinskas, Deivis Lukas, Mantas Meškerys, Laura Misiukevičiūtė, Miglė Petronytė, Urtė Ramšaitė, Milda Sokolovaitė, Severina Špakovska) reikėjo prisijaukinti ir Lietuvos tautinio paveldo dvasią, ir moderniu ritmu plakančią anglišką širdį, ir pasiekti harmonijos. Reikėjo ne tik atverti langus į kontrastingus pasaulius, bet išdaužti stiklus, bet tam neužteko drąsos. 

Gal geriau reikėjo eiti į Šiaulių dramos teatrą, kuris yra Prisikėlimo aikštėje?

WEDNESDAY, 30TH OF MARCH: ORGAN MUSIC 

The day is sunny, but really cool. In the evening, you can visit a concert of the festival "RESURREXIT" in the St. Peter and Paul Cathedral where are played organ music compositions of J. Bach and V. Bräutigam (Germany), J. Rutter (UK) and N. Hakim (organ player from Paris, born in Lebanon). It was a concert of complete harmony between the place (the cathedral), time (Easter Week), mastery of the organ players J. Kazakevičiūtė (stadied in Vilnius, Salzburg) and D. Savickaitė (stadied in Vilnius, Leipzig, Amsterdam) and of the program. 

It was a possibility to run up the stairs to the roof of the cathedral, where you could see the organ and the angels sitting on the pillars. The impression is twice as much if you hear organ music together with the angels. After the concert, you want to fly with angels too but you have to climb down. 

It was probably a coincidence that the concerts of "RESURREXIT" finished at 7:00 p. m. This time the setting sun usually shines directly on the main door of the cathedral. When it is open the sunshine is streamed into the building. But certainly not by chance, the architects have designed this sun attraction in the 17th cent.! The inhabitants and guests of the Sun City Šiauliai always are "consecrated" by the sun, when they leave St. Peter and Paul- Cathedral. (The name "Šiauliai" could be associated with the word "saulė" - "sun").

MITTWOCH, DER 30. MÄRZ: ORGELMUSIK

 Der Tag ist wieder sonnig, aber schon richtig kühl. Am Abend findet noch ein Konzert des Festivals "RESURREXIT" statt. Im St. Peter-Paul-Dom wird Orgelmusik von J. S. Bach sowie V. Bräutigam (Deutschland), J. Rutter (Großbritannien) und N. Hakim (Orgelspieler aus Paris, geboren in Libanon) gespielt. Diesmal herrschte absolute Harmonie zwischen dem Ort (der Dom), der Zeit (Osterwoche), Meisterschaft der Orgelspielerinnen J. Kazakevičiūtė (studiert in Vilnius, Salzburg) und D. Savickaitė (studiert in Vilnius, Leipzig, Amsterdam) und des Programms. 

Es bestand sogar eine Möglichkeit die Treppe hoch zum Dach des Doms zu steigen. Dorthin, wo die Orgel (hoch über dem Eingang) eingerichtet sind und wo die Engel auf den Säulen gegenüber sitzen. Der Eindruck ist doppelt so stark, wenn man Orgelmusik mit den Engeln zusammen hört. Man will mit ihnen auch nach dem Konzert fliegen, aber man muss runtersteigen. 

Es war vermutlich ein Zufall, dass die Konzerte von "RESURREXIT" gegen 19. 00 Uhr zu Ende waren, wenn die untergehende Sonne direkt die Haupttür des Doms oder dessen Innere bestrahlt, wenn die Tür offen ist. Aber bestimmt nicht zufällig haben die Baumeister des Doms diese Sonnenattraktion im 17. Jh. vorgesehen! So werden die Einwohner und Gäste der Sonnenstadt Šiauliai immer mit den Sonnenstrahlen "geweiht", wenn sie den Peter-und-Paul-Dom verlassen. (Eine der Erklärungen des Namens "Šiauliai" ist mit dem Wort "saulė" - "Sonne" verbunden.) 

