KAUNAS & ŠIAULIAI (LITHUANIA): Kalėdų eglės *2014* The Christmas trees

In Lithuania, there was no snow this December and we had long and dark days - but with a lot of music in Šiauliai! On 14th December, you could enjoy the "Coco Chanel Project" with the modern French music, lighting images à la Picasso and Chanel perfume and fragrance in the air of the Concert Hall 'Saulė'. The other literature and music project "DARBAI IR DYVAI" ('Work and wonders'), dedicated to the Donelaitis- Year 2014, took place on 18th December in 'Laiptų galerija'. The famous actor R. Kazlas read the stories of the poem 'The Seasons', a masterpiece of K. Donelaitis (1714-1780). His reading was accompanied by sounds of the copper wind instruments of the Quintet "Dūduva". 

Im Dezember gab es keinen Schnee, es dunkelte früh und so hatten wir finstere Tage. Aber mit viel Musik in Šiauliai! Am 14.12.  fand im Konzertsaal "Saulė"  das "COCO CHANEL PROJEKT"   mit moderner französischer Musik, Lichtbildern à la Picasso und  Chanel-Parfüm-Düften statt. 

Ein anderes Literatur- und Musikprojekt "DARBAI IR DYVAI" ("Arbeit und Wunder") vom 18.12. im Kulturzentrum "Laiptų galerija" war dem Donelaitis-Jahr 2014 gewidmet. Der bekannte Schauspieler R. Kazlas las Bauerngeschichten aus dem Poem "Die Jahrezeiten" - Meisterwerk von K. Donelaitis (1714-1780) - vor, die durch Töne der Kupfer-Blasinstrumente vom Quintett "Dūduva"  begleitet wurden. Die UNESCO nahm "Die Jahreszeiten" 1977 in die Bibliothek der Literaturmeisterwerke Europas auf.

Gruodį temsta anksti, o kadangi šiemet nebuvo sniego, tai prasidėjo juodosios dienos... Bet su muzika - kiekvienam pagal poreikius! Teatralizuota šiuolaikinė muzika "COCO CHANEL PROJEKTAS" skambėjo gruodžio 14 d. "Saulės" koncertų salėje. Buvo ir  ten daug juodos spalvos: juodu fortepijonu prancūziškas sonatas grojo juodai apsirengusi pianistė E. Andrejevaitė - kartais prisijungdavo obojus, kartais fagotas, kartais juoda Coco Chanel suknele vilkinti dainininkė V. Miškūnaitė (sopranas). Bet tamsa čia buvo tik fonas, kurią nuolat perskrosdavo šviesos pliupsniai, virstantys vaizdais tarsi iš Picasso paveikslo. Erdvę užpildydavo Chanel kvepalų kvapai... 
Kitokia muzika skambėjo gruodžio 18 d. "Laiptų galerijoje". Prie kalėdinės eglės aktoriaus R. Kazlo lūpomis dejavo ir juokavo K. Donelaičio būrai, kurių mintis nuolatos papildydavo kvinteto "Dūduva" varinių pučiamųjų instrumentų garsai. Ši muzikinė-poetinė programa "DARBAI IR DYVAI" skirta nueinantiems Donelaičio metams...

THE CHRISTMAS EVE was coming in darkness. When the first star appears in the sky it starts usually the festive Christmas Eve dinner ('KŪČIOS') with 12 dishes (no meat!) in Lithuania. But it was so dark that you couldn't see any stars. Although the first snowflakes began to fall down you couldn't believe that the green Christmas Eve would become white! But it happened a miracle in the holy night: all was covered with snow and the dark became light.

In der Finsternis ist der HEILIGE ABEND gekommen. Wenn der erste Stern am Himmel erscheint, beginnt in Litauen das gemeinsame festliche Abendessen KŪČIOS mit 12 Gerichten (kein Fleisch!). Aber es war  diesmal so dunkel, dass kein einziger Stern zu sehen war. Zwar begannen die ersten Flocken zu fallen, aber es war kaum zu glauben, dass der grüne Heiligabend weiß wird. Aber das Wunder  der Heiligen Nacht ist passiert: die Erde wurde von Schnee bedeckt und aus  Finsternis wurde Licht.

Tamsoje atėjo ir KŪČIOS. Kai danguje sužimba pirmoji žvaigždė, sėdama prie Kūčių stalo. Bet buvo taip tamsu, kad nesimatė nei dangaus, nei žvaigždžių. Tiesa, lyg ir pradėjo kristi pirmosios snaigės. Kad jos pavirs sniego patalu, galėjai nebent pasvajoti.  Bet valgant Kūčių vakarienę įvyko stebuklas: žali laukai pasidengė baltu patalu, šakos nusviro nuo sniego, tamsa virto šviesa...

THE FIRST CHRISTMAS DAY, white and beautiful, starts with strolling through the snow crunching under the feet as well as with Christmas music: On 26th December took place the Christmas Concert of the Boys Choir 'DAGILĖLIS' in the Cathedral; On 27th. December it was the concert 'KALĖDINĖ DOVANA' ('Christmas gift') with opera soloists, ballet dancers and guitarists in the Culture Center; On 28th December you could enjoy the European Christmas music with the Chamber Orchestra "ARS VIVO" (conductor P. Vaičiulionis) in the Ch. Frenkelis Villa. Here was opened the Exhibition of Costumes of the Victorian era (1837-1901) from the collection of A. VASSILIEV, the famous fashion historian (Paris Vilnius-Moscow) too. It fitted wonderful into Christmas atmosphere while the exhibition of V. LUCKUS (1943-1987), presented in the Photography Museum of Šiauliai, was a contrast to it. The creative world of  V. Luckus isn't festive but very interesting too!