TREČIADIENIS, KOVO 30 d.: VARGONAI

 Ir vėl saulėta, bet jau vėsi diena. "RESURREXIT" festivalis tęsiasi: šiandien Šv. apaštalų Petro ir Pauliaus katedroje - vargonų muzikos koncertas su specialiai Šv. Veykoms paruošta programa. Vargoninkių duetas - Jurgita Kazakevičiūtė (vargonų muzikos studijos Vilniuje, Zalcburge) ir Dovilė Savickaitė (studijavusi muziką Vilniuje, Leipcige, Amsterdame) - atliko vokiečių kompozitorių J. S. Bach'o ir V. Bräutigam'o, brito J. Rutter'o ir Paryžiaus vargonininko, kilusio iš Libano, N. Hakim'o kūrinius. Čia nieko nereikėjo prisijaukinti: katedros aplinka, vargonininkių meistriškumas, jų atliekami kūriniai ir Velykų dvasia susiliejo į harmoningą visumą. 

Buvo galimybė užlipti laiptais į katedros palubę, kur (aukštai virš įėjimo) yra vargonai, o prieš juos kitoje pusėje - kolonos su angelais. Kai šalia angelų klausaisi vargonų, įspūdis dvigubai stipresnis. Tad ir po koncerto norisi nuplasnoti su jais, bet reikia lipti žemyn. 

Turbūt atsitiktinai sutapo, kad "RESURREXIT" koncertai baigdavosi apie 19. 00 val., kai besileidžiančios saulės spinduliai tvieskia tiesiai į pagrindines katedros duris, kurioms atsivėrus, jie praskrodžia centrinę navą. Bet tikrai neatsitiktinai šią saulės atrakciją katedroje numatė jos statytojai 17 a. Tad saulės miesto gyventojai ir svečiai, eidami iš katedros, visada "pašventinami" saulės spinduliais.

ŠIAULIAI, "RESURREXIT" FESTIVAL(is): V. Cipriani (Italija / Italy)

 THUSDAY, THE 31 TH, OF MARCH: ITALIAN ECLECTIC
 It were a gray and cool day and warm as well as colorful Italian night with the concert "Eclectic inside" of the festival "RESURREXIT. In the Chamber Hall, Vincenzo Cipriani (piano) from Italy played his new compositions accompanied by the Šiauliai String Quintet (Lithuania). The compositions of V. Cipriani are mostly characterised by a style that aims to create a descriptive language based on the contamination between different musical genres and forms such as jazz, classical music, the modal genre, the minimal and pop. In his last pieces of music "Eclectic inside" created after his visit to Egypt yuo can finde European traditions and Arabian motives, classical music and jazz elements. Such a compositions can involve diverse and wide audience in all the world. 
  It was a good choice, but today I could go to the cinema too. It started the International Cinema Festival "Kino pavasaris" ("Cinema Spring"), the most important cinema event in Lithuania.

DONNERSTAG, DER 31. MÄRZ: ITALIENISCHE EKLEKTIK
 Den grauen und kühlen Tag hat der italienische Abend erwärmt und zwar das Konzert "Die innere Eklektik" des Festivals "RESURREXIT. Am Konzert nahmen Streichquintett Šiauliai und Solist aus Italien - Vincenzo Cipriani (Klavier) teil. Das Programm bestand aus den neuesten Kompositionen von V. Cipriani, die nach seiner letzten Reise nach Ägypten entstanden sind. Da verbinden sich europäische Traditionen mit arabischen Motiven, Klassik mit Jazz. Solche Kompositionen können in der ganzen Welt gut verstanden werden. 
Ich freue mich über diese Wahl, obwohl man heute auch ins Kino gehen konnte. Es begann das internationale Filmfestival "Kino pavasaris" ("Kinofrühling"), dessen Filme in allen litauischen Städten gezeigt werden. Das ist die wichtigste Kinoveranstaltung in Litauen.

KETVIRTADIENIS, KOVO 31 D.: ITALIŠKA EKLEKTIKA 
Pilką ir šaltą ketvirtadienį sušildė spalvingas itališkas vakaras - "RESURREXIT festivalio koncertas "Eklektika viduje". Atlikėjai - Šiaulių styginis kvintetas (J. Stakvilevičienė, I smuikas; J. Damaševičienė, II smuikas; L Albrikienė, altas; I. Butkutė, violončelė; A. Stankus, kontrabosas) ir solistas iš Italijos Vincenzo Cipriani (fortepijonas). Programos pagrindas - naujausia to paties pavadinimo V. Cipriani kompozicija, sukurta po jo paskutinės kelionės į Egiptą. Čia susilieja europietiška muzikos tradicija ir arabiški motyvai, klasika ir džiazas. Toks kūrinys bus suprastas bet kurioje pasaulio dalyje. 
Šį kartą - pataikiau, nes buvo pagunda eiti į kiną. Prasidėjo garsiausias kino renginys Lietuvoje - tarptautinis festivalis "Kino pavasaris" ir visuose miestuose vienu metu pradėti rodyti jo filmai.

ŠIAULIAI, "RESURREXIT" FESTIVAL(is): "Glassduo" (Lenkija / Poland)

FRIDAY, THE 1ST OF APRIL: "GLASSDUO" (POLAND)
 It was a day with sunshine, rain and snow. "April, April it often doesn't know what it wants" (German proverb). In the night, all nature phenomena you could feel in the Concert "Glassduo" of the Festival "RESURREXIT", too. 
In the Chamber Hall, Anna and Arkadiusz Szafraniec from Poland (graduated violin player and trumpeter) played the biggest professional glass harp in the world. Its 57 goblets are professionally tuned and ready for being played on without any water inside. GlassDuo's instrument with its range of 5 octaves sounded as crystal. Such instruments, known as "Angel Harp", were popular in the 18th cent., but later (19th) it was forgotten. Today, "GlassDuo" is the only glass music group in Poland, one of very few professional bands in the world. It has been performed all over the world. In Šiauliai, their programme was formed by several musical works of J. Bach, W. A. Mozart, E. Grieg, P. Tchaikovsky, F. Chopin, K. Szymanowsky, E. Satie, A. Piazzolla, G. Aster, Z. de Abreu, B. Dvarionas and A. Szafraniec. During the performance of the "Rain Prelude" (F. Chopin) the rain really began to crackle on the glass roof of the Chamber Hall. The rain ended, when one of the "Winter Sketches" of B. Dvarionas was sounded. Was it snowing at the time? 

FREITAG, DER 1. APRIL: "GLASSDUO" (POLEN)
 Heute war es teils sonnig, teils hat es geregnet oder geschneit. Es war der "April, der nicht weiß, was er will". Alle Naturerscheinungen konnte man auch am Abend im Konzert "Glassduo" des Festivals "RESURREXIT" fühlen.
 Im Kammersaal wurde mit der größten Glasharfe der Welt gespielt, die aus 57 leeren Gläsern besteht, die wunderbare Kristallklänge hervorbringen. Solche Instrumente, "Engelharfen" genannt und populär im 18. Jh., wurden im 19. Jh. vergessen. Auch heute gibt es nur wenige solche Instrumente als auch nur wenige solche SpielerInnen wie Anna und Arkadiusz Szafraniec aus Polen (übrigens, ausgebildete Geigespielerin und Trompetenbläser), die ihre Gastkonzerte in der ganzen Welt geben. In Šiauliai sind sie zum zweiten Mal und wieder mit einem reichen Programm: J. S. Bach, W. A. Mozart, E. Grieg, P. Tchaikovsky, F. Chopin, K. Szymanowsky, E. Satie, A. Piazzolla, G. Eister, Z. de Abreu, B. Dvarionas und A. Szafraniec. Beim Spielen des "Regenpreludes" von Chopin akkompagnierte auch der richtige Regen, der begann aufs Glasdach des Kammersaals zu prasseln und der erst dann aufhörte, als eines der "Winterskizzen" von B. Dvarionas erklang. Vermutlich hat es angefangen zu schneien?