Weihnachten fangen mit den weißen Tagen, Spaziergängen durch den knirschenden Schnee und Weihnachtsmusik an:  Am 26.12. - Weihnachtslieder vom Knabenchor "DAGILĖLIS" im Dom;  am 27.12. - Konzert "KALĖDINĖ DOVANA" ("Weihnachtsgeschenk") mit Opernsolisten, Baletttänzern und Gitaristen im Kulturzentrum; am 28.12. - europäische Weihnachtsmusik vom Kammerorchester  "ARS VIVO" (Leiter S. Vaičiulionis) in der Frenkelvilla. Hier wurden auch elegante Kleider der  Viktorianischen Zeit (1837-1901)  aus der Sammlung von A. Vassiliev, vom bekannten Modenhistoriker (Paris-Vilnius-Moskau) ausgestellt, die wunderbar zur Weihnachtsstimmung passten. Während die Fotos von V. LUCKUS (1943-1987) im Museum für Fotografie waren anders. Es schien als ob die Bilder durch ein  finsteres Fenster gemacht worden wären. So war wahrscheinlich Luckus' Weltbild, nicht festlich, aber eigenartig...

Išaušo Baltos Kalėdos. Prasidėjo pasivaikščiojimai per girgždantį sniegą ir  muzika. 
Antrąją Kalėdų dieną Petro ir Pauliaus katedroje skambėjo Šiaulių berniukų ir jaunuolių choro "DAGILĖLIS" atliekamos giesmės. Pabaigoje buvo pakviesti  kartu padainuoti visi, kas kada nors dainavo "Dagilėlyje"... 
Šiaulių kultūros centre gruodžio 27 vyko koncertas "KALĖDINĖ DOVANA". Dalyvavo operos solistai M. Vitulskis ir R. Novikovaitė, "Baltijos gitarų kvarteto" vadovas S. Krinicinas, baleto primarijus N. Juška. Kaip sakoma, kalėdinių dovanų nepasirinksi. Bet iš šio koncerto po egle norėčiau rasti tik  gitaros skambesius ir R. Novikovaitės atliekamas kalėdines giesmes... 
Gruodžio 28 Frenkelio viloje muzikavo kamerinis ansamblis "ARS VIVO" (vadovas S. Vaičiulionis). Po smuikais ir gėlių ornamentais dekoruotais salės skliautais du smuikai, violončelė, fortepijonas ir 5 choristai atliko įvairių Europos šalių kalėdines giesmes ir kalėdinę muziką. 
Kalėdiniam akordui puikiai tiko Frenkelio viloje eksponuojama karalienės Viktorijos laikų (1837-1901) mada iš asmeninės  mados istoriko A. VASILJEVO  (Paryžius-Vilnius-Maskva) kolekcijos. Kitokie akordai skambėjo pagaliau rekonstruotame Fotografijos muziejuje, kur veikė V. LUCKAUS (1943-1987) fotografijų paroda. Fotografuota tarsi per drumzliną langą - matyt toks požiūris į pasaulį, ne kalėdinis, bet savitas...

Oh, it's NEW YEAR'S EVE again!
The year 2014 is drawing to an end and the year 2015 is coming with the Euro. Very sad that we must say goodbye to the Lithuanian currency Litas. Because of it, it's the best to celebrate the New Year 2015 in Kaunas where Litas was born. If you celebrate New Year's Eve in Kaunas at first it's recommended to enjoy the Bell Music Concert in the Historic Garden. Then it's the best time to visit the Christmas tree at the Town Hall, composed from clouds and angels. After voting of the Lithuanian people, it was announced as the the most beautiful Christmas tree of Lithuania in 2014!

Ach, schon SILVESTER! 
2014 geht zu Ende und mit 2015 kommt der Euro. Traurig, aber  man muss Abschied von der litauischen Währung Litas nehmen. Wohl am besten ist es in KAUNAS zu machen, wo Litas geboren wurde. Silvester in Kaunas - das ist zuerst die Glockenmusik im Historischen Garten! Dann -  der  Weihnachtsbaum am Rathaus, komponiert aus Wolken und Engeln, zum schönsten im Jahre 2014 in Litauen gewählt. Um Mitternacht verschwand  das weiße Rathaus im Damf der Feuerwerke, aber seine Turmuhr leuchtete wie ein Vollmond mit dem Ziferblatt über dem Weihnachtsbaum. Die Uhr schlug: Prosit Neujahr!!!
IMMER BESCHÄFTIGT SEIN UND NICHT UNTER DER EILE LEIDEN: DAS IST EIN STÜCK HIMMEL AUF ERDEN (Papst Johannes XXIII).

 

Ach, jau gruodžio 31 d.!
Senieji metai baigiasi, atkeliauja Naujieji, o su jais ir euras. Gaila, bet reikia atsisveikinti su stabiliuoju litu, turbūt vieninteliu nenuvertėjusiu  dalyku per 25 Nepriklausomybės metus. Geriausia tai padaryti laikinojoje Lietuvos sostinėje Kaune, kur litas gimė. Istorijos sodelyje skambėjo Kauno varpai (G. Kuprevičius). Nenusakoma magija spinduliavo Kauno eglė, sukomponuota iš debesų ir angelų. Mušant dvylika fejerverkų dūmuose nuskendo baltoji Kauno rotušė. Matėsi tik jos  laikrodis - tarsi mėnulio pilnatis su ciferblatu virš gražiausios Lietuvos eglės. Su Naujaisiais!!! 
VISUOMET BŪTI UŽSIĖMUSIAM, BET TURĖTI GALIMYBĘ SKUBĖTI PAMAŽU: TAI YRA DALELĖ  ROJAUS ŽEMĖJE (Popiežius Jonas XXIII).