 PENKTADIENIS, BALANDŽIO 1 D.: "GLASSDUO" (LENKIJA)
Šiandien buvo ir saulė, ir lietus, ir šlapdriba. Apie tokį orą vokiečiai sako: "Balandis pats nežino, ko nori!" Gamtos kaitą buvo galima patirti ir "RESURREXIT" festivalio koncerte, kur ansamblis "GlassDuo" iš Lenkijos grojo didžiausia pasaulyje stiklo arfa. Tai iš 57 taurių sukonstruotas muzikos instrumentas, skleidžiantis krištolinio skaidrumo garsus. Pagal specialų užsakymą buvo pagaminta apie 2000 taurių, iš kurių kaip tinkamos atrinktos 57 ir suderintos taip, kad būtų galima groti, neįpylus į jas vandens. Tokie instrumentai, vadinami "Angelų arfomis", buvo populiarūs 18 a., bet 19 a. užmiršti, 20 a. prisiminti. Visgi tokių kaip Anna ir Arkadiusz Szafraniecai (beje, buvę profesionalūs smuiko ir trimito atlikėjai) pasaulyje vos keli, tad ir tenka koncertuoti po visą pasaulį. Šiauliuose "GLASSDUO" jau buvo 2009 m. Ir šį kartą jų programa labai įvairi: J. S. Bach, W. A. Mozart, E. Grieg, P. Tchaikovsky, F. Chopin, K. Szymanowsky, E. Satie, A. Piazzolla, G. Eister, Z. de Abreu, B. Dvarionas, A. Szafraniec. Pradėjus groti Chopin'o "Lietaus preliudą" jam akomponavo į Šiaulių kamerinės salės stiklinį stogą ėmęs barbenti lietus, kuris baigėsi suskambus vienam iš B. Dvariono "Žiemos eskizų". Turbūt lauke pradėjo kristi šlapdriba?

SATURDAY, THE 2ND OF APRIL: "RUNWAY RUN 2016" & "JAUNA MUZIKA"
 It was a beautiful sunny day, what you couldn't believe after such bad weather yesterday. It was an opportune moment to visit the former estate Zokniai. It reminds only a few buildings as well as the territory of the military airport founded by Germans during the World War I (in 1915). Šiauliai is good situated (geographically) and it is because the military airport could be serve in the first Republic of Lithuania (since 1931), then - by the Soviets (since 1945) and now in the second Republic of Lithuania (since 1991). Today, all were invited to the traditional Run "Runway Run 2016" in Zokniai dedicated to commemorate 12 years anniversary of the accession to the NATO alliance. Runway Run 2016 – unique and the only one in Lithuania run on a real runway, where Lithuanian Air Force aircrafts together with NATO partner aircrafts (now - from Spain) takes off and lands during every day missions. It was interesting to see to start runners together with military jets competed in a race about 1 km long until the aircrafts taked off and disappeared from view. After successfully finishing the distance (3 km in the run or walk), all 3000 participants - as much as never before - were awarded the special prizes (established by Air Base). They could taste military porridge and tea, too, as well as enjoy fair weather and a good mood. 
In the night you could enjoy a good music if you didn't miss opportunity to visit the concert "The Little Match Girl" of the Festival "RESURREXIT" in the Cathedral of Šiauliai. Today is a birthday of the famous Danish writer H. Ch. Andersen and the concert is dedicated to him and named after a one of his fairy tales. The unhappy story was performed by the Chamber Choir "Jauna muzika" from Vilnius which black clothes were decorated with red belts that have the same color as H. Ch. Andersen's house in Copenhagen. The choir is one of the most powerful vocal ensembles in Lithuania which puts on over sixty concerts in the country and abroad every year. V. Augustinas, its artistic director and conductor, was awarded the National Culture and Art Prize in 2010. In Šiauliai, the choir's programme included the compositions of H. Schütz, J. Tavener, D. Lang and V. Augustinas. An Easter Chorale was something especially! 

SAMSTAG, DER 2. APRIL: "RUNWAY RUN 2016" & "JAUNA MUZIKA"
 Es war ein schöner sonniger Tag, was nach dem gestrigen Aprilwetter kaum zu glauben war. Man konnte sich ruhig zum ehemaligen Landgut Zokniai begeben, woran nur einige Gebäude sowie das Territorium des Militärflughafens erinnert, der während des Ersten Weltkrieges (1915) von Deutschen gegründet war. Šiauliai befindet sich in einer günstigen geographischen Lage, deshalb konnte der Militärflughafen seit 1931 - der Ersten Republik Litauen, seit 1945 - den Sowjets (als der größte Militärflughafen im Baltikum) und seit 1991 - der Zweiten Republik Litauen dienen. Genau vor 12 Jahren ist Litauen der NATO beigetreten und dazu wurden alle nach Zokniai zum traditionellen Rennen „Runway Run 2016“ eingeladen. Die gewählte Laufstrecke ist einzigartig in Litauen und zwar - die 3 Kilometer lange Rollbahn des Militärflughafens, wo nicht nur Militärjets der litauischen Lufftwaffe landen, sondern auch die der NATO, die die Mission der Luftpolizei erfüllen (nun - aus Spanien). An den Start sind nicht nur LäuferInnen, sondern auch Militärjets gegangen und so haben sie miteinander etwa 1 km lang konkurriert, bis die Flugzeuge aufgeflogen und verschwunden sind. Alle, die das Ziel - im Lauf oder zu Fuß - erreichten, wurden mit dem Sonderandenken ausgezeichnet. Danach konnte man Tee und Soldatenbrei probieren. Diesmal gab es ca. 3000 TeilnehmerInnen - so viel wie nie früher. Aber so wie immer war die beste Stimmung. 
Stimmungsvoll war auch der Abendkonzert "Das Mädchen mit den Schwefelhölzchen" des Festivals "RESURREXIT" im Dom von Šiauliai. So heißt ein Märchen vom dänischen Schriftsteller H. Ch. Andersen, dem das Konzert an seinem Geburtstag (also, heute!) gewidmet war. Die traurige Märchengeschichte hat der berühmte Chor "Jauna muzika" aus Vilnius vorgestellt, der in der ganzen Welt gastiert und desssen Leiter V. Augustinas mit dem Nationalpreis für Kultur und Kunst im Jahre 2010 ausgezeichnet ist. Die schwarze Chorkleidung belebten die roten Gürtel, die die gleiche Farbe hatten wie das Wohnhaus von H. K. Andersen in Kopenhagen. Dann hat der Chor noch einen eindrucksvollen Osterchoral sowie die Lieder der berühmten Komponisten David Lang und John Tavener (Großbritannien) gesungen.

ŠEŠTADIENIS, BALANDŽIO 2 D.: "RUNWAY RUN 2016" & "JAUNA MUZIKA"
Po balandžio 1-osios gamtos pokštų netikėtai išaušo saulėta diena, puikiai tinkanti vizitui į buvusį Zoknių dvarą. Jį teprimena savininko mauzoliejus, keletas išlikusių pastatų ir dvaro teritorijoje apie 100 metų egzistuojantis karinis aerodromas. Visur patekti nelengva, todėl Zokniai - pats paslaptingiausias Šiaulių rajonas. Šiauliuose (geografiškai patogiame centre) I-ojo pasaulinio karo metu (1915 m.) vokiečiai įkūrė aerodromą. Nuo 1931 m. čia buvo jau nepriklausomos Lieuvos karo aviacijos bazė, o nuo 1945 - sovietų karinis aerodromas, didžiausias Pabaltijyje. Dabar - tai Lietuvos kariuomenės Karinių oro pajėgų Aviacijos bazė. Šiandien minint 12-ąsias įstojimo į NATO aljansą metines visi buvo pakviesti į tradicinį bėgimą „Runway Run 2016“. Lietuvoje - tai vienintelis toks bėgimas kilimo - tūpimo taku, kurio ilgis 3 km ir kuriuo kyla bei leidžiasi Lietuvos Karinių oro pajėgų orlaiviai kartu su NATO oro policijos misiją vykdančiais sąjungininkų naikintuvais (šiuo metu - ispanų). Atstumą buvo galima įveikti bėgant ar einant, svarbiausia - kartu ir viena kryptimi. Vienu metu buvo duotas startas tiek bėgikams, tiek lėkuvams. Konkurencija vyko apie kilometrą, kol lėktuvai atsiplėšė nuo žemės ir nurūko. Kiekvienas dalyvis, pasiekęs finišą, buvo apdovanotas specialiu suvenyru - atšvaitais bei pavaišintas kariška arbata ir koše. Šiemet - kaip niekad buvo daug dalyvių - apie 3000. Kaip niekad daug šypsenų, kas liudija, kad šiauliečiai gyvena jau vakarietiško gyvenimo ritmu. Tas pats jausmas apima ir lankant "RESURREXIT" festivalio koncertus. Vakare Šiaulių katedroje vyko koncertas "Mergaitė su degtukais", skirtas danų rašytojui H. K. Andersenui (šiandien - jo gimtadienis!) ir pavadintas vienos jo pasakos vardu. Liūdną pasakos istoriją atgaivino Vilniaus m. savivaldybės choras "Jauna muzika". Juodoje choro aprangoje švytėjo raudoni diržai - tokios pat spalvos kaip H. K. Anderseno namas Kopenhagoje. "Jauna muzika" yra koncertavusi visame pasaulyje, o jos vadovas -V. Augustinas 2010 m. apdovanota Nacionaline kultūros ir meno premija. Šiauliuose choras atliko dar ir iškilmingą velykinį choralą, ir garsaus kompozitoriaus David Lang bei religinės muzikos titano brito John Tavener kūrinius. Ir net tris didingas giesmes bisui!

At the old Mill Žaliūkai of Šiauliai,

 was organized the Festival of Small Easter (in English known as Divine Mercy Sunday, Low Sunday or St. Thomas Sunday) usually celebrating with congratulations of Lithuanian Easter Goddess Velykė, rolling of Easter eggs, folk dances and games as well as concerts of folk groups. 

And in the night, there was the Closing Concert of the Festival "RESURREXIT" in the Cathedral of Sts Apostles Peter and Paul. In the programme was "Great Mass in C minor" of W. A. Mozart, one of the greatest works of sacred music, dedicated to the memory of Professor Saulius Sondeckis (1928-2016). He was graduated violinist, later - conductor of the Chamber Orchestr which belongs to elite performers of Mozart's work. "You walk the edge of the abyss every time, when you play W. A. Mozart. It is only one false step and his music will lose its clarity, its subtle baroque momenta and its essence" (S. Sondeckis). 

"Great Mass" of W. A. Mozart was performed by the world famous music collectives - Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra (founded by S. Sondeckis), State Chamber Choir "Vilnius", Šiauliai State Chamber Choir "Polifonija" and the soloists - J. Gedmintaitė (soprano), N. Petročenko (mezzo-soprano), M. Zimkus (tenor), T. Girininkas (bass). About 100 choir singers, about 20 orchestra players and soloists were conducted by Tomas Ambrozaitis. The interplay of the wonderful voices of the soloists, the vibrating sounds of orchestral music as well as the echo of the powerful choral singing seemed to be not of this world in the cathedral of exceptional acoustics. "It's fantastic, it's impossible!" - you wanted to say the same words that the world famous music legend H. von Karajan said to S. Sondeckis and his Chamber Orchestra after the concert in the Festival of Berlin in 1976. It was great that this concert with music of the favorit composer of S. Sondeckis took place in Šiauliai, where Maestro was born (in 1928) and started with learning music, where his father Jackus Sondeckis (1893 -1989) was Major of the city (1925-1931). 

This day - known as St. Thomas Sunday - 

Tomas Ambrozaitis, conductor of this impressive Mozart concert and artistic director of the Festival "RESURREXIT" made his farewell to Šiauliai Chamber Choir "Polifonia". He has taken over management of the Choir since 2011. Concert activity, organisation of festivals and promotion of cultural activities speak of the professional maturity of the choir achieved during last 5 years. Now, T. Ambrozaitis returns to his home town Klaipėda, where - as he says - "his heart beats". The Choir gave him the second heart as a farewell present in the hope that it will beat, too. 

When the door of the Cathedral was opened, all - "consecrated" by the rays of the setting sun - went to the Square Prisikėlimas which name means "Resurrection". You couldn't believe that it's possible to have such a great wealth of choice in one week. In Šiauliai, the week after Easter was gleaming in all colours!

SONNTAG, DER 3. APRIL: KLEINOSTERN & W. A. MOZART 

An der alten Mühle Žaliūkai von Šiauliai wurde das Fest zu Kleinostern mit Gratulationen von litauischer Ostergöttin Velykė, Ostertrudeln, Volkstänzen und -spielen sowie Konzerten der Folklorengruppen veranstaltet. 

Und am Abend fand das Schlusskonzert des Festivals "RESURREXIT" im Peter-Paul-Dom statt. Im Programm gab es "Große Messe in c-Moll" von W. A. Mozart, eines der großartigsten Werke der Sakralmusik. 

"W. A. Mozart zu spielen - das bedeutet, am Rande des Abgrundes spazieren zu gehen. Ein falscher Schritt - und die Musik verliert ihre Klarheit, ihren subtilen Barockschwung und somit ihr Wesen". Das ist die Meinung von Saulius Sondeckis (1928-2016), Geiger und Dirigenten, der mit seinem Orchester zu elitären Interpreten von Mozarts Werk gehört. Er ist die weltbekannte Musiklegende, die leider aus der Welt vor zwei Monaten gegangen ist und zu seinem Andenken ist dieses Konzert. 

"Große Messe in c-Moll" von W. A. Mozart wurde von Kammerorchester Litauens (gegründet von S. Sondeckis), staatlichem Chor "Vilnius", staatlichem Kammerchor "Polifonija" aus Šiauliai und SolistInnen - J. Gedmintaitė (Sopran), N. Petročenko (Mezzosopran), M. Zimkus (Tenor), T. Girininkas (Bass) ausgeführt. Etwa 100 ChorsängerInnen, cirka 20 OrchesterspielerInnen und SolistInnen dirigierte Tomas Ambrozaitis. Das Zusammenspiel der eindrucksvollen Stimmen der SolistInnen, der vibrierenden Klänge der Orchestermusik sowie des Echos vom mächtigen Chorgesang schien im Dom von außergewöhnlichen Akustik nicht von dieser Welt zu sein. 

"Das ist fantastisch, das ist unmöglich!" - wollte man dasselbe sagen, was der weltberühmte H. von Karajan nach dem Konzert des Kammerorchesters unter Leitung S. Sondeckis im Festival von Berlin 1976 gesagt hat. Šiauliai, wo S. Sondeckis geboren ist (1928) und mit der Musik angefangen hat, wo sein Vater Jackus Sondeckis (1893-1989) Bügermeister war (1925-1931) nahm Abschied vom Maestro mit der Musik seines Lieblingskomponisten W. A. Mozart. 

An demselben Tag - übrigens St Thomas Tag -

 nahm Šiauliai Abschied auch von Tomas Ambrozaitis, Dirigenten dieses eindrucksvollen Mozart-Konzerts, Kunstleiter des Festivals "RESURREXIT". Vor 5 Jahren wurde er Leiter und Hauptdirigent des Kammerchors "Polifonija" (Šiauliai), der in der Zeit auferstanden ist und eine unglaubliche Höhe erreicht hat. Nun kehrt T. Ambrozaitis in seine Heimatstadt Klaipėda zurück, wo - wie er behauptet - sein Herz schlägt. Zum Abschied schenkten die ChoristInnen von "Polifonija" ihrem Leiter das zweite Herz mit der Hoffnung, dass nun zwei Herzein in seiner Brust schlagen werden. "Der echte Künstler nicht nur begeistert, sondern macht alles so, dass man es glauben kann"- dieser Gedanke von I. Markevitch war ein Motto für Maestro S. Sodeckis. Man weiß nicht, ob T. Ambrozaitis demselben Motto folgt, aber es passt ihm bestens. 

Die zahlreichen Hörer haben sich vom Festival "RESURREXIT" verabschiedet. Unter den Besuchern des Schlusskonzerts waren auch Kulturminister Litauens Š. Birutis, Bischof von Šiauliai E. Bartulis, die Frau vom Maestro S. Sondeckienė. Als sich die Tür des Pete-Paul-Doms öffnete, begaben sich alle - nochmals von den Strahlen der untergehenden Sonne "geweiht" - zum Platz, der den Namen "Prisikėlimas" ("Auferstehung") hat. Kaum zu glauben, dass so ein Reichtum der Welt in eine Woche nach Ostern hineinpasste, indem es in allen möglichen Farben schillerte.

 Šiandien - Atvelykis, tad vidudienį šiauliečiai buvo pakviesti užbaigti Velykų savaitės prie senojo Žaliūkų malūno. Ten laukė Velykė, buvo ridinėjami margučiai, ragaujama kiaušinienės. Programoje buvo ir šokiai, liaudiški žaidimai, Šiaulių miesto vaikų folkloro ansamblių koncertas. Pagal seną velykinį paprotį šventės pabaigoje margučių lūkštai užkasti į žemę, kad būtų derlinga vasara.
O vakare Šv. apaštalų Petro ir Pauliaus katedroje - "RESURREXIT" festivalio uždarymo koncertas su vienu iš didingiausių sakralinės muzikos kūrinių W. A. Mozarto "Didžiosiomis Mišiomis c-moll". "Groti W. A. Mozartą - tas pats, kas vaikščioti ant bedugnės krašto. Vienas netikslus žingsnis ir muzika netenka vaiskumo, subtilaus barokinio žavesio, netenka savo esmės". Taip yra sakęs pasaulio muzikos legenda, smuikininkas ir dirigentas S. Sondeckis (1928-2016), kurio Lietuva neteko lygiai prieš du mėnesius (2016-02-03) ir kurio atminimui skirtas šis koncertas. Perfrazuojant maestro, atlikti Mozartą Šiaulių katedroje, tai - tas pats, kas vaikščioti katedros palubėje esančia baliustrada. Juo labiau, kad S. Sondeckis buvo vadinamas elitiniu W. A. Mozarto muzikos atlikėju ir kas paneigs, kad jo ir gal net Mozarto sielos neskraidys koncerto metu šalia angelų tupinčių virš altorių?
Garsiausi Lietuvos kolektyvai - Lietuvos kamerinis orkestras (meno vadovas Sergej Krylov; orkestro įkūrėjas - S. Sondeckis), Valstybinis choras "Vilnius" (meno vadovas ir vyr. dirigentas A. Dambrauskas), Šiaulių valstybinis kamerinis choras "Polifonija" (meno vadovas ir vyr. dirigentas T. Ambrozaitis) ir solistai - J. Gedmintaitė (sopranas), N. Petročenko (mecosopranas), M. Zimkus (tenoras), T. Girininkas (bosas) ėmėsi sudėtingos misijos. Beveik 100 choristų, apie 20 orkestrantų ir 4 solistams dirigavo T. Ambrozaitis. "Tai - fantastiška, tiesiog - neįmanoma!" - po koncerto buvo galima pasakyti tą patį, ką ištarė legendinis H. von Karajanas po S. Sondeckio Kamerinio orkestro pasirodymo Berlyno festivalyje 1976 m. Nežinia, ką pasakytų pats S. Sondeckis, bet jam turėtų būti džiugu, kad Šiauliai, kur jis gimė (1928 m.) ir pradėjo muzikuoti, kur jo tėvas Jackus Sondeckis (1893-1989) buvo burmistru (1925-1931), atsisveikino su maestro skambant jo mėgstamiausiam kompozitoriui W. A. Mozartui.
Tą dieną - beje, Šv. Tomo dieną -
Šiauliai atsisveikino ir su šio įspūdingo koncerto dirigentu, festivalio "RESURREXIT" meno vadovu, "Polifonijos" vadovu ir vyr. dirigentu Tomu Ambrozaičiu. Prieš 5 metus stojęs prie "Polifonijos" vairo, prikėlęs ir pakėlęs chorą į neregėtas aukštumas, jis grįžta ten, kur (kaip jis sako) plaka jo širdis - į gimtąją Klaipėdą. "Polifonijos" kolektyvas jam įteikė ir antrąją širdį, tikėdamasis, kad ir ji suplaks ilgesio ritmu. "Tikras menininkas stengiasi ne tik sužavėti - jis privalo klausytoją ir įtikinti", - ši I. Markevitch'iaus mintis buvo S. Sodeckio moto. Nežinia, ar ja vadovaujasi T. Ambrozaitis, bet ji jam labai tinka.
Šiauliečiai, gausiai užpildę tiek katedrą, tiek jos palubę prie baliustrados, atsisveikino su festivaliu "RESURREXIT". Beje, uždarymo koncerto klausėsi ir Lietuvos kultūros ministras Š. Birutis, ir Šiaulių vyskupas E. Bartulis, ir maestro žmona S. Sondeckienė. Koncerto klausytojai atsivėrus katedros durims, dar kartą pašventinti besileidžiančios saulės, pasipylė į Prisikėlimo aikštę. Velykų savaitė Šiauliuose buvo tiesiog neįmanoma: neįtikėtinai didelis pasaulis sutilpo į septynias dienas! Ir tviskėjo jis visomis įmanomomis margučių ir pasaulio spalvomis.
